I wonder is Citi's Cash Back Platinum eligible for Golden Lounge access at KLIA?
*
No. Citi CB Platinum would not give you any lounge membership but only the Premier Miles Card does provides you Priority Pass membership. However Priority Pass membership generally does not give you access to airline lounges owned by the airline. Only 3rd party lounges such as Plaza Premium in KLIA or Louis Tavern CIP in BKK.

by the way hye, Citi Plat Cash Back can enter KLIA Plaza Premium Lounge with Direct Access membership? What is Direct Access membership?
*
Made a mistake myself ... now I know why I felt funny after pressing the submit button. First mistake - I meant Priority Pass membership and not Direct Access.

Second correction - Citi Plat CB doesn't give you any lounge access. You will need to apply for the PremierMiles CB card. Upon approval of the card, the application form for the Priority Pass will be there. Membership is free and you will given 2 complimentary visits using the Priority Pass.

Entry using the PremierMiles card to the KLIA lounge is 12 visit per year.

MBB World MasterCard, read first post, annual fee RM1,500.
*
Sorry Gen-X, just realized that I didn't read the first post myself.
MBB WMC does not qualify you to the MAS lounge automatically as there are 2 membership tiers. One with the lounge access and the other without. And of course one need to subscribe to the lounge access membership and pay the full amount to get the MAS lounge access.

Still with the lounge access, you still need to wait for them to upgrade your Enrich card to Silver. It is the Enrich card that brings you into the lounge, the WMC will get you now where even though you show it to them.

As for access to international lounge ... well I will put a caveat to that. You see MAS does not have lounges all over the world - (to my best knowledge), they only have lounges in Malaysia, Singapore and United Kingdom. The rest of the world are covered via partner lounges. Problem is that access to the partner lounge require you to have the "invite" / business class boarding pass for MAS flights. I have asked a MAS staff before on this subject and the use on the Enrich card will only give you access to the MAS lounge but not the partner lounges.

So ... hope someone out there can correct me on my understanding on MAS lounges.
Still the food quality and facilities are far better in MAS lounge than inside the Plaza Premium lounge. So it is quite worthwhile to gain entry to the lounge if you fly often on MAS economy flights. (No point if you are on business since you have the ticket to enter the lounge)

Food quality over in KLIA Plaza Premium Lounge have improved slightly but just a few months ago, I specifically avoided eating the sandwiches because they always taste funny and my stomach will always feel funny as well. The noodles are always extremely salty back then as well.

* My recent trip was about 2 weeks back and the previous one was about 3-4 months back.

Can i ask a question? All type of Plat Credit card is going to enter the same Lounge at KLIA, which is the Plaza Premium Lounge?
So all different bank of Plat card are going to meet each other at same place?
*
A simple answer is Yes. However to enter the lounge, you need not necessarily be a Plat card holder.
So long you are willing to pay for the charges then you can enter the lounge. Often (it happens right in front of me), when people ask about bringing their partner/wife/gf/whoever and learnt about the charges - they turn back coz they want it for free and not wanting to pay for it. (Me too if I do ever have someone to bring along with me )

*
Hard to say ... it all depends on how many cardholders are travelling around during that period. If unlucky ... quota finish then nothing much can do.

actually where is this KLIA Plaza Premier Lounge? I've been there for domestic flight many times the only I found is the Golden Lounge, when I asked they said open only for business/first class passenger
*
There's several MAS lounge. If I'm not mistaken there's 3. 2 itself is located on the main airport building (top and lower floor) and the 3rd one located @ the satellite building. The KLIA Plaza Premier Lounge is located @ the satellite building on the same floor as the MAS lounge ... around 80 meters apart.

So this list basically only listing cards that can be used in LOCAL lounge, what about the benefits for lounges worldwide?
*
Please read through the info carefully and don't come to easy conclusion just because you didn't search thoroughly.
We did discuss about lounges benefits worldwide. You don't hear about it much because there are limited options available.

They'll wise up very soon when they realize they can't claim the fees from MBB/AMEX.

Err folks ... if I'm not mistaken there's no way you can take the aerotrain from the domestic section of KLIA unless they activate the door. (Which they did when the aerotrain was non-functional for months due to upgrading)

The domestic terminal is on the lower section while the international departures is on the upper level. Aerotrain is on the upper level hence no access via the domestic area. Indirectly this means cannot go to PPL in KLIA.

I'm not exactly an expert in KLIA so anyone can correct me I welcome it.

I entered LCCT PPL today with Ex-EON Visa Signature and while at SG T1, entered Sky Lounge with their Priority Pass Card. The food at LCCT really lousy. At Sky Lounge food ok only but many type of liquor, a bit high when I left that place, hahaha

Comparatively with PPL (both KLIA and LCCT), Sky Lounge @SG is better.

hi Gen-X, i am planning to get the Citibank Premier Miles VS and need some clarifications for the queries below:
1. Can i share the 12 times Access to PPL Lcct/klia with Supp card member?
2. Can i bring in the Supp card member into Overseas PPL using P.Pass card without charges?
thanks in advance for your info...
*
The answer to Q2 is no
- Priority Pass grants privilege to the cardholder (on the P.Pass). You can bring in anyone to any lounge that accept P.Pass in the world but charges apply.

There is a MAS Golden Lounge in Penang Airport.

Entry to MAS lounge only via Business Ticket, Enrich Gold card holders and above. Or Enrich Silver with lounge access.
You won't get access to MAS lounge if you are whatever type credit card holder from any banks in Malaysia.

MBB WMC by virtue of being an Enrich Silver member (if you opt with Golden Lounge Privilege). Same applies to MAS Amex Business Card (Enrich Silver / Gold).

Only CIMB/DA VI by way of golden lounge voucher..
*
Forgot about the MAS Amex Business card and some cards via lounge voucher. blush.gif
MAS lounge is rather good as compared to a 3rd party lounge which you can get access to via the Priority Pass card. Plaza Premium Lounge is our local version of the 3rd party lounge and there are discernible difference as compared to MAS lounge.

Actually i find Amex Platinum Credit Card / Charge Card not bad.. as they r giving the complimentary to their Platinum cardholders (both principal & supplementary) the access to KLIA Plaza Premium Lounge, LCCT & Senai lounge.

Just tat now tat im already hv MBB wif their Maybankard2Gold.. takkan Amex again.. should I sacrifice my 5% cash rebate for the complimentary access? *dilemma*
*
Simple .... how often do you fly vs. how often do you get or will get the rebate. Decide from there.
You want a card then apply for it and if you are undecided then apply for both / pay GST for all cards. If you can afford to fly then RM50 GST per year is nothing.

And this is not a forum to discuss on how to help you make a decision and yourself being undecided, we can't help you on that.

I think VISA Infinite holders have to apply for the Priority pass Card in order to gain 5X free entry per year. After 5x they will bill your card accordingly. I wonder the 5x includes guests. Any user comments/experience please.
*
Don't need to apply as the card is sent separately to MBB VI cardholders. 5x does not include guests.
Experience ? You only gain access to 3rd party airline lounges which is not the same as the airline lounge itself.

Silly answer. Without a boarding pass, you can't even enter the departure area. The airport security will stop you way in advance.
Unless you are a KLIA airport staff.

U entered departure area with a boarding pass DOESN'T mean that the boarding pass will be always with u, it can be with anybody! Go study what siutimtim asked in the 1st place.
*
siutimtim asked "taking jetstar to singapore can access klia premium lounge ????"
and chintl replied "Why not? As long as u got a boarding pass, u can."

Would you like to GO and check a million times as to whether the question involves boarding pass in the first place ?
Was there any reference you made as to where the boarding pass is or who's holding the boarding pass?

Isn't my general answer correct "Without a boarding pass, you can't even enter the departure area. The airport security will stop you way in advance."
I know what I am talking about ... whoever you are. I studied my answer before I typed it - perhaps you didn't when you anger took over by misunderstanding me.

2 items are required to enter the PPL - Boarding Pass and the credit card or loyalty card or Priority Pass or Cash. Boarding Pass alone will not get you in PPL in KLIA. It may be a different case for the one in LCCT as access to the PPL is available before and after the departure area. (in case anyone asked ... they are separated although side by side)

When I go to SG with JetStar, so far the departure gate is at the Satellite Building for my case.
*
If I may add, while it is a general understanding that international flights depart from the Satellite Building there are instances where they depart (and sometimes disembark) from the Main Terminal building. Anyone can access PPL if they have ample time to run about when boarding time and for MAS Golden Lounge, you could access the one @ both at the Main Terminal building or Satellite Building.

I am speaking from experience. My international flight is @ the Main Terminal building and I ran off to PPL @ the Satellite Building to grab a quick bite. I have 30 minutes to run between both building and back then it was the era when the AeroTrain broke down and had to use the bus.

Your aggressive replies emm ... no point saying it.

I used to enter LCCT PPL whenever I'm in LCCT. Be it I'm flying or waiting for arrivals. Most of the time I just enter with NRIC.
Sometimes they asked for boarding pass, sometimes they don't. When they ask for boarding pass, I just casually tell them I have not checked in yet although I'm not flying tongue.gif
*
It is a unique situation in LCCT where there's 2 PPL - one after boarding pass check/control and the other before boarding pass check/control.
The one before passport control is better as that's designed to capture transit traffic (I spoke to their guys sometime back) and the one after passport control is so-so only. They made this renovation around 1+ year back.

Of course the one before boarding pass check/control one could check in without a boarding pass - PPL management designed it that way to capture such market in LCCT.
