Lets just say, I'm graduating on March '09 but has been working since Dec '08 (14k/year) and just month ago promoted into a better position.
Is there any credit card for me to successfully apply?

QUOTE(winner @ Dec 28 2009, 05:43 PM) You have to be a good paymaster. Banks will study your spending habit as well as credit exposure, and automatically review your CL. I guess it is a good time to demand higher CL if you wish to, as banks are trying hard to retain customers. Anyway, you shouldn't need to demand higher CL if you don't really use it. On the other hand, I asked banks to lower my CLs instead. Thanks.I usually paid it in full, but i will miss out some payment due to busy schedule. is it either late payment or full payment, i never practise min payments. I ask for higher credit as i planning to do some big-sum purchase in near future. futhermore i am cutting down my number cards due to the tax. Hopefully the banker will read my mind |

QUOTE(winner @ Dec 28 2009, 05:09 PM) Are you sure RHB VI is offered to those having RM1mil deposit? If my memory serves me right, I was informed by an RM early this year that one needed to become PB customer, ie., having at least RM200k deposit or RM1mil loan + RM10k investment account with RHB, in order to be invited for RHB VI. Well ... here's some info on RHB complimentary card. The above requirements may have changed over times. Yes, entry level deposit / investment to become RHB PB is RM200k and you'll only get complimentary Gold cc. RM500K will get you a Platinum complimentary card. FYI, RHB VI min CL is RM200k .... Added on December 28, 2009, 7:31 pm QUOTE(Lerner @ Dec 28 2009, 06:04 PM) Thanks. Late payments is not good in bank books lah bro. CL increase comes with good track record over a very long period of time. It took me 3 yrs back then (if I remember it well) before I got my 1st CL increase. Unless your CL is ultra low, these increases won't be so soon.I usually paid it in full, but i will miss out some payment due to busy schedule. is it either late payment or full payment, i never practise min payments. I can't remember what system it is but in the previous version of this thread one forummer did mention this. Basically the system will capture whether you are a on-time, late or don't pay @ all. And you are right ... it won't state the amount. This info will be visible to all banks. So ... paying late is not a good habit to have. Period. |

I think it was discussed briefly in v7 as well as CCRIS, CTOS, Blacklisted by BankCCRIS, the report you can get yourself from any Bank Negara office. Numbers will be stated in 1, 2, 3 and so on. If it is stated as 3, it means that you have missed payment thrice. A good credit score should be all 0. |

Some official statement from Association of Banks in Malaysia (ABM) regarding RM50 service tax.
RM50 service tax will be charge upon card issuance or anniversary (which some credit card users already knew this) and point redemption can be used to pay off RM50 service tax. I think the CL increase is based on spending pattern & repayment bahaviour. I had never request any CL increase since day 1 collected the CTB classic card. Thru the past 12 years, the initial CL RM4k was auto increased multiple times till current RM30k.

QUOTE(vampbreak @ Dec 28 2009, 04:41 PM) I thought we measure the "exclusive" by how hard to get the card and the number of people who carrying it. This VI and WMC only for CIMB & RHB or SCB customer or what ? Because they are only by invitation right? I mean, how can bank possibly know your account activity if you are not their customer? Maybe Reventon can advise? Did he become a CIMB customer and deposit some amount of money? then only the bank will send you the invitation ? Yes, only their very best customers will be invited into this very selected circle of cardholders. On your last point I stand corrected I thought VISA Black card & Courts Mastercard was created to challange Black Card? This post has been edited by tgeoklin: Dec 29 2009, 08:16 AM |

My spending pattern is less than RM500 monthly. Perhaps repayment behaviour. |

I seldom use my DA Gold and guess what, my CL is being increased for >50% and being offered to upgrade to DA Platinum. |

That's what I'm talking about. I experienced the same situation as vin_ann.
Later, they'll offer DA Platinum to you if you're still holding Gold. |

Hey guys... I'm kinda new to this CC thing (fresh grad... what to do..
Anyway I just recently submitted my application for a HSBC card and I need your opinions. Is it difficult to apply for one, considering that I am a fresh grad.. my annual income arnd 24k. I was kinda hoping now with the service tax imposed, the application would be easier or smtg cos many people cancelling their cards so they're bound to need new customers right....? |
