Thanks for the info. I have just one more question.

For example, if i have 2 card, let say MBB Petronas & Sony Visa. I have an easy payment made with Sony card, but since I want to keep MBB Petronas due to petrol rebate, can I transfer my easy payment to my Petronas card and cancel my Sony card then?

Got my platinum card at last.  Yes, it is not as prestige now adays.  However, it is def better than holding a gold card.

I am now aiming for the "world platinum" or whatever it is called, which is by invitation only. smile.gif
It is called World Mastercard. Currently offered by CIMB Bank/Direct Access and MBF. The one by CIMB Bank/Direct Access doesn't require an invitation.

The one by VISA International is called VISA Infinite.

Have to dissappoint you again ... the answer is no. EZ payments are never transferable.

I don't actually get what you meant. HLB would compensate you with 10,000 points if you were to pay the RM50 service tax, or HLB would deduct 10,000 points from you for the payment of the RM50 service tax?
*
hlb ask me to take back their card and they will give 10000 points to offset the RM50 gov tax rclxms.gif
very good ah

Not so good actually. You need to fork out RM50 first and get 10,000 points later. doh.gif

I'd rather ask the bank to deduct 10,000 points from my account, so that I don't need to use my existing cash.

Currently the most exclusive cards in Malaysia, as in the least number of people holding them are CIMB's Enrich World Mastercard and RHB Visa Infinite. Both are by invitation only. So for all those people looking for that ONE card to maintain, one of these would be a good option brows.gif

my latest experience is from a call from Hong Leong Bank which give 10000 points on the spot to offset the RM50, but i still decline bcos i have few other cards which i need to keep
The lowest point needed to redeem a RM50 voucher from Hong Leong Bank is 12,400. Not a very good deal i'd say.

Agreed.

10k points should be the norm. Anything above is not too good, anything below is a bonus smile.gif

its juz not prestige , its already a norm .... yes it do offers something more like klia lounge , higher p.a , golf ... but if u dun utilise these , i dont c any special bout platinum ... i'd been using a few n now all downgrade to get better rebates ( which is more practical ) ... n for those who tot platinum hold higher CL than other cards , u r definitely wrong. it used to b , but now i cant say my SCB justone with a mediocre CL beats most of the plats out thr.

its all began with tht stupid UOB who launched One platinum , if not mistaken. everyone tot thts the plat n everyone go rushing to get them. then the other banks start to counter by offering real plats at gold card level. n now even some banks dun issue classic card anymore , its all start with gold card.

yep unless u got a visa infinite / world mastercard. u stil doesnt hold any special status recognition.

Anybody know if RM 50 GST can be "paid" by points for CIMB DA? If yes, how many points required?

If they don't want to upgrade you then just cancel the card ... simple. No need to raise your blood pressure.  sweat.gif
These days it is very easy to get Platinum thus just by virtue of having one doesn't mean anything. An anology about this ... a gold card with classic card level CL .... e.g. a gold card with RM3.5K limit. Or a Platinum with a RM5K limit (Myself is an example).

May I know why is it so important to hold a Platinum card ?
*
Problem is I have installments in with the bloody PBB credit card. First time heard Gold & Platinum have RM 5k below credit limit. For my case, each level of the credit card got upgraded, it is at least RM 10k extra credit limit.

QUOTE(ellimist @ Dec 27 2009, 11:25 PM)
Well, it is up to their discretion, they don't have to offer you one just because another bank has offered you one.

And as others have said, you can show you're dissatisfaction by terminating your banking relationship with them tongue.gif
*
The thing is PBB has one of the lowest income requirement for Platinum & I believe CIMB has the same or higher requirement. Somemore I pay promptly & no bad records in CCRIS or whatever. I don't see any reason for rejecting my request seeing this should be the time to preserve customers. Darn, thinking of cancelling but the installments also headache.

QUOTE(hye @ Dec 27 2009, 11:58 PM)
Yes ... you need to do full settlement.
*
Some banks will impose a 'special' cancellation (pay in one short) charges on easy-payment installments. A few SCB officers told me about it. There is a fine line clause on easy payment transactions.

hi, i think in order to qualify for their my payment plan you need to have a minimum 500rm in a single transaction. see if any of your transactions have 500 or more, otherwise they will not do the installment for you.

yeah PBB has a RM100 early settlement fee. Wanted to cancel but also have an easy payment on it. No point settling and cancelling since the cancellation fee more than the gov service tax sad.gif
