hi, i think in order to qualify for their my payment plan you need to have a minimum 500rm in a single transaction. see if any of your transactions have 500 or more, otherwise they will not do the installment for you.
here is the link

hmmm, at least RM500 in a transaction hmm.gif
guess no luck for me then, mine is all accumulating 1 tongue.gif

this one gif me free oso dunwan .... sometimes haf to c which bank issuing ... if u hold a visa infinite but get paliah service , i rather hold a classic card with good services.

its juz not prestige , its already a norm .... yes it do offers something more like klia lounge , higher p.a , golf ... but if u dun utilise these , i dont c any special bout platinum ... i'd been using a few n now all downgrade to get better rebates ( which is more practical ) ... n for those who tot platinum hold higher CL than other cards , u r definitely wrong. it used to b , but now i cant say my SCB justone with a mediocre CL beats most of the plats out thr.

its all began with tht stupid UOB who launched One platinum , if not mistaken. everyone tot thts the plat n everyone go rushing to get them. then the other banks start to counter by offering real plats at gold card level. n now even some banks dun issue classic card anymore , its all start with gold card.

yep unless u got a visa infinite / world mastercard. u stil doesnt hold any special status recognition.
*
Actually, the service is pretty good as it has a direct number to call, which is not shared amongst the rest of their cards, thus resulting in very good service and response time unlike the normal plat line etc. The rewards and benefits also outclass anything out there, provided you really subscribe to such a lifestyle as its mostly tailored to high spenders and frequent travellers. smile.gif

Problem is I have installments in with the bloody PBB credit card. First time heard Gold & Platinum have RM 5k below credit limit. For my case, each level of the credit card got upgraded, it is at least RM 10k extra credit limit.
The thing is PBB has one of the lowest income requirement for Platinum & I believe CIMB has the same or higher requirement. Somemore I pay promptly & no bad records in CCRIS or whatever. I don't see any reason for rejecting my request seeing this should be the time to preserve customers. Darn, thinking of cancelling but the installments also headache.
Some banks will impose a 'special' cancellation (pay in one short) charges on easy-payment installments. A few SCB officers told me about it. There is a fine line clause on easy payment transactions.
*
As we had previously mentioned before, the more cards you hold, the higher your exposure level, thus the lessor your chance of gettting a higher CL, which probably affected your available choice of card type wink.gif

Hi guys ~~

I'm planning to get my first credit card soon. My annual income is 20k.

I'm looking for 2 cards , 1 is Citibank Shell card (cos I go to shell often) and what do you all suggest for the other one ?

I trying to get a card that has less or none annual fee.  icon_question.gif  icon_question.gif  icon_question.gif

You can try apply for MBB Amex CC (5x rewards point on petrol) or MBB Petronas. Both are free. The requirement is 30k/36k annual income, but i have a friends who able to get the card with your annual income. I guess the bank are desperate by now. tongue.gif No harm in trying anyway.

Currently the most exclusive cards in Malaysia, as in the least number of people holding them are CIMB's Enrich World Mastercard and RHB Visa Infinite. Both are by invitation only. So for all those people looking for that ONE card to maintain, one of these would be a good option  brows.gif

I agree. Last time when I was in Bukit Bintang, there is an advertisement board everywhere promoting this 2 card. I would also like to get one for myself but never had a chance. I guess you can get higher chance if your are CIMB or RHB customer. I never do bussiness with this 2 bank. sad.gif

Just read CIMB's faq on service tax,
6. I have applied for a CIMB Bank credit card several months ago but have yet to collect or activate the card, will I be charged the service tax?
Yes, as the tax is applicable to all credit cards upon issuance. Kindly note that any request for discontinuation of a credit
card must be submitted in writing to CIMB Bank 2 months prior to the anniversary date of your card to avoid service tax being charged.

Wondering whether they'll stop giving out preapproved cards now biggrin.gif

SCB VISA Infinite was previously available via application but now only offered to SCB's PB customers. You'll need to have RM250K in deposits with the bank to own this card now. I'm not sure whether you constitute this as easy and non-exclusive. For the past 1 year, I may have sighted like once or twice the SCB's VISA Infinite.

RHB VISA Infinite (It is not available for application) will be offered to customers having RM1 million in deposits with RHB. Sure very exclusive one. tongue.gif

However the offer discount over there is awesome , up to 70% discount and surprised Grand Carrera series gets 60% ! Quite a good deal .

erh, actually in comparision to the cards I had mentioned, the Amex Plat card is a doozie. But I do concur that its hard to maintain as people are becoming smarter and no longer willing to pay that much for a card. Further, its not fair to compare the Amex Plat to the Visa Infinite or World Mastercard, which were created to challenge the Centurion Card tongue.gif

That's why I only mentioned the CIMB Enrich World Mastercard and not their generic VI or WMC. Btw, tag normally has a 30% or so discount rate so a 60% on sale should be pretty normal hmm.gif

I thought we measure the "exclusive" by how hard to get the card and the number of people who carrying it. This VI and WMC only for CIMB & RHB or SCB customer or what ? Because they are only by invitation right? I mean, how can bank possibly know your account activity if you are not their customer? Maybe Reventon can advise? Did he become a CIMB customer and deposit some amount of money? then only the bank will send you the invitation ?

I thought VISA Black card & Courts Mastercard was created to challange Black Card? brows.gif

Yeah , for year 2006 it was , since 2007 LVMH has controlled the discount capped at max 20% for its own boutique and also their authorized agent like Watchshoppe , HourGlass , Wata Time etc. Thats why makes those discount offered this time to CIMB VI and WMC looks great brows.gif .

Are you sure RHB VI is offered to those having RM1mil deposit? If my memory serves me right, I was informed by an RM early this year that one needed to become PB customer, ie., having at least RM200k deposit or RM1mil loan + RM10k investment account with RHB, in order to be invited for RHB VI.

The above requirements may have changed over times.

The RHB website only mention about waiver fee for platinum or gold card if you're their PB customers.

Non muslim also can apply, better still because interest rate is not compound. Disadvantage is cannot use it at pub or places that prohibted by Islam.

You have to be a good paymaster. Banks will study your spending habit as well as credit exposure, and automatically review your CL. I guess it is a good time to demand higher CL if you wish to, as banks are trying hard to retain customers. Anyway, you shouldn't need to demand higher CL if you don't really use it. On the other hand, I asked banks to lower my CLs instead.
