Does it work the same like CIMB whereby in order to tie the PB CC to PBebank, one need to request for first time login from ATM?

The 8TV 8PM Chinese news reported that the tax will only be charged on every anniversary. Let say your credit card expires on 5/12, it means that the RM50 and RM25 (if applicable) will only be charged to your account in May next year.

David, under the last paragraph of item no. 7, 2x timeless bonus points are only applicable to Alliance Plat CCs, wheareas other lower category Alliance CCs get 1x timeless bonus point for overseas transaction.

Besides that, for retail spending in overseas using SCB CCs, SCB VI gives 5x choice points, Plat - 3x CPs, JustOne - 0.5x CP, Others - 1x CP.

Another important thing is that while almost all CCs give complementary travel insurance coverage for purchase of air tickets, SCB JustOne and Amex Gold cc do not provide this complementary insurance.

What do you expect these banks to say? "We have significant number of card cancellations"? Of course all these banks will say, "Not much impact or cancellations" because if Bank A says they have a lot of cancellation, then the rest of cardholders from Bank A will wonder, "Why so many people cancel card from my bank? Maybe other banks offer better deal. Maybe I should also cancel."
*
isnt it better if they were to say "there are numbers of consumers who has terminated their cc with us, however we are working hard and confident that we are able to help our consumers to retain their cards in order to enjoy....bla bla bla." <-- at least some efforts there.

perhaps they are lazy to come out something humble like that and being arrogant is what they do best by telling lies, pretty much like the "goment" who treated us like idiots.

I was watching the 8TV Chinese news too. They did not really mention the service would be charged on anniversary date. It actually came from the interviewees. Besides, it was reported that most banks have already sent out letters on service tax matters to customers. Lets wait and see. xmas.gif

Got an SMS from HSBC this morning to call one Ms Sree regarding my credit cards. She wanted to check if I bought diamonds in Canada, to which I said no. She then told me to stop using my Visa Platinum and they'll courier down a new one for me on Monday.

That's what I love about HSBC credit cards. smile.gif

That's good enough la. I mean wirelessdude could be occupied and could not answer the call. Tha fact that HSBC is proactive enough to detect anomalies in customers cc transactions and alert the customer is worth mentioning.

most likely they sms because they want to give the choice to the customer whether to make a roaming call (if indeed the cardholder was in Canada).
