QUOTE(tgeoklin @ Dec 19 2009, 06:19 AM) will not regret for life la Added on December 19, 2009, 10:15 am QUOTE(wirelessdude @ Dec 19 2009, 10:07 AM) Got an SMS from HSBC this morning to call one Ms Sree regarding my credit cards. She wanted to check if I bought diamonds in Canada, to which I said no. She then told me to stop using my Visa Platinum and they'll courier down a new one for me on Monday. but why don't tell call u instead That's what I love about HSBC credit cards. QUOTE(wirelessdude @ Dec 19 2009, 02:14 PM) Probably because the transaction took place at odd hours - I got 1 ring last night from their number ...think they realized it's probably a fraud and if so, I'd likely be sleeping at 1:30am. so they did try to call you firstAnyway, Ms. Sree didn't ask for any personal information at all. I just gave her my name and she asked me about those transactions, i.e. nothing about my card number, etc. Actually, I'd prefer to call them than they call me because they chance for fraud is lower - I have they're number and they're unprepared for my call. anyway, it's gd for them to hang up quickly and sms you instead |

QUOTE(elru @ Dec 19 2009, 10:36 PM) its a great card, however its also a little "too advance" ahead of our time. here is a blog about Just One card and at the bottom will come across a comment of one unhappy user, but i suppose its no big deal.Just One Titanium Card well, we are aware of this, yet not going to cancel the card |

QUOTE(kei18kun @ Dec 20 2009, 06:24 PM) seems like most bank wait until anniversary to charge RM50 for existing cards, shud workso want to ask whether if cancelled each year b4 anniversary to avoid the RM50 will work or not? Added on December 21, 2009, 9:35 am QUOTE(winner @ Dec 21 2009, 09:21 AM) 1st Jan? I hope so! A fresh RM600 rebate will be calculated according to your card anniversary date. no need slowly la, the max still RM600I have to wait till May/June next year only can reactivate and use the card. Next time I will use it slowly and not too aggressively, in order to enjoy the rebates throughout the year. if i can finish it in a day, i will I actually applied for the card in May and received the card in Jun, but my card expiry date is 03/11, so when will they give me fresh rebate This post has been edited by alexwsk: Dec 21 2009, 09:35 AM |

QUOTE(winner @ Dec 21 2009, 10:09 AM) What I meant was that I wouldn't use it too aggressively. For example, if I need to pay a bill amounting to RM8k, I will use my Alliance Visa Plat to pay the first RM5k and SCB JustOne for the balance RM3k. By doing this way, I can maximise the cash back of my Alliance Plat which is limited to RM68.75 for a maximum spending of RM5k on a monthly basis. Meanwhile, I can still slowly enjoy the cash back gained from SCB JustOne which is capped at RM600 on a yearly basis. I won't only use SCB JustOne alone for a bill costing more than RM5k. ic, that's bcoz u still hv alliance platYou will get a fresh rebate in April. Mine is slightly better. I received the card in June and the card anniversary date is in May. for me, if friday, swipe everything with JustOne if normal days, swipe AMEX Gold 1st if can use it if that's the case, I can get the fresh rebate earlier than u |

hehe, i managed to squeezed another RM13++ from JustOne
my last transaction before reaching RM600 is on last friday, 5% for RM868 so total rebate from JustOne = RM613++ wondering whether I can get more rebates since my billing date is on 10th next month |

QUOTE(ronnie @ Dec 22 2009, 09:28 PM) I totally agree... Alliance having NIL admin charges is totally not right. that's bs for me, MBB charge 1%, contrary to the 0.5% on the first pageI was informed by MBB Customer Service that MBB only charge what Visa/MC forex conversion rate only. no admin fee. AMEX does have admin fee. i went to Best Western Hotel in Wuhan twice, both time in the receipt the amount is shown in RM and RMB guest what, each time when posted, the amount is 0.999 something percent more than the amount in RM the CS defnitely don't know what are they talking about Added on December 23, 2009, 9:43 am QUOTE(hye @ Dec 22 2009, 09:30 PM) who cares about BIMB Added on December 23, 2009, 9:45 am QUOTE(hye @ Dec 22 2009, 05:51 PM) Just now when I called the bank to cancel my credit card, the CS officer asked "May I know whay are you cancelling the card?" and which bank is that I answered with "The same reason why all Malaysians are now cancelling the card - Don't want to pay service tax!" The CS officer laughed and proceed to assist me with my card cancellation. This post has been edited by alexwsk: Dec 23 2009, 09:45 AM |

QUOTE(FD2r @ Dec 23 2009, 09:47 AM) this is from my personal experience, try at ur on risk, every card holder got only 1 chances.. I think might b repost.. -monitor closely ur rebate, once up to RM599, swap a big spending into single transaction. eg 5k on friday, u will get rm250 instead of RM1. personally i manage to get extra of around 170 rebate coz I swap a 3.8k on last transaction which i should around RM10 only.. Happy spending.. i shud hv hold my last transaction until I can find something big |

QUOTE(winner @ Dec 23 2009, 08:31 PM) If you take the risk and don't receive full rebate for the big transaction, then you will get 0.5x choice point for every RM1 spent only. ic, mine is RM613.43, last transaction full rebateTo be exact, my rebate stopped at RM618. I was not given FULL rebate for the last transaction that received cash back. so i think they hv a threshold of maybe RM18 or so Added on December 24, 2009, 9:34 am QUOTE(GHz @ Dec 24 2009, 07:21 AM) Wow, that nice. QUOTE(teikwing @ Dec 24 2009, 10:48 AM) AFAIK, Stanchart will absorb the RM50 service tax for new CC applications (Standard Chartered Business Visa Platinum & Gold Credit Card) and the CC comes with annual fee waiver as well (Free for first 2 years, subsequent year - call to waive). they are not really absorbing the tax, just that they reward you with more $$$ for your first swipe |
