CIMB already offer me a platinum long ago. However PBB is very cocky not to upgrade my current gold to platinum, even after request & platinum card user proof. Just sent an email to complaint kau kau. Any advice guys?

Well, it is up to their discretion, they don't have to offer you one just because another bank has offered you one.

And as others have said, you can show you're dissatisfaction by terminating your banking relationship with them tongue.gif

The lowest point needed to redeem a RM50 voucher from Hong Leong Bank is 12,400. Not a very good deal i'd say.

Agreed.

10k points should be the norm. Anything above is not too good, anything below is a bonus smile.gif

Nothing is so great about Platinum cards today!

Some do have genuine additional benefits right? Like MBB's (and few others) can help u get box seats at MPO a lil easier, among other things

Generally Platinum cards comes with 'equivalent' priviledges. E.g. Yes, you can get MPO tickets but they are not your regular cheap tickets ... more like the suite tickets. Better to use cards that provide direct discounts that save your money.

Yeah those are for the box tickets. Boxes aren't sonically superior in the hall, they're mainly good for having not to sit directly next to other ppl, as well as to look around n have others see you since you stand out so much. Which is what the rich might like, hence why it's a platinum benefit.

Was just giving one example, showing that there are still a few additional benefits for the platinum card which are designed for, well, ppl whom platinum cards were meant for.

@lara_

It seems like the 2x and 5x are features of the card, doesn't seem like there's a definite ending period for it

Diner's Club (yes, i know it's actually a charge card) sent me a new card which gives me updated "Discover" and "Pulse" features. Received the card today in the mail. Thing is, I was looking at my old card, and it does already have these 2 logos on the back of the card.

Not that I know what the above is anyways, the thing I'm interested in is that they dated the letter and card in December 09. And it's specifically stated that GST will only be charged in Dec 2010.

Which got me thinking, banks should actually have done this. Might just get ppl to stop cancelling the card since they can wait to end of next year. And if the card is decent enough, ppl will use it, accumulate points and eventually decide to stick to the card. tongue.gif
