One thing to compare is whether all the cards were Visa or a mix between Visa and MC..

QUOTE(David83 @ Dec 27 2009, 08:25 AM) Am I being offered a DA Platinum Mastercard? I saw an entry called "Graduate Mastercard Platinum" in my CIMBClicks? Yeah that's a DA Platinum Mastercard.IIRC, my annual income does not qualify for it and my credit limit for my DA Gold Mastercard was just increased last month. Hope it's just a mistake. By the way, I'll cancel DA Gold next year once my installament programme ends. Anyone aware whether the petrol rebates are going to continue? |

QUOTE(deeplyheartbroken @ Dec 28 2009, 11:12 AM) Problem is I have installments in with the bloody PBB credit card. First time heard Gold & Platinum have RM 5k below credit limit. For my case, each level of the credit card got upgraded, it is at least RM 10k extra credit limit. yeah PBB has a RM100 early settlement fee. Wanted to cancel but also have an easy payment on it. No point settling and cancelling since the cancellation fee more than the gov service tax The thing is PBB has one of the lowest income requirement for Platinum & I believe CIMB has the same or higher requirement. Somemore I pay promptly & no bad records in CCRIS or whatever. I don't see any reason for rejecting my request seeing this should be the time to preserve customers. Darn, thinking of cancelling but the installments also headache. Some banks will impose a 'special' cancellation (pay in one short) charges on easy-payment installments. A few SCB officers told me about it. There is a fine line clause on easy payment transactions. |

RM50 Parkson voucher only 8000 MBB TP.
CIMB gave me a 50% credit limit increase. However likely going to cancel my DA Visa as there is zero promotions on it. No more grocery discounts DA MC is a KIV 1) 5% petrol rebate on 1st day of the month no more according to Contact Centre (no memo from HQ) 2) Only 2% petrol rebate on all days will continue. I don't drive a 3L guzzler, so I don't think I can pump RM2500 of petrol in a year just to offset the tax (means zero gain) Some discounts are nice though. 1) Grocery discounts etc. 2) Guardian 3) Starbucks CIMB is a really a Mastercard driven business... |

QUOTE(SnoWFisH @ Dec 31 2009, 11:27 AM) I saw today's ad in newspaper that 5% rebate is still available for CIMB Islamic Cards until 31st March 2010. Does this apply to DA as well? Think this is CIMB Islamic Petronas Mastercard right? The equivalent card is CIMB Petronas Mastercard. Direct Access will not benefit. |

Call them and enquire on the charge. Is it the card "annual" fee or did you sign up for something without realising it....

QUOTE(cenkudu @ Feb 14 2010, 08:11 AM) question about upgrading gold to platinum card. the situation: we have a platinum card from other bank but our salary does not qualify for platinum at the bank that we plan to upgrade. I heard we can't using other bank card to upgrade unless we cancel current gold card and re-apply for new card using other platinum card from other bank. is it true? not true. got an upgrade just by attaching other cards. But the bank itself got problem. Treated the upgrade card as a new card. So have to manually canacel the old card (which is another headache).so pay slip only the solution, just to confirm. |

QUOTE(deeplyheartbroken @ Feb 15 2010, 08:50 AM) Asked for such upgrade before at the card centre. The officer told me, there is no such thing as attaching other banks' card to upgrade your current card. The only other way is attaching your 2 months pay slips (or you have to spend significantly & constantly to get their notice, or so I believe). Was so disappointed with tiger bank on this. Planning to cancel the card when my EPP finished. QUOTE(hye @ Feb 15 2010, 09:59 AM) Actually if I am not mistaken, it would be the same case if you went to other banks as well. (Not just 'tiger' bank) I believe their policy must have changed. Especially taking into account the fallout from the GST. If another bank gave you a Plat, then they must consider whether you are a worth keeping But then I submitted to their branch not their card centre. If the front end rejects you, no chance for the backend people to review right? Insist that they submit it and see whether they reject or not. The guy did say likely will get rejected if no payslip but I say try also since I am considering which to cancel |

QUOTE(llamaeengy @ Feb 23 2010, 11:27 PM) How hard is it to apply a credit card nowadays? Sounds weird. Any previous loans or stuff? Maybe you can check your CCRIS report from Bank Negara.I've been working for 8 months with annual salary 24k. I've tried to apply cc from many banks including hsbc, citibank, alliance, public and cimb, all my applications have been rejected. I even opened a current account at HSBC under grad pack coz might have bigger chance for approval but still failed. My friend with same salary and started working almost same time like me has already successfully applied a CC from alliance bank and that was his first attempt. Is it because of me the person and i get rejected all the time but i've got a quite ok photo on my IC This post has been edited by zenquix: Feb 24 2010, 12:41 AM |

No way to get it online that I am aware of.im paying car loan but the car is under my family's name so it doesnt count i think. other than that, i think i am far away from debt and bankcruptcy btw can i check my CCRIS report online?
