David, under the last paragraph of item no. 7, 2x timeless bonus points are only applicable to Alliance Plat CCs, wheareas other lower category Alliance CCs get 1x timeless bonus point for overseas transaction.

Besides that, for retail spending in overseas using SCB CCs, SCB VI gives 5x choice points, Plat - 3x CPs, JustOne - 0.5x CP, Others - 1x CP.

Another important thing is that while almost all CCs give complementary travel insurance coverage for purchase of air tickets, SCB JustOne and Amex Gold cc do not provide this complementary insurance.

The 8TV 8PM Chinese news reported that the tax will only be charged on every anniversary. Let say your credit card expires on 5/12, it means that the RM50 and RM25 (if applicable) will only be charged to your account in May next year.
*
I was watching the 8TV Chinese news too. They did not really mention the service would be charged on anniversary date. It actually came from the interviewees. Besides, it was reported that most banks have already sent out letters on service tax matters to customers. Lets wait and see. xmas.gif

lol, can reapply again mah if really need  rclxm9.gif

I guess he was just joking by exaggerating the situation. Even for high category cards like SCB VI and Amex Plat charge card, you can also reapply for them if you have terminated them. Unless it is something as precious as SCB JustOne, you won't be able to get it again as SCB no longer accepts new application for this card and its reissue has been postponed to an indefinite date. drool.gif

Can the amount to be transferred more than the statement balance considering that we might have future transaction on going. would like to utilize this but normally I don't have any outstanding balance as payment was made full every month
*
If you don't have outstanding balance, how to do transfer?! That is the basic requirement. smile.gif

the answer is cannot since its clearly stated u need to submit ur current statement...maybe the trick will be u don't pay for that month loh
Bear in mind that a rule of minimum transfer amount applies.

QUOTE(kei18kun @ Dec 20 2009, 06:24 PM)
still can since public bank bt doesn't need statement for application
You still need to have outstanding balance in Card A, in order to do BT from Card A to Card B.

any1 know when will my 600 quota being replenish, yearly means every 1st jan will replenish or hav to wait for a year..??!
*
1st Jan? I hope so! A fresh RM600 rebate will be calculated according to your card anniversary date.

I have to wait till May/June next year only can reactivate and use the card. Next time I will use it slowly and not too aggressively, in order to enjoy the rebates throughout the year. smile.gif

no need slowly la, the max still RM600
if i can finish it in a day, i will tongue.gif
What I meant was that I wouldn't use it too aggressively. For example, if I need to pay a bill amounting to RM8k, I will use my Alliance Visa Plat to pay the first RM5k and SCB JustOne for the balance RM3k. By doing this way, I can maximise the cash back of my Alliance Plat which is limited to RM68.75 for a maximum spending of RM5k on a monthly basis. Meanwhile, I can still slowly enjoy the cash back gained from SCB JustOne which is capped at RM600 on a yearly basis. I won't only use SCB JustOne alone for a bill costing more than RM5k. smile.gif

I actually applied for the card in May and received the card in Jun, but my card expiry date is 03/11, so when will they give me fresh rebate rclxub.gif
You will get a fresh rebate in April. Mine is slightly better. I received the card in June and the card anniversary date is in May. tongue.gif

winner,

r u sure on that, coz last time when i apply my card, the sales person told me i will get my 'quota' replenish yearly, they said cut off is 31/12? I already long finish my quota.. hav to wait till july..  cry.gif never mind, i will try to purchase something using this card on 2/1/10. I will update u all if there is a rebate..
The last batch of SCB JustOne was approved around Aug. It doesn't really make sense if those cards are given only 4 months to enjoy the yearly rebates. I wish to get a fresh RM600 rebate in Jan too. biggrin.gif Anyhow, you try and update us. tongue.gif

QUOTE(Dannyl @ Dec 21 2009, 05:19 PM)
Hey that means we can apply for the American Express for the 15% rebate until end of February... then cancel it before anniversary date of late next year.

If we get approved in the next 2 weeks, that is.
I don't think you can get your card in 2 weeks. MBB and Amex are busy processing card cancellation cases. When you receive the card, say in Jan, you will be charged an upfront service tax immediately and the maximum payout of RM4mil has finished too. smile.gif

QUOTE(DarReNz @ Dec 21 2009, 06:39 PM)
have to reconfirm this if our cards expire in 2012 let's say July whether it will be charged next year or 2012 as anniversary date does not mean expiry date
Anniversary = Yearly

hehe, i managed to squeezed another RM13++ from JustOne
my last transaction before reaching RM600 is on last friday, 5% for RM868
so total rebate from JustOne = RM613++

wondering whether I can get more rebates since my billing date is on 10th next month hmm.gif
*
If my memory serves me right, my JustOne stopped giving me cash back when the accumulated rebates reached RM610 approximately.

SCB JustOne supplementary card has a different RM600 cash rebate which is not shared with the principal card.

I was even told that each principal card were allowed to apply for up to 6 supplementary cards, and every supplementary card was entitled to RM600 each. However, I can't confirm this as SCB had already stopped issuing this card when I wanted to apply for supplementary cards in Aug.

i shud hv hold my last transaction until I can find something big
*
If you take the risk and don't receive full rebate for the big transaction, then you will get 0.5x choice point for every RM1 spent only.

To be exact, my rebate stopped at RM618. I was not given FULL rebate for the last transaction that received cash back.

I've been using maybank visa for about 5/6 months already. Total interest paid was about rm25, and total i gain from treatpoints, the value was about rm70.
That means i've profited rm70-rm25 = rm45 by using a credit card. If everyone are doing like me, surely the company bankrupt.. haha
*
RM1 spending = 1 point ---> This is what you deserve to earn. In order to get TPs worth RM70, you need to spend about RM15k. I don't think you can say you make a lot from cc. If the card gives you more than 1x point for each RM1 spent or gives you cash rebates on top of the reward points, then it could be a different story.

Well, my point is, instead of buying the thing with cash, use credit card to pay it. And make sure you pay it back on time. Must have a good discipline.

Eh...paying RM25 interest to bank = DISCIPLINE. First time I hear this. biggrin.gif

Yeah, paid only RM25 to the bank and gained RM70 back. Profit of Rm45.  thumbup.gif

If you pay in full on time, you should have saved the RM25 interest.

I called Citibank last week to cancel my card but they said the service fee will only be charged after the date on my card..

eg "Valid thru Aug 2008 to Aug 2011"

That means they will only charge the service fee on Sept 2010..

Im wondering is that the same with other bank as well?
Coz im very lazy to call up to them and so troublesome to fax or go to credit card center tongue.gif
Futhermore i still have some points or cash rebate (UOB OneCard) left.
*
We have been talking about this many times. For existing cards, service tax will be charged on anniversary date. It looks like you were not paying attention. biggrin.gif

Hello.. Anyone has Citibank Platinum Card now?

Mind to share experience of your fee waiver? Because it is not cheap, about RM600.

What requirement for fee waiver? how many times have to swap?
*
I owned Citibank Visa Platinum before. It was FOC for first eyar. AFs for second year onwards were waived by swiping at least 24 times of any amount per annum.

QUOTE(MilesAndMore @ Dec 26 2009, 01:34 AM)
If i'm not mistaken, Citibank Platinum series credit card all comes with a minimum credit line of RM30k.
*
No. Minimum CL for Citibank Plat is ONLY RM20k. On the other hand, you can get a CL of as high as RM450k for Citibank Plat.

QUOTE(epalbee3 @ Dec 26 2009, 02:12 AM)
I heard some standard chartered plat has credit limit of 7k only.
*
I don't think you will be able to get a CL of RM7k for SCB Plat. As far as I know, SCB is unable to reduce the CL below its minimum level. For example, minimum CL for SCB Titanum is already RM15k. Therefore, CL of its Plat series should be more than that.

What's the reason you cancelled it?
*
Not much benefit. I owned Citibank Visa Plat for more than 1.5 years. I used the card quite a lot in overseas to enjoy 2x points. After that Citibank removed the promotion and I also obtained other better cards like SCB JustOne Titanium MC and Alliance Visa Plat at that time. Therefore, I cancelled the card.

alliance bank rejected my application for Younique card, my annual salary 30k, i've provided all documents even with epf statement....is it because of the rm50 tax they rejected me? sad.gif
Alliance Bank sometimes can be very strict to first timers. A lot of freshies have been rejected for Alliance Younique MC.

QUOTE(yngwie @ Dec 26 2009, 11:26 AM)
anyone of you guys plan to cancel CC due to the the 50 bucks GST issue?
Many people here had already cancelled some of their CCs even prior to government's confirmation on service tax mechanism.

IMHO .... the SCB JustOne card. The 2-in-1 function comes in handy when withdrawing cash overseas.
QUOTE(epalbee3 @ Dec 26 2009, 12:37 PM)
To enjoy annual fee waiver, spend at least RM15,000 p.a.

easy to achieve?
No doubt SCB JustOne is the best cc we have ever had. But it is pointless to mention it again as SCB has stopped issuing this card.
