I really feel insecure with credit card..what happen if the cashier/waiter jot down the credit card no and the 3 pin no on the reverse side of the card. They can use the info on internet transaction.

Can anybody expert here enlighten me here on this.

Most cc (except scb) comes with extra security features for online transaction such as MasterCard SecureCode and Verified by Visa. Although not all websites support those features yawn.gif

Well ... finally the official T&C is out from the bank. Probably they received a lot of feedback concerning the lack of information concerning this product. OK ... let me try to add on based on what I know as well.

- Fee for current acct maintenance is not there but you definately need to keep some inflows and outflows in your account within a 12 month span. Otherwise they will deemed as dormant ... whether this will affect the status of the JustOne is still unclear.
- Cheque book are mandatory items although you don't put in any money. The RM2.75 will be charged to your cc account instead.
- If you have money in your account, spendings will be deducted from here and then the card will function as a credit card.

If you ask me, just put in some money before the 12 months is up. At least you will avoid your account to be dormant. I suspect the card is actually a credit card with debit card like facilities.

I'll be signing up soon for this card and let you guys know of the feedback later. Unless someone beat me to it.
*
RM3.75 to be exact, it will be charge for the 1st time only
if it will use the balance in current account 1st, then i'll always keep the balance at zero biggrin.gif but will transfer $ into it and pay the cc thru it
must make sure how to perform credit transaction, else no cash rebate
i think the card can survive without the current account coz this product cannot be seen in the current account category, only in the cc category

My application is still pending, will update soon

Technically yes anyone can do this and get away with the numbers on your card. You're supposed to be protected in several ways. The first is that most internet sales will require your billing address that matches your credit card billing address. Second is you're supposed to have a limit on unauthorized transactions of RM250 only, this is Bank Negara's ruling.

I've heard bad things about the unauthorized transactions. Malaysian banks supposedly charge the customer first and ask questions later. Unfortunately Malaysian customer protection rights are almost non-existent so beware lah, you could possibly get into big trouble.

Hi, does anyone here knows actually how does a bank waive ur cc annual fee?

I heard tat from my dad bout the waiving of annual fee. But it depends on the individuals. So, just wondering if there's anyway or reasons that i can use to waive the cc's annual fee? Like maybe swipping the card a few times in a year?

My dad's OCBC Platinum card is being charged around RM600 if im not mistaken, and i just got a supp from it. So, i'm just thinking is there any way for me to reduce the annual fee.

I believe OCBC Platinum Mastercard is by invitation only, correct ? And by being OCBC Premier customer, one will definitely get the invitation. Your dad has to call their CS try to waive the annual fee.

I've never had OCBC platinum or any supplementary card before. But here's how I get my annual fees waived on my cards last time before I had any "free for life" card.

Call the card center. Pretend to be angry and tell the CS in an angry tone. "I want to cancel your card!". CS asks you why, you say cos you don't want to be charged an annual fee. You don't want to pay for something that other banks are giving for free. Other banks giving free annual fee. So you will bring your business to other banks. Usually, the CS will tell you they will waive or cancel the annual fee.

..previously it's not like this, they just changed it last year...

cant we consumer have any say before they change the rule that definitely not to our advantage; did they announce it before hand and invite comment from the public or consumer groups.. i suppose no, right?
*
No, the only changes was the introduction of tiered interest rates and the removal of 20 days interest-free period for new purchases for customers with a carry forward balance.

Our rights as customers are mainly the choice of changing card types/card providers or giving up the service if we are not happy with the new terms.

Bro ... the folks in this forum do not encourage such tactics coz we got more class than that. More often than not we got our AF waived without resorting to pretending to be "angry" or stooping to such low tactics.

I agree with this. There are plenty free-for-life cards out there, just cancel the card and switch lah. Its so simple.
What you're doing is making life miserable for all customer service staffs.

Finally the sleeping giant awakes? Good news for their existing customers. However, the promo period is too short for a new customer to consider applying for a PBB cc.

Second that. Just talk in soft nice tone and request for AF waiver. If they don't give, is ok, just ask to waive the fee and cancel the card. No need to be desperate housewives and beg.

@adrianteo,
You can always check with the bank what the requirements are to get the AF waived. If they can't offer you a waiver, it's really entirely up to you and ur dad to decide if you want to pay the RM600 p/year.

@HughieRmX,
General online transaction? Meaning, transacting in foreign currency or local currency? If it's in foreign currency, I suggest you go for UOB because they don't charge additional 'service' fees when U do a foreign transaction, unlike the rest of the banks.

I'd rather go for CIMB DA Mastercard which gives 2% all the time, every petrol brand. Plus the card is free for life.
or
RHB TravelMoney - 5% on the first weekend, and 2% on any other day, every petrol brand too.

Maybank Petronas card is good for points only. I'm not sure if you can use Bonuslink card at the station if u use this card...

pls read the terms and conditions before recommending a card.
