Hi, do HSBC got CDM for credit card payment? Thanks
*
Yes, just like any other banks you can pay for your credit card bill via the CDM. But in the last couple of months, i have seen more people using their credit card to withdraw cash advance from ATM than paying their credit card via CDM ohmy.gif laugh.gif

For RHB Visa Infinite, you need to be their Priority Banking member and have a total deposit of about RM500K. I used to ask and RM200K deposit only entitles you to a complimentary Gold card and a Platinum RM350K - if I remember it correctly.

BTW ... RHB cc CS are very crappy. Maybe for the sake of collecting the card I'll make the effort but to use their CC ? No way man!

Agreed. RHB Bank certainly deserves to compete in the "worst bank" category, if there is such award biggrin.gif

QUOTE(hye @ Mar 13 2009, 09:10 AM)
One more thing, HSBC CS called me to counteroffer as I wanted to cancel their card. They gave me an unconditional 5 years annual fee waiver ! (I think someone here also got this offer) I'm usually not a fan of keeping cards which I don't use ... so I'm still pondering whether to keep the card or still cancel it. Any opinions ?
*
What card is that ? HSBC Platinum VISA ? HSBC do offer some real good promotion sometimes. I'd keep it if i were you.

Ohh ..... I go show them proof ... I lazy go get bank statement leh ~
*
For me, i never submit my bank statement when applying credit card even if they request for it. To be my bank statement is personal and should be confidential. Nobody can view my account details other than me and the staff of the bank i hold the account with. Should they insist for my bank statement i would just walk off.

QUOTE(hye @ Mar 15 2009, 07:27 PM)
Came back from MATTA fair today with an information. In case, anyone wanting to apply for the Worldcard from CIMB/DA using their existing cc, you will need as preexisting credit limit

- 100K for CIMB WorldCard (I think RockIron Reventon mentioned this before)
- 80K for DirectAccess WorldCard
*
Crazy but i'd still like to give it a try someday. LOL !

Any idea about SCB VISA Infinite ? What's the minimum CL needed if we apply using an existing card ?

i think 40k is sufficient for Scb visa infinite. The income requirement is 150k, it's same with Hsbc plat visa.

Then i'm going to try next year. Thanks bro.

How you guys can get a card with 50k CL?
You all are business man?
As I know the bank would always giving CL based on their income.
The calculation would be something like:-
50/3 = 17k mo
*
Not really just based on income. If you have a fat bank account you'll be given a huge CL too.

QUOTE(JamesPond @ Mar 16 2009, 11:36 PM)
All Sifu, please share any other way to increase your CL besides you really earn a lots of money.....

Yes, big fat bank account with the bank you are going to apply for their credit card.

Let say I want to increase my credit limit, and I deposit big amount, do you think they will approve? What account normally to deposit? FD? If I have 50k FD can I ask for 50k credit limit?
*
So you think that if you have RM50k worth of FD with the respective bank they will approve you a Platinum credit card with RM50k of CL ? That's a definite no-no. The minimum requirement to become HSBC Premier customer is to have RM200k of deposit with them and they will approve you a "Premier Mastercard" with only RM40k of CL. Say that you have RM1 Million of FD with HSBC, yes, of course you can request to them to increase you CL. Just don't expect to get 1:1.

I remember one of the forummer mention before about the 1:1 FD tied Credit Card CL, not really sure about that because none of my card are FD tied. Anyone here can confirm this myth ?
*
Oh, now that you mention it. I think i have read about it too. If my memory serves me correctly it's AMBank.

QUOTE(GHz @ Mar 17 2009, 07:54 AM)
The quote below taken from Public Bank Website. They can do 1:1 based on FD for platinum cards. biggrin.gif
*
I stand corrected.

Public Bank is probably the best local bank in Malaysia, very professional and super efficient. But their credit card is a shame sad.gif

Today my lowest cc CL was RM45k and highest already 6 digits.

I can see CIMB World Mastercard and Standard Chartered VISA Infinite right around the corner drool.gif

@MilesAndMore,
PBB admits their core business is not in its consumer credit cards.  They see that as a bigger risk than profit hence it makes sense the bank doesn't actually spend too much $ promoting their cards.

Yeah, that's too bad. Public Bank is the ONLY local bank that i hold an account with sad.gif

I had the Premier b4 as well. I didn't find anything special about it so I got out of the club. It didn't help that the HSBC Premier card was no more than a souped up Platinum despite having the "World" word on the card. (My RM didn't even know what the "World" word means) I might as well target something like Infinite or the Worldcard series ... the fact that lots of ppl hold Platinum nowadays (thanks to bank lowering their Platinum cc entry req), this card type lost its exclusivity.
Platinum credit card is already not exclusive since many years ago in many western countries, Singapore even.

The HSBC Premier status is especially helpful if you travel a lot. It really helps rclxms.gif I'm talking about being a HSBC Premier customer, not the credit card by the way.

Pretty sure you meant Alliance Bank instead of Allianz Bank. We do have Allianz Insuranse from Germany here in Malaysia though biggrin.gif

QUOTE(kuya @ Mar 22 2009, 08:14 PM)
Alliance bank customer support ask me to swipe my gold card at least 12x per year to enjoy yearly fee waive while on that particular year while EON bank ask me to swipe my platinum card 24x per year for a yearly fee waive irregardless of what amount. Does other bank also moving to this direction as well for a yearly fee waiver?
*
Someone did mention HSBC will automatically waive the annual fee provided you have swiped the card at least 12 times in the last calender year. It is not written anywhere nor in their own website. So i'm not sure how true that is.

hm, watch out the term and condition from Rocky , lol.
request for upgrade to plat maybe possible, i hold master & visa plat, Amex plat cc and gold charge from Mbb,all heavily abused card tongue.gif for many years already. The only thing is i doesn't wish to pay 2k for the annual fee. Should help if call in to plat charge card call centre and express the interest on that plat charge card. Problem is maybe no AF waiver will be offered if request accepted.
*
About the RM2k annual fee, any benefits associated with this card besides just some extra point and some memberships to some clubs ? More and more people are ditching the AMEX Plat Charge in favor of AMEX Gold Charge in the States since it doesn't offer much anymore since recently. USA issued AMEX Plat Charge comes with many benefits such as airline lounge access (extremely popular in US) and complimentary seat upgrade to domestic First Class and much more. There was some complains from some frequent flyers that AMEX Plat Charge holders soon won't get to enjoy these anymore.

You don't need a savings account with Standard Chartered to pay your Standard Chartered credit card bill. What other users suggested is that you can pay your Standard Chartered credit card bill through IBG via any other bank that has a branch near where you live.

u ask kfc management y want take CC, since every1 is paying CASH...
*
May be they just want to follow other countries, and make CC the main mode of payment. I just wonder when they will make CC as a payment option for local taxi biggrin.gif Singapore taxi is accepting CC as a mode of payment for quite a while now. Taxi in New York is not only accepting CC, they are offering a small personal TV for passengers behind too tongue.gif

QUOTE(hye @ Mar 28 2009, 10:50 PM)
Burger King outlet accepts cc as well (I go to the one in KLCC). Machines used to be working well and then only 1 works. Now they just tell me that the machine is not working at the moment and it has been the case for many weeks already.
Another problem with local fast food chain restaurant is that not every counter accept CC as a mode of payment mad.gif

cc terminal in malaysia quite slow la i think...
when i shopped in london, frankfurt & paris, their terminal really fast...it's really take only a swipe..straight forward receipt will come out....i also quite surprise since the card is from local bank (i used ambank mastercard & bank islam mastercard & citibank visa)....

Yeah, this is true. I'm not too sure about London, Frankfurt or Paris but this is true in USA. Their machine is really fast and you'll be impressed !

QUOTE(he-sham @ Mar 30 2009, 03:17 PM)
plus they always prefer using card rather than cash....most of customer use card....even 5 Euro KFC meal...
Saying so would be a little bit overexaggerate but yeah, most people in the West use CC most of the time smile.gif

Thanks. So every 200 point you get RM1 & every RM1 spend you get 2 points. So the rebate is 1%. Very good. thumbup.gif
*
All the banks here should offer more choices of credit card and for the cash back credit card, it should be AT LEAST 1%, like those in USA. And the cash back can either be credited to our savings/checking account held with the bank or cheque or cash. Accumulate rewards point is not really my cup of tea. HSBC got many interesting vouchers but the down side is the points expire once every three years. Citibank rewards point is evergreen but the redemption points needed is kind of expensive.

QUOTE(cute_boboi @ Apr 1 2009, 02:37 PM)
Plat nowadays is like Gold card 10 years ago.
Very true. In US they have VISA Ultima, a kind of high society card that is not availble in Malaysia yet. If i'm not mistaken, VISA Ultima is not yet offered by any banks in Singapore as we speak. So don't expect this card to arrives at our shore anytime soon.

The 7% rebate is applicable for petrol purchase only and you must swipe the card at the kiosk. It's a similar offer they offered last year with their E$aver savings debit Mastercard. It also offers 5% at selected hypermarkets. Please refer to the "debit card" thread for more information.

I wonder how everyone of you thinks that PLAT is easy to get. I've been a classic holder with a credit limit of 12k (applied using FD) for more than a year now. How can I try to apply for a plat card? Given that I have constant salary credited to my bank account every month.
*
You only need to earn at least RM60k/pa to qualify for SCB Platinum credit card. Compared to a few years ago, yeah, it's really easy to secure a Platinum credit card.

QUOTE(conxtion @ Apr 1 2009, 06:00 PM)
Just go to those CC counters you find in shopping malls and ask them to apply for you.  UOB plat should be easy to get, income required is RM18k.
*
If you are talking about UOB ONE Platinum then very sorry to tell you that is not a real Platinum credit card. The name of the credit card is more of a marketing gimmick.
