Requirement for Platinum is RM80k p/annum whereas Gold is RM36k p/annum.
Gold card doesn't seem v difficult to achieve. But am quite sure many will be able to get Platinum even if they don't meet the RM80k criteria. This post has been edited by tinkerbel: May 27 2009, 01:29 PM |

why take platinum and its annual fees when most gold cards are free for life?
similarly, why take amex and its annual fees when visa/master is free for life? |

its fashion...just like why buy Honda/Toyota when there is Proton and Perodua. I don't really see much difference between the two cards. You still need to pay same amount of interest, promotions are almost the same...etc.

QUOTE(tinkerbel @ May 27 2009, 01:29 PM) If I am not mistaken, HSBC Plat requires the highest income eligibility (RM150k per annum) among all platinum cards in Malaysia.Added on May 27, 2009, 2:48 pm QUOTE(Aeon_Clock @ May 27 2009, 01:17 PM) I'd rather go for CIMB DA Mastercard which gives 2% all the time, every petrol brand. Plus the card is free for life. You can’t accumulate Bonuslink points at Petronas. Petronas has its own Mesra card. Points required for gift redemption in Mesra are lower than Bonuslink. You can accumulate both MBB cc and Mesra points at Petronas. Among all the petrol stations, only Shell affiliates with Bonuslink.or RHB TravelMoney - 5% on the first weekend, and 2% on any other day, every petrol brand too. Maybank Petronas card is good for points only. I'm not sure if you can use Bonuslink card at the station if u use this card... pls read the terms and conditions before recommending a card. In terms of cash rebate for all purchases + reward points + unlimited promotion period, Alliance and SCB Titanium, in my opinion, could be a better choice at this point in time. I couldn't have agreed more. Other promotions may offer higher rebate but they are likely to be temporary of nature, supports limited merchants and in some cases quite complex for the end consumer to fully benefit from the rebates. You don't want to be hopping from one card to another just to enjoy the short term rebates. This post has been edited by hye: May 27 2009, 04:40 PM |

QUOTE(bingozero @ May 27 2009, 12:54 PM) If you using Shell petrol, apply for Citibank Shell credit card. It is rebate 5% on petrol and 1.5% on retail Hmm .. I see. I came across this bank's offer during roadshow at Lowyat Plaza but yet the agent aren't been able to explain to me in detail how does it work out. In the end, I give up .. since they are confused with it as well. Citibank Shell credit card QUOTE(tinkerbel @ May 27 2009, 01:03 PM) @HughieRmX, Greetings tinkerbel,General online transaction? Meaning, transacting in foreign currency or local currency? If it's in foreign currency, I suggest you go for UOB because they don't charge additional 'service' fees when U do a foreign transaction, unlike the rest of the banks. Hmm .. I would say both. But mostly 70% will be on local currency, the rest foreign. Thanks for the suggestion, really appreciate that. I guess that card is not suitable for me right ? .. QUOTE(Aeon_Clock @ May 27 2009, 01:17 PM) Shell CitiBank Card requirements for the 5% rebate:- Thanks for the quick brief over there. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « I'd rather go for CIMB DA Mastercard which gives 2% all the time, every petrol brand. Appreciate that .. and to my surprise I thought what they offer are flat rate but now after reading this it totally changed my thinking. Guess that the standard % of rebate will range in between 2% to 3% for most of the CC that involves in the petrol rebate concept. QUOTE(WaCKy-Angel @ May 27 2009, 01:20 PM) Hmm .. heard of it but haven't encounter any friend of mine using it. What so special about it anyway ? .. Rebate for GSC tickets or extra VIP service ? |

QUOTE(HughieRmX @ May 27 2009, 09:02 PM) Greetings, Yea doesn't matter. But it's only for the first 6 months from the time you get your card. I suppose it's their way of sucking you into using their card, accumulating points with it, then feeling reluctant to change back to other cards =pDoesn't matter what brand of petrol is it ? Thanks for the info. |

QUOTE(HughieRmX @ May 27 2009, 09:36 PM) What makes it to be like this ? .. Based on promotion period ? .. What will happen to those previous owner who applied the card for such purpose .. This promotion period applies to previous owners as well. But, so far, RHB keeps extending the promotion period. Actually the promotion ended last February. |
