I am using RHB card for petrol rebates, its the same as DA but on the 1st week of the month, I get 5% rebate instead of 2%. When the free annual waiver is over, I'll get DA which is free for life

I would suggest you don't waste time with points. Get cash rebate better. Although it amounts to about exactly the same, getting cash rebate will give you better choices if you wish to spend the savings. For points, there are only so few items you can use it on. Not to mention that you need to accumulate a certain amount of points before getting a particular item.

ok, my first card ever is going to expire...I'm not thinking of renewing this coz I got another free-for-life card from the same bank. Do I need to go and cancel it or just leave it be?

QUOTE(adrianteo @ May 24 2009, 01:08 AM) Hi, just wondering, does any bank actually send out credit cards to your house even if you din apply it? Receive a credit card from Citibank lately but don think i actually applied it. no, they won't send if u didn't apply. But I heard of getting free cards out of mortgage loans or similar loans. Did you apply for anything else from that bank?QUOTE(Putraskyline @ May 24 2009, 01:15 AM) Gold Class for GSC Signature would cost you Rm60 and Pavillion Gold Class Rm50. Other Gold Class would cost Rm40. wow...last time I went to gold class was 35 bucks only. Now increase ady =.= |

QUOTE(hye @ May 27 2009, 06:55 AM) Bro ... the folks in this forum do not encourage such tactics coz we got more class than that. More often than not we got our AF waived without resorting to pretending to be "angry" or stooping to such low tactics. I agree with this. There are plenty free-for-life cards out there, just cancel the card and switch lah. Its so simple. What you're doing is making life miserable for all customer service staffs. |

QUOTE(bingozero @ May 27 2009, 12:54 PM) If you using Shell petrol, apply for Citibank Shell credit card. It is rebate 5% on petrol and 1.5% on retail Shell CitiBank Card requirements for the 5% rebate:-Citibank Shell credit card » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « I'd rather go for CIMB DA Mastercard which gives 2% all the time, every petrol brand. Plus the card is free for life. or RHB TravelMoney - 5% on the first weekend, and 2% on any other day, every petrol brand too. Maybank Petronas card is good for points only. I'm not sure if you can use Bonuslink card at the station if u use this card... pls read the terms and conditions before recommending a card. its fashion...just like why buy Honda/Toyota when there is Proton and Perodua. I don't really see much difference between the two cards. You still need to pay same amount of interest, promotions are almost the same...etc.

salesperson will always say something like that to attract you, then after you get the card/item...they tell a different story. Its best to confirm yourself before signing up next time.

QUOTE(mzaidi @ Jun 3 2009, 12:56 AM) I've applied for my first CC. wow, first ever CC and u qualified for gold? That's quite rare. I have that Airasia gold card and an account in Citibank. They won't upgrade you that soon. Citibank is a really fussy about this...I guess its because of their branding. Since you haven't used any CC before, they can't tell how often you pay up before the dateline. My guess is you won't be able to upgrade until you have used the card for a few months...6 months maybe.Getting Citibank Airasia card, and they told me that I should receive the card sometime next week. A bit unsatisfied because they're issuing me the silver card. Income-wise, I'm eligible for gold, but I did not meet one of their gold card requirement which is having a CC from other bank first. Is there any chance Citibank going to upgrade me to gold after few months? |
