- Should the card is lost / encounter fraud / etc once the Shopee coins are credited, cardmember is required to reach out to Shopee for further assistance.
- Update as per 10/07/2020: Current Shopee (RM10) coupon can't be claimed by CC holders (known issue) - Possible workaround (shared by @jhleo1, post# 213): Add CC to shopee, set as default card. Done in App as per Screenshot.
- Update as per 17/08/2020: multiple members mentioned that there are delays in points crediting, no workaround / direction for this issue at the moment from MBB/Shopee.

[b]GENERAL CC DISPUTE INFO / FLOW:
1. CC Holder files for dispute with respective Issuing Bank (Card Issuing Bank i.e. Maybank)
2. Issuing Bank handles a case and issues a dispute statement to Acquiring Bank (Merchant Bank i.e. Public Bank) / Payment Gateway (iPay88 / RazerPay / GHL / MolPay) depending on the Merchant MID provider / umbrella.
3. Acquiring Bank / Payment Gateway liaises with merchant to defend the dispute (asks merchants for supporting document i.e. Invoice / Delivery Note / Any proof to demonstrate product delivered / service has been rendered.)
4. Acquiring Bank reverts to Issuing Bank with supporting documents, to mediate whether the dispute (cardholder) / chargeback (merchant) is valid.
5. Once decision is reached, outcome will be published / informed by the Acquiring + Issuing banks.
6. Each party will be informed of the outcome (dispute success = chargeback for merchant, refund for cardholder; dispute fail = cardholder signs dispute cancellation form or dispute not valid)
*Does not take into account of further dispute / pre-arbitration.
*As per last advice by CS, MBB recommends dispute to be filed ASAP after transaction posting date for more accurate case presentation. However, the duration could be longer / has been known to be different from banks to banks depending on their policies, some may accept a much longer period i.e. Up to 9 months in some banks.

Wonder whether there is any different between Maybank Shopee coins against normal Shopee coins. The T&C keep refer the coins as "Maybank Shopee coins".

From what I manage to dig up right now, it seems that there's only 1 type of Shopee coins. Other types of coins aren't listed in the app too, so I would assume its the same, at least for now until someone manage to get the statement / get the points credited.

If your income is high enough to get more than 3 cards, and you shop alot on Shopee, then I would say no harm getting it since its zero annual fee anyways. But if you can't get a hold on your spendings, then stay away.

Are we still able to apply or just to add-card for existing Maybank credit card holders at Maybankard Centre The Gardens ?

i believe should be same treatment as any other maybank cc.

Like all marketing gimmicks, it is designed to make you shop with them again and again to gain the benefits.

So, the answer is No.

Every RM1 Spending = 1x/2x/4x/5x Coins

just talked to maybank CS:

1) there are 3 ways to apply the card: m2u online, shopee, and walk-in card centre.

2) for SST redemption from other cards' TreatsPoints --- YES, however the card must have some TPs before it can be combined with other card's TPs. if brand new card without any TPs inside, the system cannot perform TP redemption. ---- meaning, we need to spend slightly >RM1k per statement cycle so that the excess is converted to TPs first, then only can combine with other card's TPs for SST redemption (i guess any type of TP redemtion).

I think you applied through Maybank2u right ? That is normal behaviour from their system.

Wonder how / if they bind the credit card to our shopee account. I have multiple account to utilise the free shipping voucher. Anyway, gonna apply anyway for the RM500 voucher since I don't have any Maybankard yet

From the T&C, the Shopee coins earned from this card will be transferred to your Shopee account on a monthly basis, and the said Shopee account must be registered using the same mobile phone number that you registered with Maybank.

Shopee Coins normally expire in 3 months. If 5000 coins/month, you need to spend RM200 (monthly average) at Shopee. At this moment Free Shipping Vouchers are very limited if you don't use ShopeePay e-wallet. A lot of offers are also limited to ShopeePay. So I still prefer using other CC to top up ShopeePay.

For dining, Contactless and Entertainment, PB VS, PB QV, HLB Wise, RHB VS and some ewallets may give better rebate % at this moment.

For other transactions, if 1% return, good for insurance but limited to RM5000 per month, alternative to OCBC Titanium or HLB Essential.

CIMB-Lazada card is still a very good card with 1% (+5% from Lazada Wallet) and 0.5% rebate, though no longer 15% rebate.

Terminate your Maybank Islamic cards.
It is not easy to get a new Credit Limit from Maybank Conventional, if you already have a Credit Limit from Maybank Islamic.

Thought can have both cards..then have to reconsider..hmm..

Discuss with Maybank Card Centre, you offer to reduce existing Credit Limit (Maybank Islamic) by half, assign another half for Maybank Conventional, see Maybank Card Centre will accept this arrangement.

Can do it online?..or have to walk in to nearest Maybank branch?..

I helped my friend to appeal by email a few years ago. At the end Maybank didn't approve.
It is possible to convert from Conventional Credit Limit to Islamic Credit Limit, but not from Islamic to Conventiional (Note: still possible to get conventional CC)
So it will be easier you terminate Islamic CC, then apply for Conventional CC (for Maybank-Shopee CC, M2 Amex, FCB VS), then convert part of conventional CL to Islamic CL (for Ikhwan Visa/Mastercard).

Been using MBB credit cards for the past 6 years. Applied got rejected. I suspect it's my credit score

If you are holding Maybank M2 Amex Platinum (requirement RM60k) or FCB VS (RM48k), you can add this new card easily as all the Maybank (conventional) CC are sharing the Credit Limit (existing), but the stupid M2U Artificial Intelligence may reject you. Send an appeal to Card Centre and let the human go through your application.

Maybank should just add an “add card” function on its online banking portal like Hong Leong Connect for the convenience of its existing credit card holders to add different credit card to their portfolio.

Still waiting... Had been using Maybank VISA Infinite for a long time.

You are "over-qualified" so the robot may reject you. I experienced it when I applied for FC Barcelona VS 3 years ago.

Same. But I guess we both are existing Maybank customers? So certain incentives do not apply to us. Such as the RM500 voucher whatever that is (need to read again).

I applied thru Shopee app. Then maybank web browser opens, asking to login, verify TAC, etc. I was approved within 3-4 hours. Didn’t need to submit proof of income since my profile is already with Maybank.

Oh yes. You are absolutely correct! Just tried it and an error message popped out saying I’m an existing cardholder, asking me to login to proceed. Thanks for the information.

since the 1 coin - 1 cent is it means normal day at least 1% cash back in "shopee coin method" , because for other transaction if i spend 10k means i get 10k coins which worth RM100 in shopee ....... then shopee,dining,entertainment & paywave will be 2% cash back in "shopee coin method" , am i right?

You can only earn up to 5,000 Shopee coins only using this credit card in a month. Anything more than that they will give you TreatsPoints but TreatPoints return rate is much lower.

Yesterday noon tried to apply through Maybank2u web, but I din't get any approval sms or msg from maybank, just now to check my maybank2u the card appeared, currently got maybank2cards gold with them...

great, i'm applying this since no need income doc
will finish the 5k coins then straight cancel it (then I only earn RM25 huh, since need to pay RM25 SST)

Based on all feedbacks so far Maybank has been very efficient in processing the application for this new credit card. We shall see if those opt to collect the new credit card at branch can get theirs quicker.


You and I are not entitled for the 5,000 Shopee coins because we already are existing Maybank credit card holders.

I applied thru the site 2 days ago, still no updates. Should I call them?

I see the card in my m2u now. pending activation... means i successfully apply

got rejected even though Im holding FCB VS and amex card.

New To Bank, means no bank CC? I have MBB CC so I'm skipping this, wife has MBB SA (no credit card). This still valid for the RM500 Shopee or excluded?

Why some said existing Maybank Cardholder not eligible for 5k Shopee Coins? But Maybank Shopee Card website QnA stated eligible as per below. You ask guessed only? Or Maybank told you?

A22 : Yes. Note that the 5,000 Shopee coins will only be rewarded to the principal card holder.

Service is not available when applied credit card in Maybank2u. After login again into Maybank2u, actually the application already there, need to resume the application. Submitted after fill up all info.

Apply today 2 hours later got approved. Just submit IC only and go through.

I got an SMS yesterday saying my application of Maybankcard approved. I applied shopee card thru Maybank2u. Just log in to my Maybank2u, but there is no sign it is there, just my normal Ikhwan, Amex, and Barcelona.

wait later, account probably not refreshed yet or new card not linked to your m2u, etc etc

showing in M2U has no use anyway, still need to wait for physical card to activate & use
