hmm

does anyone use the built-in app locker in OOS?

does it have a quick glimpse of the locked app before the applock screen comes up?

like every 3rd party app locker on google play store has it

there will be a short glimpse before the app is prompted for password/FP

Hi guys, a bit of update on my quest of screen protectors. Just installed x-one stealth armor. Replacing the hydrogel SP (which is still the best so far).
This xone stealth armor wrap the sides of the device. Surface smoothness....meh. Quite sticky. But better than Ringke dual easy SP (hence the price).
Case compatibility....because it wraps around the device, it adds thickness to the sides. Spigen being the most tight fit, of course hates this SP. My guess is even the most forgiving case would hate this SP.
The positioning of the SP is favoring the bottom side for the button holes to align perfect. This will make the SP not covering the upper bezel. I aligned the SP a bit towards the upper side, just on the upper bezel line. Even with that, the SP distorted on the bottom side with all cases. This will be off immediately after writing this.
Personally, for this price....hmmm.....
Maybe it is not intended for it to be paired with a case....maybe.....but without a case....the back is....hmmmm........hmmmmm....... disappointed.
Another disappointment, received email from dbrand, the grip will be delayed until late july...hmmmmm......

stealth armour seldom can combo with a case due to its thickness..

thats why i went for the full glue TG instead and put on my UAG case.. works well. thumbup.gif

The good old days where you need to get an "invitation" to be able to buy a Oneplus phone.

I would put it as splash resistant. No IP rating on any Oneplus phones yet but I never had any issues washing them under a running tap.

Finally able to have my hands on the first almond phone after units of nebula blue and mirror grey.

First impression, colour looks premium, very nice finishing, pop out camera was also in the same tone, looks kinda alike to the XS Max's Gold to IMO.

It might sound silly, but i have to ask, once the glue is cured, will it be easy to remove the TG? Quite afraid to try the full uv glue TG 😅

let me answer this for you haha, i'm the supplier of the UV glue TG bro StratOS using, nothing to be worried of, not something new for this technology, i've been dealing with this UV glass for more than 2 years, i would say it's only a 5-10 seconds removal, no special tools needed. just peel and good to go, none of a single drop of glue will be leaving on your screen, and the best part is, phone's original coating will be still remains too. All tested and proven icon_rolleyes.gif

best still if you're on KL, i do provide installation together smile.gif

you guys could also consider the Slim Armor instead. Slim & Tough Armor by thickness, is actually the same, the only different i can spot from my sales experience across years, slim armor edge will be curvy, as compared to tough armor, the highlighted part will be squarish.

In Long term, tough armor are believed to have sharp edges feel on hand since the edges are designed square instead of curve

picture illustration is a sample of Slim Armor

If the stock SP was not crudely installed, i would not have changed it.
Only after i peeled it off that i felt a bit of regret....

phone's original coating will be still remains too <-- is this refer to original oneplus7pro screen protector?, meaning without peel off the original one when appliying the UV TG?

Alright I have had the ArmourDillo from Olixar for a week now and here are my impressions. I will compare it to the Otterbox Symmetry case.

Comfort: Pretty damn good, it does not add too much to the girth of the phone despite how it looks and is pretty damn light weight too. The side buttons are easy to reach and click too.

The pop up camera also has some protection around it and it may seem the plastic will block the camera but it doesn't. Also, unlike the Otterbox Symmetry, it is a breeze to remove and install, the phone is protected but it doesn't feel like you are extracting a tooth when taking it out.

The small lip also makes it so easy to move around as if there is no case but this can be a downside as well.

Protection: Also very decent, I baby my phone but still had a few minor bumps here and there and the case took care of it all well. However, the screen lip is minor especially when compared to the Otterbox case so it may not hold out well against falls where your phone falls screen first.

Extra: The built in stand works but you really need to make sure its extended completely or else it will tip over, used the stand to browse Netflix, no problem even when I prodded it a little extra hard.

All in all, it's a solid case, light weight, easy to put on and clean and its stand is handy.

let me answer this for you haha, i'm the supplier of the UV glue TG bro StratOS using, nothing to be worried of, not something new for this technology, i've been dealing with this UV glass for more than 2 years, i would say it's only a 5-10 seconds removal, no special tools needed. just peel and good to go, none of a single drop of glue will be leaving on your screen, and the best part is, phone's original coating will be still remains too. All tested and proven icon_rolleyes.gif

best still if you're on KL, i do provide installation together smile.gif
*
Thanks for the clarification bro!
I saw few demos on youtube before this. With the leftover glue spilling to the sides, that was what got me very worried.
With your approval and recommendation, paranoid users like me will feel more at ease 😄

you guys could also consider the Slim Armor instead.

Even the rugged armor have sharp edges, especially the camera cutout. It'll bite your ears.

Its the original screen's oleophobic coating bro.
The original/SP needs to be removed first.

The battery is great on WiFi, no doubt. But on cellular data I'd probably get around an hour less of SOT.

SOT is not the accurate picture of your battery consumption. Also depends on how many hours you've had it on standby. Some people only get 4 hours SOT but standby for 3 days laugh.gif

thinking of getting Oneplus 7 or 6T.

7 Pro is too fancy and big for me.

Besides the 855/845 and update support, is there any stark differences between those two?

And which shop (both online/offline) that offers best price? Non Malaysia version also ok.

Thanks.

get 7 instead, now around RM1.9k on Shopee ( sold by Mobile Corner ) or can just get from mobile2go aka GStore on Lazada at RM1999, these are all china set 8+256

855 is definitely better than 845 and battery performance is better too

S10e has a relatively small battery capacity so if you're a heavy user it might not be advisable. Between Huawei and OP at the moment, I'd pick the OP that is if the camera isn't your priority.

S10e has a relatively small battery capacity so if you're a heavy user it might not be advisable. Between Huawei and OP at the moment, I'd pick the OP that is if the camera isn't your priority.

OP7 camera still not that good compared to S10? I saw a review on youtube after they updated their phone to 9.5.7, the camera is great.

Although camera image quality can be quantify, i still think that this matter is subjective.

I'd agree with the above comment that it is subjective, but I had the S10+ for a few weeks and I kinda agree with this review on the camera part.

The camera will not be as good as the camera on your Iphone X. If you place much importance on the camera then go for the S10+. But if hardware and firmware is your priority, OP7 it is.

in my humble opinion, what make people migrates to android is due to the customized ability compared to ios. and certain people then switched back to ios due to its os stability.
in the android circle, different company has different approach in highlighting their product.
OP has been known to be very cheapo with their marketing sales advertisement. so not a lot of people know what might be the objective of this phone.
my bet are, performance. everything else have to come second. be it battery life, camera, comfort, etc.
not saying that other phones are not prioritizing their phone performance but its just isnt to OP level.
performance include os stability, os updates, and future proofed hardwares.
i guess nobody will doubt that OP has the most fluid and fast system. people will say, so can other phones if the animation is cut down. well, OP is fast enough even at its default animation. cutting it down would just make it faster.
UFS 3.0 storage. think of if as usb 2.0 vs 3.0. try moving 2gb files (not one file, but a compilation of files adding to 2gb size). or try having as much data in excel sheets graph and all, and compare editing it in usb 2.0 and 3.0.
of course normal casual user wont be doing those heavy load stuff, but it is an ease of mind knowing you can do it when the time comes.
nowadays when people think of camera -- huawei p30 (or pixel 3 if youre mkbhd), best overall phone -- samsung, i want a phone without having to change here and there -- apple. due to its marketing strategy, OP has been overshadowed by the likes of fatah amin and siti.
ok enough mumbling. thanks for reading up to here haha.

TLTR: OP phone prioritize performance. good image quality is a bonus. no headphone jack is still in-excusable.

oh, forgot to add, about the pricing....
you guys can relate it to how usb 2.0 and usb 3.0 flashdrive prices are. or maybe ssd to conventional hdd.
adding the 90hz refresh rate capability, i get the price point.

I sorta was in the same boat as you. Been using the Nexus - OP line for the longest time.

But finally made the jump to S10+ because I want a good camera for once. OP7 does excel in certain categories but I feel S10+ is the all rounder.

Used to hate Samsung's apps but I hate to say the current ones are pretty good. Been using them instead of the stock ones.

Very much. Samsung has much evolved from the earlier Touchwiz to Samsung Experience to One UI now. Bloatware has been drastically reduced on the One UI but the firmware is still far from "perfect". Compared to Oxygen, One UI is still not at its level, yet.

Yup, I concur. This is easily the best Android UI I've ever used - my personal opinion smile.gif

I'm currently also using a Redmi Note 7 assigned by company. The difference between the user interfaces is stark.

Does anybody know what third party charger could get more than 1.5A charging on oneplus7pro?

Tested huawei supercharge and qc 3.0 charger, could not get more than 1.5A for charging.

Saw mcdodo charger in shopee that supports multiple charging protocol, but do not know if it can go beyond 1.5A.

Also seen some article saying oneplus7pro supports usb tyoe c PD, anyone can confirm this?

Yes, don't need to worry about battery life. It can last long for your daily usage. But, not that impressive. Just barely meet the expectation. My op5 (stock, unroot) could perform better than op7 pro.

I think UI is pretty much about personal preference. Some may find Oxygen OS a little too simplistic and boring, while others may absolutely love it. Same goes for MIUI and EMUI, some like it while there are others who can't stand it so it really depends. I've used a couple of Huawei devices before, the last one being a P20 Pro. I do feel it's a little less elegant than Samsung's One UI for me, but the amount of bloat is more tolerable compared to MIUI.

Im using p30pro previously. Emui 9.1 can be consider a good one. It comes down whther u like simple UI or more advanced ui. For me i fall in love with op7pro super smooth scrolling. I dont care much about ui unless the annoying one like vivo funtouch.

Why consider 3rd party when the XF already brought in 3pin Warp Charger?

I bought the charger+dash cable bundle from 1 of the retailer in shopee and it works flawlessly.

Once you tasted Warp charge, the slow charge feels like an eternity.

Also I remember watching from YouTube that Oneplus 7 pro will draw about 7W if using non compliant protocol.

there's still the classic stubbornness in Samsung when it comes to their firmware and software side, namely BIXBY

seriously all they need to do to make One UI close to perfect is remove the damm BIXBY. no one cares about it but Samsung being Samsung, they're forcing it down on the users

Because original warp cost double/triple 😓

3rd party charger that supports multiple charging protocol can also be used for other devices.. Essentially, I'm looking for a charger that supports more than 2A charging for all my devices. If possible.

You're right, all other charger i tried have 4V-5V ~1.5A charging rate.

The reason I bought the warp charger is for peace of mind and I mainly use my device for 3 years at minimum.

I am no expert since this is my first Oneplus device but I do read before (from the Oneplus 6/6t thread) that the Oneplus charging technology is based on Oppo VOOC charging.
From the VOOC wiki page, it mentions that VOOC is compatible with Dash Charge (5V/4A). No mentions if SuperVOOC is compatible as Warp Charge (5V/6A).

My guess that if you want higher than 7W charging but lower than 30W charging, VOOC compliant charger should able to bring you to 20W charging since I think the Oneplus 7 pro still supports Dash Charging.

P30? Great phone, even greater Zoom mode. But I dislike kirin chipset and emui (personal preference). With the current situation of the US trade war working against Huawei, Google android possibly abandoning Huawei, combined with Huawei's silly move in pushing advertisement on Huawei phones lock screen scandal recently, I would not touch any Huawei with a pole.

Well, all big companies like Samsung will have their own 'ego' in pushing out their own apps and programs and try to make consumers adapt and use it, just like Apple. As long as we are not forced to buy and use it, Im ok. Bixby can be disabled and best is to not enable it on the first boot. Problem solved.

The problem with Android phone makers is that they have to realize that Apple owns both hardware and software, so they can force whatever they think is right to their users. That's not the case for Android. The software doesn't belong to Samsung or Huawei. Google has their own ecosystem and set of apps, so to have another one from the phone manufacturer means there are duplicates and some users (like myself) dismiss them as bloat.

Hehe, I'd still like to try the P30 Pro at some point though, but for now, maybe not.

Any1 experienced problem of oneplus7pro randomly switching 4g to 3g during online gaming?
I have to use an app to force to 4g.
Not because of a weak signal.

Mine only drop to 3g whenever I play online games..lol..
At first I thought the 4g signal is not good, but when I force to 4g, it is ok.
Hate to use an additional app just for this purpose.
And when I force to 4g, will not recieve call. Troublesome.
Any other user experiencing this?

Based on your needs above, even the 6/128 one sounds sufficient.

shocking.gif I think u want try 12/256, since u use 8/256 why go downgrade 6/128 haha
But seriously tell u 8/256 is more then enough. 12/256 i don't find a big jump for us who don't gaming a lot.
Probably will sell my 12/256 when note 10 out.

The Note 10 will still have that annoying punch hole in the middle and while for some people that will be fine, I really hope the Note 10 will not have the Exynos / Snapdragon split that Samsung is so fond of. Regardless, I am sticking be my OnePlus 7 Pro for at least the next 3 years

Actually 6/128 is a step down from 8/256 - I'm guessing besides the difference in storage space, the other only difference is it might probably not be able to keep too many tasks running in the background.

The Exynos/Snapdragon split is a given with Samsung - which is why I'll most probably stay clear of the Note 10 this round.

As long as one doesn't do heavy gaming I don't think difference between exynos and SD is significant
I am now using SD note9 vs previous exynos version
Seriously I don't see any significant difference in performance, battery life etc

Samsung are not doing it because they are fond of it, they are doing it simply for the NA market. They need Qualcomm's modem for compatibility with NA bands. If Samsung had it their way it would ALL be Exynos and no SD variants.

They don't use Exynos in the US because Qualcomm owns some CDMA patent that Samsung can't use in the US.

Yeah i dont know why they move it to the middle, S10 punchole location is better. also im 100% we still gonna get Exynos tho its gonna be a new step up one (Exynos 9825) and as most already knows, no headphone jack.

S10 would disagree. They need update to even get a camera performance on par with the SD S10. even after few update and patch theres still users claiming the Exynos aint doing great in some game like PUBG.

I can't compare an Exynos and SD version Samsung coz I've never owned the latter before, but between my previous S10+ and current OP7 Pro, the difference in standby battery life is stark smile.gif

Just my opinion:

- online: may have more free gifts, may have more discount (either from vendor or platform), you may enjoy 0% installment, BUT warranty may an issue (need to send back, no idea can go direct to the shop, such as Satu Gadget local branch)

-Shop: may lesser gift and discount (tbc), cash term or chargable install fee, GOOD is you can enjoy it immediately, no waiting time! warranty should be just bring over...or need service centre? this one not sure... sweat.gif

Eagerly waiting for the camera performance after this update. Anyone tested the camera yet?

If the camera improvement is great then i'll finally buy this phone 😁

no noticeable change to pic quality since its already quite good
I noticed the auto-focus speed is blazing fast now, almost instant transition when I move the camera around

hey guys, I bought PD compliant charger and powerbank to see check for type c PD charging. Also bought a couple of PD compliant cables.
Sadly, none of them manage to go beyond 1.8A. Coupled with the charger is a QC 3.0 port. I tested it with my Sony Z3, and it is able to draw 2.5A from the charger.
I saw a review (with picture) from the net where the oneplus 7 pro manage to get 2.9A from USB PD charge.
Any of you guys manage to test/verify the PD charging protocol?

Not sure. Usually only select markets get the special colours and limited editions. But the possibility is there.

My rhinoshield solidsuit has arrived. Oh yes, very nice. Very minimal bulk compared to spigen rugged armor. I ordered the cf version, same grippiness as the spigen matte surface.
I'm on hydrogel SP, it does not agree that well with spigen. Only a slight miss alignment would cause SP distortion on the spigen.
But the rhinoshield is much more forgiving. It fits well with my slight missed aligned SP.
Quite confusing, the rhinoshield feels much more of a tight fit, but then it is quite forgiving to the SP.
No fault that i could think of.
Really love the profile switch selector.
And the pop up camera cut out does not bite.

Guys.. Anyone faced 2 this issue with your PRO?

Case 1: There are when you try to snap pic within WhatsApp (using the build in API), there's msg pop out say the camera is not ready / not avail? Then WhatsApp camera function closed by itself and when you run it again the problem no more.

Case 2: Stock camera apps sometime will hang / become very lags when you run?

Not sure if I screw the OS during my last update and cause this issue. But if other user faced the same case as me, it could be bugs from the OS itself or the tweaks I used. laugh.gif

Guys, i played around with a demo unit just now. I noticed that, when i open the browser, the screen looks like yellowish tint. Is it because of the stock screen protector? I saw the tint in 2 different store, All IT KLCC and DirectD.

It was usd35.50 (10% off from a youtuber discount code, you may find other youtubers that have 15% code). 9 days delivery, sunday order, monday shipped, next tuesday arrived from taiwan.

Yellowish screen supposedly to be easy on the eye and less strain.
But I dont like it, I switched to srgb screen calibration for more blueish screen.

I dont have the nylon bumper case to compare with.
If compare to spigen rugged armor/standard clear case, side by side, it is slightly thicker overall.
Not really noticeable if you dont have them side by side.
From the upper pop up camera cut out and the bottom charging port, I can see the difference in wall thickness.
But when compare the height to the spigen rugged armor side by side, the difference is very minimal.
oh, and the lips...the best so far all around.

I changed both to strong now and it's still very weak. Previously, my WhatsApp notifications has a long dzzz-dzzz vibration that feels just like a call is coming in. Now the vibration for incoming messages feels just like the haptic from typing on the keyboard, da-da like that. Don't know if you guys can understand me or not, but it feels just like that.

Anyways, is there a way I can downgrade to 9.5.8? Wanted to flash the rom in stock recovery but the option's not there. That used to be the way for me on the OP2. Phone's not rooted btw, any help I can get is greatly appreciated.

The standard clear case that I mentioned is the original transparent case bro. I dont know what it's called officially, so I simply put standard clear case. Since the phone is already big, I dont really notice the added bulk. Or should I say it doesn't really add that much. If i have to put bulkiness ranking - ringke lookalike > rhinoshield > transparent case > spigen rugged armor.

Thanks bro. I have two issues with Dbrand.
The first is that they'll probably ship by end of July. I cant wait. So i cancelled it.
The second is the alert slider cutout on the Dbrand. It makes me doubt the protection on that particular unprotected side.
We'll have to wait for our fellow member to get it for their personal opinion.

Is it free shipping? The one I want is still on preorder :|

Also what courier did they used? Did the courier called?

they say free shipping on selected countries for usd40 above.
I assume malaysia will be included as well.
mine was 31.50 after 10% discount code. So I have to pay usd4 for standard shipping.
they used china post with tracking if i'm not mistaken, and handled by pos malaysia here.

sometimes pre-order item will really test your patient sweat.gif

Weird I've been getting random notification on my OnePlus 7 Pro. I'll receive notification sound but no notification shows up. I tried looking into my notification log but nothing (since no notification show up) so I cant check & it's not NFC either cuz i have it turned off.
Anyone else having same issue?
*
Same as you. I do hear the notification sound but nothing lights up. Opening the screen reveal nothing also.

I was wondering if a rogue app is pinging but not sure how to trace.

Used the CrashGuard on my Nexus 6p, loved it as I had a dbrand skin. Contemplated getting it again for my op7 non-pro, but mahal ler. Will get Ringke Fusion X instead and pair with gadgetshieldz skin this time to see how it looks.

Yeah have it on my OP2 as well, really helped protect my phone from various drops over the years. In fact, it suffered so many drops that it started to finally crack after 4 years. Asked Rhinoshield for a replacement, all I need to pay is for the shipping. It's just that I'm thinking whether to try out the Grip haha.

Even you put up the strongest SP and casing on your phone, there's still got chances that your phone will be broken due to certain circumstances. Protection is important, but luck is much more needed.

Also, one bad incident doesn't mean that the case is bad.

Anyone here use the magnetic case? Looks cool as it provides full body coverage protection but I'd rmb the 1st gen (happens with iphone series if my memory served me right) does affect the signal reception.

Coz mine is white marble, so not really. The surface is kinda "matte-like", was kinda below my expectations tbh. If you want grippy ones, I think the Swarm, Carbon Fibre and Dragon series should be more appropriate

My only complain is that after install it makes the phone very heavy. The Whitestone dome is lighter and easier to install, but it's so freaking expensive.

same DIY, no bubbles.
not ever sign of coming off

2 problem caused by my own,
1) forgot to check for bubble after placing TG and before drying, now got 3 micro bubble (<1mm each) in middle of screen.
2) dropped my phone on the corner, case pushed on the TG and it came off on the corner.

Hey guys, a while back I said that the hydrogel ~ RM13+ was the better version of hydrogel out there. Turns out the oleophobic coating did fail after 3-4 days of usage. The first few days were flawless, almost glass smooth. But after that it went bad pretty quickly.
Then, I installed TMax TG bought from sakurazz. This was my first ever installation of UV glue TG. TG usually hold their oleophobic coating far far greater then your typical plastic film SP.
I did messed up my installation a bit. Here are my personal recommendation if you're going to install a full UV glue TG.

1. Taping the upper speaker grill will help you align your TG greatly. You'll noticed that the upper bezel is smaller than the lower bezel. If you tape your upper speaker grill just enough to cover the grill, you'll end up with a near perfect TG alignment. 3 tapes were provided with the TG.

2. When you drip the UV glue, dont squeeze the tube too hard. You'll get bubbles in the glue blob. You can get rid of the bubbles using the dust tape. You'll probably need a flashlight to ensure no small bubbles reside in the UV glue blob. With the screen off, you cant see the mini bubbles. I got 3 miniscule bubbles on my installation. Not visible in dark background. Only with white background you'll notice the bubbles. Like right now when I'm typing this. Haih....

3. Make sure your hands are not contaminated with the wet UV glue during installation. It'll leave prints on your TG.

4. I used a powerbank to power the provided UV light. It'll turn off automatically around 1min or less. Not sure if its my powerbank or all powerbank behave like this. But its a good thing cause you can switch position each time it powered off.

5. Only wipe the spilled glue when the UV glue is almost or already dried. Dont wipe it when its still wet. Your cloth/tissue will absorb the glue from the edges if its still wet.

Those were my personal noob opinion when installing the full UV glue TG.

Case compatibility? 100% with all the cases that I have.
Added bulk/weight? I dont feel any difference. Quite possibly because the phone itself is substantial heavy, and adding the case as well.

TLTR - go get sakurazz's help if you're not confident.

hey bro, are you using full screen picture format for your main camera?
I realized that there are some quality difference between the 4:3, full screen; and 1:1 picture format.
Maybe its just me, but I found that the full screen picture format is kinda like zoomed in picture and it has the worst quality out of the three.
1:1 also looked zoomed in a bit, but much less zoomed compared to the full screen.
4:3 and 1:1 has similar quality but I prefer the 4:3 format out of the three.
Same goes to the front camera, 4:3 format looked better.

1. For local sets, no. But some retailers did offer some freebies for 6gb ram variant.

2. Not slightly, but over expensive. Want cheap OP7 Pro? Your only option is go for AP set.

Since Oneplus 7 Pro is overly expensive in Malaysia, is it still worth it to buy one(local set)?

Depends on personal preference. If you care about local warranty, then go for local set no matter how expensive it is. If not, then AP set it is.

Could be due to various reasons - too competitive, margins too small, etc. Look at how XF price the 8GB unit {pengsan}.

Haha yeah man.

Right now I am comparing between the Mate 20 Pro (whose price has dropped to 2.5k?) and I realised the non-pro version have similar pricing... so gathering feedback on the pros and cons of each devices.

Depend on what you're looking for. Mate 20 Pro also solid with very good camera. Fantastic price now. Tho some may not like EMUI. I'm using non-pro and the camera's meh. Wanted stock Android UI, root and flagship specs. Didn't want to spend too much on a phone, so non-pro was good enough. Battery life also very good for my usage.

About the battery life, what's your avg SOT and usage like? Surprisingly the reviews state that OP7 has better batt life than even the Huawei haha.

Hey there, hope you dont mind, this is my opinion.
With how the development of softwares and hardwares are these days.
2 years might be the longest time frame for the current technology to cope in the future without being a nuisance. True, there are still some that uses their 3/4 years phone. I'm from huawei p10plus. Thats almost 2years plus back.

Financially, 3 years, I dont think it is worth it for a phone. 2 years is a large stretch already. If you're not financially able at the time being, why not settle for something else? Good phones are getting cheap, and cheap phones are getting better.
Hold out for a while if you can.

Hope you dont take this the wrong way, its merely my opinion.

Cheers!✌️

Compared to AP ones, yes. I saw some store in Lazada offering the OP7 Pro 6/128 at 2899 during the 12/7 sale last week. Not sure if there is a better deal.

I just wanted to try this phone out, it was never meant to replace my P30 Pro. Well, this phone is good, it would say as good as P30 Pro and in some aspect it is even better. But I am used to the way Huawei phone work and I do feel the two important point to me which Huawei is better which is the camera and battery.

Well, this is based on my own usage and personal opinion. Anyway, I can't use two phone, I need to sell one and I decided to keep P30 Pro.

P30 pro feels lag? No, I don't feel that at all. Feel lag is very subjective word. OnePlus 7 pro do have a higher refresh rate screen, it does feel more smooth but that does not equal to other feel lag. Others may not be as smooth due to non high refresh rate panel but does not mean that its lag. In fact, I do not find any lag at all for P30 pro or even any flagship phone now.

The culprit is on the 90hz refresh. Once you used with it, and you try other phone it will make you feels the sluggishness. My colleague that using S10+ said his one is trash after he test on mine OP7. laugh.gif

Infact it isnt the phone itself slow, but instead the screen's refresh rate make you feel its like slow.

Ya bro. Its subjective feeling. For me once i tried scrolling the screen that point i fall in love with the 90hz refresh. Definitely not going back to 60hz for now. U try direct d demo set?

Yep. It's the refresh rate.

Even on monitors. I went from 60hz to 144hz. Now 60hz feels very laggy even after decades of using it.

New update available for 7pro. Seems oneplus very fast to provide update. Hope someone will take over oxygen updater. Official ota seems slower.

About the battery life, what's your avg SOT and usage like? Surprisingly the reviews state that OP7 has better batt life than even the Huawei haha.
*
I normally keep the battery between 20-80%, so never really drained it from 100 to 0. Accubattery claims based on my usage can get 9h. But I doubt it. I think 6h is reasonable, and I use dual-sim as well. I doubt it will be better than the Mate20Pro.

On op3t 6gb ram, planning to get op7. 12gb would br much faster than 8gb right?
*
No diff - unless you play lots of games and don't want it to load. 8gb is already overkill.

QUOTE(teamjoker @ Jul 18 2019, 09:52 AM)
Wah p30 pro feels lag. I must try this 1+7 liao. I used to have 1+3 but boycott cause camera really sucks even compared to my old Samsung note 5 those days.

The camera on op7 non-pro is really meh. Gcam helps a bit.

Better read the terms and condition properly. Many ap sellers cover their LCD/LED for 3 months only. Not sure about M2G.

Some ap dealers help send your unit back to the original country of purchase directly to the manufacturer/distributor for RMA. Lengthy process, but at not much of cost to them and in return make their customers happy.

Which font you guys use in your OP7 pro? Today I changed from Robotto to Oneplus slate. And I found out Oneplus Slate is much sharper and easy to my eyes. Some may say it's ugly because it's wider. But to me it's much more comfortable to read compared to Robotto. I like it.

My Google Play Services on the other hand keeps using Location services. I keep getting a notification about it in the lockscreen.

Maybe try a restart and clear the cache?

I tried that and it seems to be working. Also i stop using blokada just to test so now idk which one make it work. Either way it becomes normal now. Thanks.

Is there any difference between Chinese version and International version of the OP7 Pro? (i.e LTE / 3G bands?) Other than the obvious Oxygen OS vs Hydrogen OS which can be now easily flashed to Oxygen OS without much hassles.

I will guessed A as well. Because of the strong saturation.
But A and B really close. I bet the iphone captured the real picture representative.

Battery is great
Data speeds super fast
Bluetooth 5.0 is superb
And most of all the screen and stereo speaker. The amount of netflix shows i have consumed on this phone is ridiculous

ps : after update camera is great too and i am sure it will get better with more updates

Talking about great battery life, I was getting nearly 7 hours of SoT after continuous gaming, Netflix and general browsing/chatting. Loading time is super good compared to my Xperia (eMMC vs UFS 3.0 lolz)

Amazing phone. It's a great purchase.

haha i did compare the OP7P camera quality with my note 9 yesterday with the demo unit in retail stores

disappointed to say my note 9 camera.. the color is just not realistic enough

while the oneplus7 pro is quite true to life and it pops better!!

even the selfie cam, there is not "beauty mode", its just natural

and quality wise, its on-par when its on auto mode (both photos tested taken are in auto mode)

and i realised that when people say the camera is not "up-to-par".. they actually just meant when its zoomed in, the quality is loss, or they didnt capture the photo as crispy enough as other flagships, but i realised its similar only, as the note 9 just capture the photo slightly sharper, but once zoomed in, it also looks bad.

however, when its viewed at 100% ratio, both phones produce good quality photos nod.gif

thats why now im quite tempted to side with oneplus7 pro

as i feel the note 10 will be similar to the s10 but more expensive sweat.gif

few questions..

- does it have AOD built in? similar to Samsung's AOD? hmm.gif
- does it have split screen like Samsung's ?
- does it have "motion video" where the camera captures 2-3 seconds before you snap the pic? (i forgot to test this sweat.gif)

1) Ambient Display, not AOD. It's activated either by lifting your device up or tapping on the screen (Settings)
2) Yes, it's a native Android Feature
3) No, it doesn't have it. I used to have it on my Lumia but I never missed it though

i see

but i prefer to use the stock cam though

since mod doesnt always support whenever there's a new base update or something

prefer stable stock camera nod.gif

thats why i only judge the quality comparison between the stock note 9 and stock oneplus7 pro camera laugh.gif

so far im liking the colors on the Op7P!

wish i could capture it outside instead of store lighting sad.gif

oh i see... actually i feel op7 camera is more true colors... thats why sometimes seems dull...
while i noticed some other brand flagships esp samsung enhance the colors even in auto-mode... thats why their pics are more insta worthy, thus more ppl like it... to me i feel very subjective in pics quality...

After a while, I realised that no matter what settings I made, the notification sound still triggers until I adjusted the "default notification sound".

For example, I can turn off all the sound notifications option in WhatsApp/FB Msgr but when someone messaged me I still get the sound lolz. It's pretty weird if you ask me.

Hmm, I'm the opposite though, I feel photos from my ex Samsung device is a little more vibrant and has better, punchier details - but then again, my last Samsung device that I'm comparing it with was a S10+ and not a Note 9 laugh.gif Also, I prefer the lowlight shots from the Samsung compared to the OnePlus but it's good enough for me to be honest. As a matter of preference though, my iPhone still has more natural looking shots in good lighting biggrin.gif

Nope, mine's all good, but on 9.5.8, just updated to 9.5.10 and will see how that goes. The mails labeled as "Promotion" don't show in notifications though, but I think that is by default and maybe there's a setting for that.

Just a heads up for all who are wondering, I had 9.5.10 since yesterday evening and no abnormalities observed, except the vibration feels a bit milder when typing.

Overnight battery drain is still 2% over 8 hours with all settings left on, notifications are coming in and double tap to wake works flawlessly.

It's safe to update smile.gif

ASUS ROG Phone II (12GB RAM/512GB storage) is priced at NTD 26,990 (~$870)

roughly equate around RM4k - 4.5k when landed to our shores?

my op7 need to hold on much longer in order for option bar for copy text to appear... it takes 3 seconds for op7, while my op6 takes ~1 sec... both on android pie...

anyone know is there any settings for this?
I've tried changing the key long press delay to minimum of 100ms its still the same, takes 3 seconds to appear...

Unfortunately curved screens seem to be the in thing now. At least we're lucky OnePlus bundled in a SP to begin with!

Unless you enable tap to wake (Ambient Display) or double tap to wake, the fingerprint scanner will not work when the screen is off due to it being an optical sensor.

This Vanced Youtube is a must, + it can play at background with screen off. Lol

So after all the tweaks u done, how much SOT u managed to squeeze from your OP7 compare to before?

TBH, I don't look at SOT at all. I have GSam Battery Monitor Pro with root access (or ADB access for non root phone) in my all phones, just to monitor unusual app sucker (that's the name in the app) and temperature.
As I have multiple phone, I'm not always on one phone only. So my SOT is different.

But looking inside the app, it stated; Screen On: 6h 40m (7h 21m Max) Since July 14.

This is the best feels on hand casing I ever used. It does added some weight as it's tempered glass at the back but feels really good. Bought at Shoppe.

Any review on the in car dash charger performance with oneplus 7 pro?
I got mine as free gift.
Just now i charged for 10 mins but the batt only increased about 7-8%, which is quite slow for me TBH.
Not sure how is it when compared to QC 3.0 car charger.

It was faulty for mine too, pretty sure it applies for every op7p out there. The charger doesn't seem to be dash charging the phone, but only normal charging it.

Yes, same here. No dash charging symbol. Only normal charge. Then now I am using a car warp charger. Works fine and very fast.

just got my Dbrand grip yesterday. funny their delivery was done ~8pm, using Vellfire.

Overall impression is very stiff, and tight fit. Scare will break it when I was inserting bottom part of phone.
All the cutout and button placement is perfect, cover for camera cutout is provided, which is neat.

Perfect for tmax tg, with 1mm to spare each side.
love the clickiness of its button, got satisfying clicking sound.

Grippyness is more or less the same like stock case that comes with Oneplus7pro, slightly thicker as well.
