Even you put up the strongest SP and casing on your phone, there's still got chances that your phone will be broken due to certain circumstances. Protection is important, but luck is much more needed.

Also, one bad incident doesn't mean that the case is bad.

Hi guys, did Oneplus 7 Pro(6GB RAM/128GB ROM) ever drop below RM2999 during sales?

I was told Oneplus 7 Pro prices in Malaysia slightly expensive?
*
1. For local sets, no. But some retailers did offer some freebies for 6gb ram variant.

2. Not slightly, but over expensive. Want cheap OP7 Pro? Your only option is go for AP set.

Since Oneplus 7 Pro is overly expensive in Malaysia, is it still worth it  to buy one(local set)?
*
Depends on personal preference. If you care about local warranty, then go for local set no matter how expensive it is. If not, then AP set it is.

Which font you guys use in your OP7 pro? Today I changed from Robotto to Oneplus slate. And I found out Oneplus Slate is much sharper and easy to my eyes. Some may say it's ugly because it's wider. But to me it's much more comfortable to read compared to Robotto. I like it.

Dropped my op7 (non-pro) face down on a hard tiled floor, no scratches/cracks etc. But the left half of the screen is not responding to touch, nor is the fingerprint reader.

Help! Anyone faced similar prob before?
*
Probably the touch screen digitizer connector is loose/broken due to the impact . Time to pay a visit to SC.

I’m gonna avoid the Note 10 unless the offer is really, really compelling biggrin.gif

I was waiting for Note 10 (specifically the regular version one) in the first place. But once I knew that Oneplus 7 Pro will be using Samsung 2k Amoled screen this time, I immediately changed my mind and decided to switch over to Oneplus this time instead of Samsung. And you guys know the rest. tongue.gif

And now after seeing those leaks where the regular Note 10 is using FHD+/smaller battery/no sd slot, I am glad that I made the right choice earlier. Samsung clearly is pushing the Note fans to upgraded to Note 10 plus which is gonna be much more expensive than the regular. Especially the FHD+ and smaller battery part, Note 9 is a much better phone than the Note 10 regular if you ask me.

Of course, I know I will be missing Samsung One UI, the S-Pen and its camera performance. So I will keep my Note 9 and use it as my secondary phone. rclxms.gif

However, I will still be watching the unpacked event this Thursday. Can't help it. It's been a habit for me since S8 era. Who knows. May be Samsung will give us surprise. And see if the the surprise is worth enough to change my mind, then I may consider to trade in Note 9 afterwards........... biggrin.gif

and after the 9.5.7 updates, and countless videos of camera before/after update reviews

the photo quality this time is good enough to be at an acceptable level. I mean really really acceptable putting side by side with pixels and samsungs
*
IMO, Op7pro camera is quite decent. I compare it with my Note 9 side by side, Oneplus 7 pro is equally good, if not, even better than Note 9. Especially the Ultra wide angle, this feature alone already win.

But you know la. People will always be skeptical about it and being nitpicking all the time. To some people out there, Huawei/Samsung/Pixel are always better in their heart. Huawei spec is super crazy one, so no need to argue with that. I don't have Pixel, so I won't comment on this one. But when it comes to Samsung, yes. I do admit that Samsung camera is better in certain circumstances. But Oneplus 7 pro is no slouch either. Unless you put all the pics you shot up into your computer and zoom in/zoom out to check the quality on the screen all the time. If not, OP7pro camera is already good enough for social media use.

Not to mention that the notchless full screen! Trust me. Once you used to the notchless screen, it's really hard to go back to those notch/punch hole screen. devil.gif When it comes to smartphone, I always put the screen as my first priority. Do you use the camera on your phone all the time? No right? But do you look at the screen every single day? Definitely yes! So it's very important to make sure that you buy a phone with the screen that won't bother your viewing pleasure. Other features are bonus. But screen, it's the main thing! I can't say for the camera or OS part since those are matters of personal preference. But I can guarantee you! You won't be regret after using the Op7 pro screen. cool2.gif

Nope on my device. As the matter of fact, I didn't encounter this at all since the first day I using it. Anyway, I think it's already been fixed after couple of updates.

Hi bro. AFAIK, OP7pro's pre-installed screen protector is made of plastic which is easily scratched. You can check the oneplus forum where there's some similar cases out there. Mine also came with a few minor scratches out of the box. But I live with it since I don't plan to buy a new SP to replace it.

I am not trying to help Xianfeng in here since I also hate them being sucks on the launch and pricing and delay. But I must say you are probably the first and only user who complained to them on the damaged SP.

I am not saying that damaged SP is acceptable. Just want to state out thet fact that OP7 pro's pre-installed SP is indeed poor quality. It's recommended to replace it if you can't stand with it..

You paid 3k plus, not rm30, the phone fresh came out of the box scratched means it's partly defective. As consumer you have full right to ask replacement sp or outright refund.

*
Don't get me wrong bro. I am not against your action. In fact, I respect you.

QUOTE(stevenX @ Aug 8 2019, 08:37 AM)
Bro, if you buy the phone at retail shop. Most of them will gladly replace a new SP for you. At the end it's just a SP.

As per Mr Grinn post, it's about how XF being an a$$hole in after sales service. Don't you think that need to provide a CCTV prove is so over ?  blink.gif
*
Yes. The problem is that there's no official Oneplus retail stores in Malaysia. This makes it harder to claim anything for the phone.

And yes. XF is a$$hole. I was the last one to receive the phone for the first batch pre-order. I know that feeling. Not ot mention that XF is just a distributor, they don't represent Oneplus. They won't care about their reputation at all. Perhaps it's a one hit wonder for them and next year a new distributor will come out and replace them.

then where do we go for warranty claims? lol

If that happens, then no choice but have to accept the fate. tongue.gif

Luckily Oneplus is known for low defect rate. You seldom heard people complaining about phone faulty and go for SC to repair when it comes to Oneplus. Oneplus is a small company, but surprisingly they are very serious when it comes to manufacturing the phone.

here's a video to prove that Oneplus 7 pro is a great build up phone. The internal components are all top spec. (Chinese)

Disappointed with note 10 / 10 plus, now I'm looking back at this phone. found that z star sell quite cheap but after chat with them now I'm not so sure.. why only 3 months for LCD? I notice dead pixels quite late usually, about 6 months or so. Haha

*
AP set? I thought 3 months warranty for LCD is normal for AP sets?

Hi all, Note 9 sent for warranty but planning to let it go to change to OnePlus 7 Pro.

However, I have my reserve...

I love my Note 9 with the following advantage over OnePlus 7 Pro :

1) Rear FP Sensor (I'm sooo use to rear FPS, it's fast and accurate. Will migration to on-screen with OP7 Pro be smooth?)
2) Camera (Not a camera whore. Previously use OP5T and was really dissapointed with the quality. Can OP7 Pro live up to it?)
3) Expendable Storage (Only need more storage for movies and musics)
4) Notification LED (I usually place my phone on desk and disable vibration, LED notification LED allow me to be aware of msgs coming in)
5) SPen (don't use that often but handy when I need to explan stuff at work with drawing)
6) 3.5mm (using Airdots this days but I still love the idea of maintaing legacy port)
7) Samsung Pay (actually pretty handy)
8) Wireless Charging (usually use cable, don't charge wireless that often)
9) Dex (only play around with it at times)

However, looking forward to OP7 Pro due to the following reasons:

1) Snapdragon 855 (Exynos fair lower in terms of performance and battery)
2) Battery life (since it's 855 and stock, with so much report that battery life is good)
3) Full Screen with no notch (Note 9 is pretty much that)
4) 90Hz (Kena posion with 90Hz really cannot turn back?)
5) 2 years warranty! (This is pretty sweet deal, 2 years of protection for device)
6) RM3399 now for 8GB RAM and 256GB)

Following is a major deterrent:

1) No notification LED (macam mana ni? those 3rd party app doens't cause major drain and issue?)
2) Camera quality (comparing with Note 9. OP5T was dissapointing)
As of now Note 9 still outweight OP7 Pro as I'm so used to Note 9.
Can fellow forumers advice?   thumbup.gif

I know asking in OP7 Pro topic might not be bias free but minta tolong!
Trimas.  thumbsup.gif

There's a few users in here who are switching from Note 9 as well. I am one of them. Let me answer you first.

Part A

1) To me, OP7 pro optic fingerprint sensor is better. It's very fast and convenient compared to rear fingerprint sensor.
2) OP7 pro camera quality is on par, if not , slightly better than Note9's. Samsung flagship camera does have its own advantages in certain circumstances, but Op7 pro has one big advantage than Note 9, which is, the ultra wide camera.
3) 256gb (base) is more than enough for regular usage unless you loves to store many movies and musics inside your phone...
4) Yes. Since OP7pro opted for full screen expereince, they ditched the notification LED.
5) No need to argue. S-Pen is Samsung Galaxy Note's speciality. You want S-pen? Note is the only option.
6) Depends on personal preference. Some people need it, some people don't care. But I think it's time to move on since almost all flagships now are moving toward to wireless era.
7) Again, exclusive only for Samsung members.
8) OP7 pro warp charge FTW.
9) Another exclusive feature for Samsung users only.

Part B

1) Definitely better than Note 9's exynos processor. Speed, system stability, connectivity, call sound quality, etc. Snapdragon is indeed better than Exynos when come to those criterias.
2) For me, same usage on both my Note 9 and OP7 pro, my OP7 pro battery life is 2X times better than Note 9, no kidding.
3) OP7 Pro full screen experience is excellent! No one can beat that!
4) Still can turn back lah. But one thing for sure, once you get used to OP7 pro 90hz screen, when you try to use another 60hz screen phone, you will definitely feel the slow down.
5) 2 years warranty is good. But most likely you won't have chance to use it because OP is well known for having the lowest failure rate in term of smart phone manufacturing.
6) Still expensive. Better go for imported set, if local warranty is not important to you.

Part C

1) Hopefully Oneplus will listen to the users' feedback and add in the AOD display (like Samsung) feature in their future updates.
2) OP7 pro camera is equally good as Samsung Note 9. At the end, it's all up to personal taste. Some people love Oneplus camera output, some love Samsung images. You can go to phone stores and "test drive" OP7 pro before you decide.

Conclusion, if S-Pen and Samsung pay are important to you, stick with Note 9. If not, go for OP7 pro.

Hmm? You ask me? Well, I don't choose. I keep both of them. brows.gif
