QUOTE(hellsphinx @ Jul 2 2019, 11:15 AM) Hi guys, a bit of update on my quest of screen protectors. Just installed x-one stealth armor. Replacing the hydrogel SP (which is still the best so far). stealth armour seldom can combo with a case due to its thickness..This xone stealth armor wrap the sides of the device. Surface smoothness....meh. Quite sticky. But better than Ringke dual easy SP (hence the price). Case compatibility....because it wraps around the device, it adds thickness to the sides. Spigen being the most tight fit, of course hates this SP. My guess is even the most forgiving case would hate this SP. The positioning of the SP is favoring the bottom side for the button holes to align perfect. This will make the SP not covering the upper bezel. I aligned the SP a bit towards the upper side, just on the upper bezel line. Even with that, the SP distorted on the bottom side with all cases. This will be off immediately after writing this. Personally, for this price....hmmm..... Maybe it is not intended for it to be paired with a case....maybe.....but without a case....the back is....hmmmm........hmmmmm....... disappointed. Another disappointment, received email from dbrand, the grip will be delayed until late july...hmmmmm...... thats why i went for the full glue TG instead and put on my UAG case.. works well. |

QUOTE(hellsphinx @ Jul 2 2019, 01:22 PM) It might sound silly, but i have to ask, once the glue is cured, will it be easy to remove the TG? Quite afraid to try the full uv glue TG 😅 QUOTE(sakurazz @ Jul 2 2019, 01:44 PM) let me answer this for you haha, i'm the supplier of the UV glue TG bro StratOS using, nothing to be worried of, not something new for this technology, i've been dealing with this UV glass for more than 2 years, i would say it's only a 5-10 seconds removal, no special tools needed. just peel and good to go, none of a single drop of glue will be leaving on your screen, and the best part is, phone's original coating will be still remains too. All tested and proven As sakurazz have mention, its one of the best solution you can get now for TG SP. Its easy to apply it yourself as well.. my 1st UV Full glue SP as well and very happy with it..best still if you're on KL, i do provide installation together |

QUOTE(hellsphinx @ Jul 16 2019, 11:32 AM) Hey guys, a while back I said that the hydrogel ~ RM13+ was the better version of hydrogel out there. Turns out the oleophobic coating did fail after 3-4 days of usage. The first few days were flawless, almost glass smooth. But after that it went bad pretty quickly. Point No.5 Important!! i made a mess on my UAG case coz i wipe it when its still very wet after applying and i hole my case and glue stick on my case.. hahaha.. now my UAG case is Matte surface instead of glossy surface.. hahahaThen, I installed TMax TG bought from sakurazz. This was my first ever installation of UV glue TG. TG usually hold their oleophobic coating far far greater then your typical plastic film SP. I did messed up my installation a bit. Here are my personal recommendation if you're going to install a full UV glue TG. 1. Taping the upper speaker grill will help you align your TG greatly. You'll noticed that the upper bezel is smaller than the lower bezel. If you tape your upper speaker grill just enough to cover the grill, you'll end up with a near perfect TG alignment. 3 tapes were provided with the TG. 2. When you drip the UV glue, dont squeeze the tube too hard. You'll get bubbles in the glue blob. You can get rid of the bubbles using the dust tape. You'll probably need a flashlight to ensure no small bubbles reside in the UV glue blob. With the screen off, you cant see the mini bubbles. I got 3 miniscule bubbles on my installation. Not visible in dark background. Only with white background you'll notice the bubbles. Like right now when I'm typing this. Haih.... 3. Make sure your hands are not contaminated with the wet UV glue during installation. It'll leave prints on your TG. 4. I used a powerbank to power the provided UV light. It'll turn off automatically around 1min or less. Not sure if its my powerbank or all powerbank behave like this. But its a good thing cause you can switch position each time it powered off. 5. Only wipe the spilled glue when the UV glue is almost or already dried. Dont wipe it when its still wet. Your cloth/tissue will absorb the glue from the edges if its still wet. Those were my personal noob opinion when installing the full UV glue TG. Case compatibility? 100% with all the cases that I have. Added bulk/weight? I dont feel any difference. Quite possibly because the phone itself is substantial heavy, and adding the case as well. TLTR - go get sakurazz's help if you're not confident. |
