Can't recive tac is very unacceptable, especially for those who had 2 factor authentication and have their phone number registered for account recovery purposes. People can get locked out from their account.

My LE2 suddenly no more 4g even force LTE mode. Celcom fallback service sucks! Many time goto E and cannot online. First time use Celcom, is their 3G really so bad?

@webeofficial should fix this problem as soon as posible. This could risk people account being locked and people isn't able to do banking / know if their credit card is used without the owners knowledge

You can tether unofficially with mifi/usb dongle, but no one is responsible if u get banned or non certified device.
For tethering with certified device, root is needed then install http injector and enable vpn over hotspot. This way hotspot clients will go through the vpn to the internet, bypassing webe tethering block page. smile.gif

If u prefer to wait, go there. As for me, I registered online and go there to collect the SIM card only. You can also have the option to send it to ur doorstep.

If timing is right, not many ppl at their "lounge". Else, you hv to queue/wait while enjoying their foods (if any...). The waiting time will be long becoz new registration number to choose. I was there last night and there was one lady keep on searching for "ong" number for 30 minutes... LOL..

Even though you walk in, you will still need to register and purchase online using webe's store surface pro. So my advice is to conplete the purchase online (you can take as long as you want i.e 15mins max) to browse through the numbers rather than ppl queing behind you waiting their turn to regiater and just walk in to collect your sim.

Well. Webe will keep track of our data usage. If they managed to detect one account to hog high data usage every "consecutive" month, they will investigate and actions may be imposed. This is what I understand by "Fair Usage Policy"...

Unifi doesn't reach at my place yet. sad.gif Honestly, I don't care too much about unlimited internet on the phone since I already have PC for my working needs. I try to make my phone solely as a phone although occasionally need to browse internet.

google for non root method, usually you just need windows software and usb cable will do
however some telco might go deep into your phone, so u need to root your phone and change the information inside build.prop
for apple phone, sorry i dunno and no interest to explore into it cos i anti apple

I beleive webe charges is exactly the same as P1. Pay first use later. You have been charged for Oct bill. But, why certified phone discount only rm50?
ok, now i understand. It is prorated discount.

Applied on 6th Sept.. full bill for Sept is
199×(25/30)=165.83
-60×(25/30)=-50
-60×(25/30)=-50
pay upfront for Oct
199
-60
-60

65.83 + 79.00 = 144.83 smile.gif

why people use fast.com (US server powered by Netflix) rather than speedtest.net (ping the nearest server to make it more accurate)?

Because most of our daily interweb is not Malaysia-based ports. Speedtest.net can manually select testing server/port within Southeast Asia but in reality we connect mostly to Europe/US/Japan server/port.

Speedtest is good to measure the max speed. If you want to find out international traffic you can use server from somewhere else.

As for fast.com we never know how they measure the speed / cannot choose the server. What we know their speed test is to netflix server. I never know my max speed when using fast.com.. This tested using 3g/unifi and also leased line..

No point having to know the max speed when the "effective" download speed is definitely lesser than the max speed in reality...

It's like a mineral water bottle. The max capacity is 600ml but "effectively" we buy/drink the water less than 600ml...

However, Google & Facebook has data center in Singapore which our government didn't realize how much money we can make if Google or Facebook move their data center in our land...so much for Cyberjaya hype...

There are so many variable. For me fast.com can show effective single thread download speed. Because when downloading I usually can get more than what fast.com show. I interested with how max speed the pipe can push through.

True. So far the webe pipe is not congested or clogged. Once many ppl MNP to webe, I'll jump to another spaceship... No contract package only yaaa...

Today I get 4.7Mbps...next 6 months it'll be either higher or lesser... If lesser, I'll jump to another spaceship...

As of now, I'm switching between UniFi and webe. Currently, lowyat server is not hand-shake properly with UniFi. But webe to lowyat server is wonderful... Every time I wanna reply to this forum, I'll switch to webe. Just a 5 seconds process..when I wanna watch/stream 1080P60fps YouTube, switch back to UniFi...

I'm happy how quickly webe can connect to my Note 5 between WiFi/HDSPA+/LTE band switching...so far so good..

Just like software license years ago, dev use hard-lock (aka dongle) to keep the license.

Same goes to the SIM Card that u get from webe. It's hack-able but they can still trace and u'll be penalized for hacking their SIM card...

Same goes to Touch 'n Go, credit card, myKad/IC... All are hack-able but risky...

Becoz TM = Total Monopoly.... Every telco hogs their backbone/pipe...

Since webe is now "anak ikan penyu" TM, in these few months, the connection should be marvelous to attract new customers...

Been using webe for the last 4 weeks, and the experience using it in alor star and changlun has been a mixed bag. Speedtest records up to 10mbps, opening facebook browsing the web is fast, but streaming YouTube even at 360p still results in buffering. Also LTE speed is garbage, super slow and unreliable so i lock the connection at 3G all the time

At 4.7Mbps (my location) is OK for RM199 - RM60 I must say... But, mobile cannot do much compared to desktop/fixed line Internet access...Can't download "this-&-that", can't PS4/XboX, can't hack "this-&-that"... etc...

I'd rather pay RM6.36 tethering access fee to do desktop/mac/PS4/Xbox staff in 2 hours...or not coz can bypass the tethering blocking mechanism..

Or jump ship to U-Mobile P98 plan (compared to RM199 - RM60) to tether all 30GB in a month...

My UniFi monthly usage is above 1TB a month due to "this-&-that" activities...thanks to 30Mbps "EFFECTIVE" speed to worldwide servers...so, I totally abuse the UniFi account... Now abusing webe pulak when I'm on the road...

So I'm trying out webe redmi note 3 pro & iphone 6s.
4g webe not within coverage so only 3g speed so the speed is still acceptable.
On iphone 6s, i can get around 5-6mbps on 3g
But really poor speed on redmi note 3 pro, even the browsing is snail speed. Had to manually add apn setting for webe but still slow.

Anyone else using webe on redmi note 3 pro?
Anything else needs to be configured? On stock miui or cm13?

before this i can get 8mbps, but rarely..
now terrible.. download speed no 2mbps..
and mostly 0.5mps speed below...

using stable rom miui..
APN automatic set.. no use manual add...
*
I see, gonna test flashing back to miui 8
Been using cm13 for a while now
I really prefer using webe on my note 3 pro since it has bigger battery.
Will see if the speed improves this time around

Btw, what if I test webe on tablet like ipad? Is the discount automatically deducted if webe sim detected on non certified device?

Is it 7 day after a fixed date when using a non certified device?
Like if I test today (02/10), then it ends on 09/10?
So I can basically any uncertified device during those 7 days?

Go to http://p1.com.my/contactus to online chat with them. Basically, P1 and webe are the same company.

Oops, was going to order with SCB25 from Gemfive, since my Le2 cannot detect Band 5. I tested with it yesterday in Ipoh rd area can get 20+Mb down & 5Mb up.

It;s based on ur billing date. Can see in webe selfcare how long your next bill will be ready. Also, every 1 day you used the non certified device, their system will alert you the next day.

Redmi note 3 pro and so far am not able to detect LTE band using my LE2 which was able to set LTE when I force it 2 days ago, since then no luck on getting 4G again. Maybe Webe was testing band 38 then.

register on the spot, get activated on the spot lor.

upfront payment rm106. first bill on 1 Nov, will have more because you're paying current month (oct) and next month (nov).

quickly test with your phone, see if your phone is detected as "certified" ya. then make complaint immediately if sms says otherwise biggrin.gif

Someone mentioned doable but wont get the discount for certified devices. Best would be to find the way to bypass detection for tethering as some suggested.

I suppose there are 3 groups of ppl here:
1 already knew the methods and are afraid that the 'spys' will close those holes if they are disclosed openly;
and the 2nd group who are less tech-savvy but eager to know the tricks from those who are willing to impart(the 3rd group) their knowledge.

Are Webe so stupid they dont know such loopholes? May be it is not worth their while becos we are just a small group.

If there is a rule here forbidding us to talk about tricks n bypass, then we should abide to it, but is there?

Theory, Webe can only track teatheting for phones which are certified, hence they charge 60 bucks to uncertified phones as they could teather and get away with it.

as long its not widespread (eg the same thing for other telco quota bypass) it will have minimal impact on infrastructure and just allow it

Is it that bad? I just ordered mine last Friday, waiting for it this week.

Were told it's really unlimited data & quota. So the 20GB max and slow speed after that is a myth?

actually i have an idea. since ppl using webe for usb dongle to pc, u might as well attach an external 3g antenna to the dongle for better speed? (google to do this modification)

also webe most probably wont block activating internet sharing via wifi on windows

I've received my webe simcard on 29/9, 2 days after my subscription. Porting from maxis to webe, got activated on the 1/10. But just started using webe last night (2/10) cuz I've been away to Mersing and i left my webe simcard back home (duhh!)

Been using maxis/hotlink since 2001 (timecel) i am no longer a loyal person lol, and this is my first time changing my official no to other than maxis. i also used celcom postpaid before for work purposes. Idk, just want to give it a go. If i dont like it, i'll terminate it later.

Here's my speedtest, there's a diff between Mbps and MBps right? Correct me if i'm wrong.

VPN abuse detected.... LOL... j/k

Seems good for 11Mbps LTE 850MHz...you should be happy over there... Go ahead and tether as much as you want before webe take actions to block VPN.

But other locations cannot beat ur previous Maxis coverage and stability...

the certified phone has stated the P9 Plus only
that mean P9 and P9 Lite is not compatible at all? since the P9 plus and P9 just a matter of screen size and ram.

Hai loohhhh.... webe claim is only true if u r transmitting within their mothership... Almost 90Mbps! That's 3 times faster than my fixed 30Mbps UniFi.... So, go grab their SIM and test/tether/VPN kaw-kaw while waiting for other telcos to counter-offer webe "false" ads....

Are both of you apply new webe number or port in from other telco?

For my case, I port from U-Mobile and I did not receive any TAC from any vendors.

I'm not worrying becoz this webe line/number is not my daily usage. I use it for "unlimited" data purposes only.

I will port out back to U-Mobile once they patch the tethering "hack"...

I have a hypothesis that those who subscribe to webe new number will get TAC while those who port-in will not get TAC....

not sure bcoz of my phone or webe 4G quality..
its unusable if i set to LTE/3G setting bcoz of the jumping around frm 4G,H+,H

now i fixed it at 3G only. then its bearable.
wanna see how its goes this weekend.

I mean about the MNP. You mention it is not a wise decision to port over? Does numbers can cause issue with TAC?

Okay I just got my webe sim. Put it on OnePlus 3 (which is 850mhz supported but on their website don't list this phone), got a message my phone is not supported.

But I follow the instruction to put the APN at the back of the sim card. LTE shows right away.

Question is, will I be charged as non-supported phone? While it clearly supported 850mhz. hmm.gif

I think for those phone that support 850mhz doesn't mean is certified by Webe.

Ok. Thanks for the reply. I thougjt it is due to TAC issue. Some are not facing it while some are. Just wonder if +60111 numbers are ok for TAC or not..

This is what my hypothesis was... Only those apply for new webe number aka 011 from fresh will have no problem to receive TAC... Those port in from Celcom kaaa, DiGi kaaa, U-Mobile kaaa, Maxis kaaa, etc-etc will get TAC issue...

You will not getting the discount if you got a message stated it is not certified phone even the phone do support LTE 850. The system is quite smart in detecting non certified phone.

Temporary measures...

But for online banking transactions, suggest to sort with the bank..

Luckily my webe account / number is for data usage only... No need to worry about TAC...

I have submitted a report via live chat... If within 7 working days no improvement, confirm webe after sales service bley kasi itu Atok Pen-Pineapple-Apple-Pen... LOL...

Hi there. Your phone is supported however, we have no tested the phone for compatibility on our side. We have to test if this phone is compatible with our webe 4G LTE. Since we havent test, it will not be on the list. You will not be eligible for the discount at the moment untuk we test out that phone.

Goto frequencycheck.com

Alternatively, devicespecification.com. But some data may not be updated/accurate.

Use both to cross check...

QUOTE(xisan @ Oct 4 2016, 02:54 PM)
Okay I just got my webe sim. Put it on OnePlus 3 (which is 850mhz supported but on their website don't list this phone), got a message my phone is not supported.

But I follow the instruction to put the APN at the back of the sim card. LTE shows right away.

Question is, will I be charged as non-supported phone? While it clearly supported 850mhz. hmm.gif

Pls update back when op3 is supported, I'm using that as well, n the only thing holding me back is the certified phone discount

Requested to port in to Webe from Celcom, waited for days and keep complaining but later find out my Celcom number has 30 days minimum tenure period to port out.

Do Tunetalk, One XOX, U Mobile have such policy?

Oh snap... Just like Apple, they both still have old tech, i.e. Single SIM card...

No dual-SIM, can't rob my cash... too bad...

Besides, it's overpriced :
"Pricing starts at $649 for the smaller 5-inch Pixel with 32GB of storage, available for preorder today. That number scales up to $749 with 128GB of onboard storage, $769 for the larger Pixel XL with 32GB, or $869 for the XL with 128GB".

I think someone pointed it out before. The 2Mbps (or equivalent 2xxKBps) is a limit when you roam on Celcom 3G/H+ network

DiGi 512kbps means your download speec around 50KBps only la

Years ago.. In xda forum.. Many developers agreed that iphone is much superior when come for receiving data 3g/lte compared to other phone... Dont know if samsung/huawei able to beat iphone now in term of radio reception

Webe Test Day 1,

Phone not certified and without band5.
Mobile network setting on LTE is causing internet slow respond, set it to 3G.
Hotpot button still able active but no function with webe. (received SMS, Opss you have not activated personal wifi, come and buy from me. LOL)

Speedtest result average DL9M UL4.5M
Playstore download DL1M
Kodi streaming average 1.5M-2M
HyppTV streaming less than 1M
Kodi download average 2M

Conclusion, i am testing Celcom network under Webe plan. @@

wow all complaining about the speed, as for me i think the speed is only capped on goggle related apps and website but to be frank, 200kBps++ is consider good speed at this price as compare to Streamyx 2Mbps package. so i got no issue with the speed capped

Seems like my redmi note 3 pro on developer rom(marshmallow version) tends to stick to 3g/H instead of HSPA+ which my other uncertified device does better
Anyone know of any secret codes to lock specific 3g/H signal?

wow  complaining about the speed, as for me i think the speed is only capped on goggle related apps and website but to be frank, 200kBps++ is consider good speed at this price as compare to Streamyx 2Mbps package. so i got no issue with the speed capped
*
yeah so many user here talking bout the speed capped,
so im so tempted to know whether is true or not. the answer is not. no speed cap as per im test just now. u guys must already know how to squeeze the juice rite. so i decide to subs 6 ringgit thethering.. (kopak duit aku 6 hengget bln dpn hehe) no crack no tools no filter.. clean thethering with iphone n mac . tested dwd with idm .. the result is same with speedtest.. case closed

Anyone know of any secret codes to lock specific 3g/H signal?

Change ownership need to charge RM60?

I just received my port out rejected by Celcom due to 30 days tenure period. Was worrying TAC code so didn't use my existing number, chose to port in with new Celcom number, should have choose U Mobile new number which can MNP immediately upon activation, damn it.

Now need to wait till 27th to request MNP again.

I know that one, but that's only for locking to 4g/3g only
Needed something like samsung roms/aosp had that you can lock specific 3g signal like H or HSPA+ only
Found *#301279# code but that's not working for me

Okay, not sure what just happened
Switch my webe to 2nd sim slot on my redmi note 3 and I'm getting 4g instantly without having to configure anything
It's stuck on 3g on the first sim slot for some reason

Location, paka
And now it's going haywire again (4g, 3g, no signal and it's back again)

Hotpot button still able active but no function with webe. (received SMS, Opss you have not activated personal wifi, come and buy from me. LOL)

Speedtest result average DL9M UL4.5M
Playstore download DL1M
Kodi streaming average 1.5M-2M
HyppTV streaming less than 1M
Kodi download average 2M

Conclusion, i am testing Celcom network under Webe plan. @@

Im in Publika rn. Cant get a stable LTE but i have the result for 3G. It range between 5-8Mbps. Meanwhile in LTE is around 2Mbps.

Will update when im at home, which is Ampang but i did get full coverage for LTE and 3G, which tops at 17Mbps irrc on LTE. Will screenshot and update later.

Update: I have to go to the window in my office which is 8 storey high to get better LTE signal.

USB will not trigger the tethering detection since it's 1 device only and direct connected. You will be able to connect using Mifi but cannot surf because of tethering.

Not so much different compared to Publika in 3G and LTE in Ampang. But, LTE is full compared to Publika when im in my office building.

I think the speed issue depends on where your location is. So far for me in Sungai Buloh, there's no issue regarding the speed.

I stream a lot 720p movies via Play Box HD on my iPhone 6s with no lags or buffering. Youtube and facebook video is ok for me. As for now. I am so happy with the unlimited data.

I sometimes do uber at night, i'll run the speedtest at diff places around this week. Will come back later with a report.

Got technology change, P1 used wimax technology but Webe use LTE technology. Only need to change the hardware on the telco tower.

For places that do not have P1 coverage before this, Webe use roaming agreement with Celcom.

I already mine last week, ordered on Friday, want to self pickup as I already at Webe Shop by accident. Cannot self collect.

Did that way... depends on the queue, the process alone is to verify your thumbprint and then you sign their document to receive the SIM. Should take less than 10 minutes... The waiting queue that makes the whole process takes 30 minutes or so...

So far there's nothing mentioning about quota in the FUP...besides, it's no contract which is a tremendous win on our side...Not happy later (TAC code not received.....?), just kill the service....

Fair Usage Policy

In reality, AS OF TODAY, streaming to any servers are A-OK... but don't expect 4K NetFlix streaming laaa.... good enuff to watch "ehem-ehem" via 6" screen... I use Note 5, no regrets having webe now... hopefully this wet dreams will last...LOL...

Well... you can bring your phone there to try the crew member's SIM card... different phones will give different outcome.... but don't get fooled by the speedtest results. You are inside their mothership, of course the download speed is >50Mbps all the time...

In reality, AS OF TODAY, streaming to any servers are A-OK... but don't expect 4K NetFlix streaming laaa.... good enuff to watch via 6" screen... I use Note 5, no regrets having webe now... hopefully this wet dreams will last...LOL...

for my using experienced since i got the sim yesterday.
my phone is oneplus 3 and i never able to connect to Webe 4G instead i connected to celcom 3g only when my location is 100% coverage in webe location coverage information.
during my roaming to celcom 3g the speedtest able to reach 8mb however going to youtube and other apps like downloading files from many different sites, the speed is all cap at 2mb.
which mean u only get the full speed when you are doing speedtest others then that all apps are giving maximum speed of 2mb only.
good luck for those still hesitating whether wanna to port to Webe.
it is truely disappointed of their strategy for approach us.

It's a serious issue which webe tech team until today has so solution. So, be warned... Use webe only for the data/call/sms but not assigning the number for Two-Step Authentication.

However, there is webe subscribers who does not face this plague. Nobody knows why until today...mystery plague..

depend on ur usage style.
if u want faster more than 15-40Mbps. stick with others

but if u want eat all u can style ( well.. i mean eat like u normally eat pace . NOT like Luffy or Goku eating style ) .. get webe.

That's what good about contract-less subscription...can test and terminate anytime. Only hassle is to get back your credits/deposit in webe account...

webe just "Keep me hangin on"

i don't think so la, since he only use 2 days, then the calculation should be as below:

RM106 - RM79*2/31*1.06 = RM100.60

he still can get back RM100 cheque book la

Hi, would like to know if I choose to delivery my sim card, do the recipient ID must be same as the person registered the sim?
Webe website states that no third party can receive

or just like normal courier where they just record down the recipient ID

all telco use the same terms & condition la, but in practical they will charge according to the number of days you use on that month before you terminate the line. if they don't do such way u can always complain to CFM~

If you have to setup manually which mean your phone is not certified by Webe yet.
Btw, I managed to get 4G on OnePlus 3 when it first arrived to my door. But later on, I just changed to my P9+ as I don't want to be charger RM60+ because OnePlus 3 not certified yet.
Even though it supports 850mhz
