4. Should I get the iPhone 6s or 6s Plus?
It's up to you. If you think larger screen is better then go for it.

5. When Apple said 16/10, it means that we can buy on that day or it'll start shipping on that day or...?
It means you can start ordering from Apple Online Store or any authroised retail store.

as usual, maxis server down and overloaded. oh well guess i gotta play the waiting game. opting for 64GB RG 6S+... haisss

Afraid if digi mess up like last year

If i have an existing plan and just want to add 1/2 phone to it can preorder through that website also??

On paper, the 2 main selling point is 3D Touch and 4K video but there are other improvements that comes with the phone and from my experience:

1. Battery life - far more superior than 6+, no joke. The phone also runs cooler despite continuous usage, clearly an improvement over the A8 chip.

2. Faster CPU & more RAM - The 6+ was a bit laggy/sluggish but the new 6S+ is blazing fast, smooth and crisp. The extra RAM also helps when you multi task, open multiple windows in Safari, etc. Games and apps load insanely fast.

3. Faster LTE - Same network, same spot but with the 6S+, the speed is much faster.

4. Camera - Improvements to it and front camera now captures much better quality selfies.

It's subjective on how everyone justifies whether it is a good upgrade or not and besides, it's up to us on how we use the phone. When we buy something, it doesn't mean we need to use ALL the features. We buy something because we love and want it. People that dictates how others uses their stuffs are just pathetic

For the same reason, a 40 year old woman can buy a Mini Cooper S but is it a concern if she uses all the features, if she speeds, if she takes sharp corners? She buys the damn car because she wants/loves it

Hence, just decide if it's a good buy for yourself and most importantly, you need to enjoy it. Personally, I feel that it's a good upgrade. Just my 2 cents.

exactly as pointed out here. TSMC or Samsung, they will both handle your daily needs just fine.
Even if I'm gaming on these chips, i find no lag whatsoever which can frustrate me.
Don't worry about the components and just enjoy the phone.

ive been wondering the part battery life cause im a heavy internet user and the battery seems really good for a large screen phone..and after news came about the chipset difference it makes sense...im a happy camper..

touch id in 6s is blazingly fast according to reviews.
plus battery life is much better than 6 too.
but if im using 6 now, 6s really not much 'wow' effect to me except its colour.

touch id isn't my thing.

they might say that but coming from a samsung note 4 ..i feel the battery life is better than any phone i used before..
and i used quite a lot of phones before.

What I felt like is if Apple made a statement.. It means it's more than that.
I talked to a guy on the Apple Online Chat and he said that no one would want the Samsung chip too and he understands cause it's also few degrees hotter than the TSMC chip..

All of us felt that at one point or another.
If you are someone who upgrades every year regardless of anything, then you will end up getting it no matter what.
But if you are not upgrading every year, then you would probably end doing so when the is major hardware change.
Touch ID is something i can't afford not to have anymore. combine that with virtual home, its no pressing of home button anymore. just tapping.


Based on my usage, i can go on without charging it for 1.5-2 days.
Thats good enough for me.

Since then 5s, Maxis dont entertain walk ins to buy their iphones during launch date. Only those who preordered can collect their phones that day. I dont suggest you queue as you will waste your time for nothing. If you want to queue, do so at the Apple Resellers like Machines, Switch etc.

we are lucky to some how get the iPhones in second wave.
otherwise usually our country will be 4/5 wave and by then we are almost half thru the product cycle.
i'd say that if you know that you are suppose to get it, just go ahead.
waiting longer will only shorten the product cycle.

After using 3D touch, I find that I relied on it too much as it just reduce the steps of doing certain task.

For those thinking whether should get it now or not, don't think. Just buy. In SG, all 3 telcos still stating RG is OOS unless you get from Apple Store.

Yup. Right now, based on today's rate, you stand to save about RM$95 if you get a Singapore (more if you fly out and get a GST refund) set. Doesn't look like Apple will adjust rates here so soon though, so we probably will be stuck at the current prices, especially since they seem to have agreed terms with Malaysian telcos already.

Obviously the difference will be negated if you have to drive or fly into Singapore just for the phone, but if you're already there for work or something, then I suppose it's worth it.

it should be fine since they will allocate specific time for self-collect (7am-10am 16th oct) which is not the business hours. i read somewhere in maxis fb they said if want to walk in buy from maxis has to be on business hours

Why restrict collection time to 7-10am ?? I really don't understand logic behind it. If they are worried about large crowd turning up , why not give preference to those who turn up for collection or setup a counter for such buyers??
The Maxis online site is terribly slow. This morning my que was no 8 but yet needed to wait for nearly 15 minutes before I could proceed to step of purchasing. One minute I thought my iMac hung as zero response from the site!!

Like I said, if you were to queue at Maxis Centres, it would be a wild goose chase. You wont know which one centres has the model you want. However I would suggest you go to larger Maxis centres like KLCC, Sunway and TTDI. Usually these larger branches will have more stocks.

Example : If subscribe i40 prepaid plan

RM3121.40 for iphone 64gb + RM254.40 for upfront payment = RM3376.41

If cancel plan immediately, no fine and only lost the upfront payment.

RM3376.41 for an iphone 6S 64gb compared to retail price RM3699.

But isn't this the whole idea of their strategy? Customers are not tied to a contract with them, just have to purchase a RM159 prepaid topup and also upfront, so if you continue to use their service then the upfront will be rebate back over time but if you don't use it they can still treat the topup and upfront as some sort of "termination fee" and to cover back their subsidy of the phone.

On October 16 you can purchase the iPhones at any Authorized Apple Stores or on Apple Malaysia's website.

But you have to queue for it. A few authorized apple stores are Machines (machines.com.my) or Mac-City (maccity.com.my) Good luck! They normally also have stock count on their Facebook pages.
