So which telco is the best? Price + 4G speed + coverage.
Maxis is overpriced for the amount of data they offered, so I don't know why so many people flock to Maxis. Umobile is affordable but speed and coverage is less than Celcom.
So Celcom RM85 plan gives me subsidised price of RM2988 for iPhone 6S Plus 64GB. Which seems a nice deal to me.
Any ideas?

If i may add. The comparison is inaccurate and unfair.
As previously mention GST was not included.

Also this comparison is made with the assumption of you would be spending RM85-100 a month regardless of the phone price as a baseline which is highly inaccurate comparison. There are also alot of other factors to consider.

The preferred way IMO is to decide on what do we really need first?
Eg, If unlimited phone calls and sms is what we need, then we should compare Umobile i90 with Maxis one plan 128 only.
Kindly take note that umobile i90 plan is similar to P70 plan + RM20. while maxis plan is unchanged.

Umobile would cost RM 5930.7 for a 24month iphone 6splus 128gb while
Maxis would cost RM6717.22 for a 24month iphone 6splus 128gb
(note: umobile has additional 4gb extra than Maxis)\

Another factor to consider is getting the phone with contract or buying the phone individually.
There are several other factors and some people would made the calculations and realize it maybe cheaper to buy the phone alone without the contract.

For someone who does not make much calls and only want a plan to surf, which telecom and plan do you recommend?
Ideal quota is 5GB (LTE) and budget less than RM100.
Thanks.

Heartache looking at the new price...A base model for 15" is 8999... Wth. That was 5.6k 1.5 years back.. Crazy how the prices increase like that.

Yea it's crazy. It's completely unfair to Malaysian consumers.
My suggestion to Apple is to slightly increase the prices, and to restrict purchase to one for foreigners and at most 2-3 for local.

Better goto Apple support and talk to a genius online. If still cannot solve, goto Apple service centre to fix.

I am thinking of getting either the Note 5 or iPhone 6s Plus.. Note 5 seems to have a better display and at a much lower price ...also I have an iPad Air already (and a Mac).

Besides Umobile, which telco allows installment or easy payment plan for the payment of the phone?

I know this sounds counter intuitive but if you already have an iPad Air, get the Note 5 or better still Nexus 6P next month (for me) as your phone as its more interesting to try two ecosystem at the same time and it's cheaper. Using both iPad and iPhone especially 6s+ is just too much iOS for me at one time as the features and usage not significantly different, that's why I never use an iPad. Unlike the watch that enhances the experience, iPad-iPhone combo just too jialat for me personally. This will change of course with iPad Pro with Apple Pencil (waited years for this).

I use every ecosystem and brands, no insane allegiance to any manufacturer but from my record and experience (this is personal, doesn't apply to anyone!), there is just something missing from Samsung products..I tried hard to use it for long term but not one ever passed 2 months. Only 3 smartphone brands managed to stay longer than a year as my primary device - Nokia, Sony and longest Apple

Yup seems like a good reason, so I prolly wait for iPhone 7 and get note 5 for now biggrin.gif
