I'm just freaking out with the TSMC and Samsung chip thing D: God damn Apple.

Quoting from imore : To be clear, if you're a tech enthusiast who is super into extreme workloads and synthetic benchmarks, it's an interesting subject to knock around. If you're a mainstream consumer, ignore the noise. There's no meaningful difference between iPhones and your time is much better spent enjoying your new phone

http://www.imore.com/apple-comments-a9-chipset-performance
*
exactly as pointed out here. TSMC or Samsung, they will both handle your daily needs just fine.
Even if I'm gaming on these chips, i find no lag whatsoever which can frustrate me.
Don't worry about the components and just enjoy the phone. smile.gif

Apple Claims TSMC vs Samsung A9 Chip Variants Result in Only 2-3% Difference in 'Real World' Battery Life

QUOTE
With the Apple-designed A9 chip in your iPhone 6s or iPhone 6s Plus, you are getting the most advanced smartphone chip in the world. Every chip we ship meets Apple's highest standards for providing incredible performance and deliver great battery life, regardless of iPhone 6s capacity, color, or model.
Certain manufactured lab tests which run the processors with a continuous heavy workload until the battery depletes are not representative of real-world usage, since they spend an unrealistic amount of time at the highest CPU performance state. It's a misleading way to measure real-world battery life. Our testing and customer data show the actual battery life of the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus, even taking into account variable component differences, vary within just 2-3% of each other.

touch id in 6s is blazingly fast according to reviews.
plus battery life is much better than 6 too.
but if im using 6 now, 6s really not much 'wow' effect to me except its colour.

touch id isn't my thing. laugh.gif
*
All of us felt that at one point or another.
If you are someone who upgrades every year regardless of anything, then you will end up getting it no matter what.
But if you are not upgrading every year, then you would probably end doing so when the is major hardware change.
Touch ID is something i can't afford not to have anymore. combine that with virtual home, its no pressing of home button anymore. just tapping.

QUOTE(froggyx @ Oct 9 2015, 01:37 PM)
they might say that but coming from a samsung note 4 ..i feel the battery life is better than any phone i used before..
and i used quite a lot of phones before.
*
Based on my usage, i can go on without charging it for 1.5-2 days.
Thats good enough for me.

MYR is strengthening over SGD and USD.

Both USD and SGD units are becoming cheaper compared to MY too. Shall we wait?

i'll wait for umobile.

their price for 6 is yummy
*
we are lucky to some how get the iPhones in second wave.
otherwise usually our country will be 4/5 wave and by then we are almost half thru the product cycle.
i'd say that if you know that you are suppose to get it, just go ahead.
waiting longer will only shorten the product cycle.
my 2 cents on waiting. icon_rolleyes.gif

At the end of the day, it's still an iPhone and we're all in the same ship.

After using 3D touch, I find that I relied on it too much as it just reduce the steps of doing certain task.

For those thinking whether should get it now or not, don't think. Just buy. In SG, all 3 telcos still stating RG is OOS unless you get from Apple Store.
*
3D touch is getting to me very fast.
Sooner than i expected it to.
But it gets frustrating when other apps i use don't support it yet. sweat.gif

TM's way of trolling Apple.
Pretty sure it won't be iPhone related, but using that advert style and that too a day before iPhone launch, dayum.

Eye catchy and got the job done.

Anandtech review of the TSMC n Samsung chip. Read their conclusion summary. Is non conclusive.  Basically I feel is just an overblown issue.
http://www.anandtech.com/show/9708/analyzi...-and-samsung-a9

Quote
THE CONCLUSION
Wrapping things up then, where do we stand? The short answer is that all we know is that we don't know. What we know is that there isn't enough information currently out there to accurately determine whether the TSMC or Samsung A9 SoC has better power consumption, and more importantly just how large any difference might be. 1-on-1 comparisons under controlled conditions can provide us with some insight in to how the TSMC and Samsung A9s compare, but due to the natural variation in chip quality, it's possible to end up testing two atypical phones and never know it.

To that end I suspect that Apple's statement is not all that far off. They are of course one of the few parties able to actually analyze a large number of phones, and perhaps more to the point, having a wide variation in battery life on phones - even if every phone meets the minimum specifications - is not a great thing for Apple. It can cause buyers to start hunting down phones with "golden" A9s, and make other buyers feel like they've been swindled by not receiving an A9 with as low the power consumption as someone else. To be clear there will always be some variance and this is normal and expected, but if Apple has done their homework they should have it well understood and reasonably narrow. The big risk to Apple is that dual sourcing A9s in this fashion makes that task all the harder, which is one of the reasons why SoCs are rarely dual sourced.
*
This issue is really blown out of proportion by bloggers and other reporting sites.
Those people just needed a new -gate issue and could only come up with this.
Both companies are reputable chipmakers. Which chip you have in your phone should not determine how much you can enjoy your phone right?
People should forget all about this and just focus on getting their phones. Not guessing which chip is gonna end up in their phone.

Battery also lasting me 1.5 days.
I don't see what they are complaining about.

hmm.. optical stabilisation. Any idea why 6s+ have it and not in the 6S?

No one is entirely sure but some have said the smaller size and less space inside the iPhone 6 is the reason they can't fit the OIS module which requires placing the lens/sensor on mounted springs which make the whole OIS thing tick.
Just a theory, no confirmation whatsoever

I always like spigen cases. These are few cases from them that show the back of the iPhone with transparent cover.

personally i have used ultra hybrid and it provides really good grip and good drop protection.

cheers

Spigen offer a good wide selection based on colour and designs.
Power Support offer minimalistic clear, matte, or smoked Air Jackets.
There is a cheap clear TPU as well found in GS.

Can make your choice.

In general yes as it is the new colour and easier to differentiate from previous gen iPhone.
your question is based on buying to sell or buying to use?

Hi, this is my first time buying iPhone, which place is better to buy iPhone 6S from, machine or telco shop? Thanks in advance

You buy from telco to get at subsidised or slightly cheaper than rrp, provided you can benefit from the plan as well.
Otherwise feel free to buy from Machines or Apple Store online at full retail price.

Its launching on the 16th. Either line up the night before or order online on that day and let it be delivered to your doorstep.

I've got my eyes on the powersupport air jacket series as well for the 6S, however the local store sales persons are saying the casings wouldn't fit on the newer gens where I'm quite in doubt of their statement  hmm.gif

Having a feeling they're gonna wait until 6S comes out and place a "6S compatible" sticker and hike up the price  cry.gif
*
There is no right or wrong answer here. Simply put, most cases should fit the new phone nicely.
Having said that, I had a AirJacket from my 6Plus time and tried it on my 6SPlus. It fit nice and snug. No issues there.

The Malaysian site doesn't not show any indication of GST being inclusive like they do in SG or AU stores.
But then again maybe that will change once the phones become available to purchase.
I believe that will be inclusive price come 16.
Fingers crossed .
