true, no need to chase after it, it will come to u eventually
satisfied with the SCB JustOne for now (until I've finish ed off the RM600 rebate)
*
Oh yes, talking about SCB Just1 cc, I'll completely finish up the RM600 rebate entitlement once I settle my hotel bills this weekend. I have no idea what cards to use next, as my Alliance isn't great enough (rebate for up to RM5000 purchase/month).

QUOTE(MilesAndMore @ Jul 28 2009, 01:12 PM)
Good to know.

By the way, i was confirmed by one of the HSBC staff that the annual fee for HSBC VISA Platinum credit card will be automatically waived provided you swipe it once a month.
*
HSBC Visa Plat's requirement is on a par with SCB VI, @RM150k/annum. Benefit wise, SCB VI is better off. As HSBC Visa Plat's AF could be waived, I doubt the AF for SCB VI will be waiveable after the 3-year FOC period.

I love their FREE Entry to Plaza Premium Lounge
The GSC offers movie discounts... maybe can just use the FREE RM100 Bonus Value(BV)

*I read their terms that their Platinum Free-For-Life need to swipe 36 times in one year sad.gif
*
The Platinum card need to swap 3 times per month and 36 times in one year.
1st swap petrol, 2nd swap pay bill, 3rd swap etc.
You can do this in every month tongue.gif

That's the problem... I don't like to swipe to "earn" my FREE annual fee.
I guess I will cancel the card after utilising the RM100 BV (if it's the GSC card)

I'm collecting Free-For-Life CC (with no strings attached) : DA Platinum / Maybank Petronas / Amex Gold CC / SonyCard
I guess this EON card doesn't hit my mark.

@hafiz_control,
Y don't U check if the card is oredi on ur M2U? If it's reflected on ur M2U then U can be sure the card's approved; then U just have to wait till the card is sent to u.

@MilesAndMore,
So this HSBC Visa Platinum is different from the HSBC Premier? Cause if I ain't mistaken, HSBC Premier doesn't give U 80% of your time deposit; AFAIK their CL starts at RM40k.

Thanks for the shedding a light on the Visa & Mastercard categories. Looks like I now need to get my hands on the World Mastercard. So, which banks offer it again? tongue.gif

@Aeon_Clock,
We're talking about RM150k-240k annual income for the Visa Infinite. Am not sure about the World Mastercard though. And here's the SCB VI sample picture U asked for:

Would recommend that you go with the CIMB Enrich World Mastercard, its the most exclusive World card in M'sia for now tongue.gif

As to the SCB VI, its FOC for 3 years to selected clients of the bank. It was during the initial launching of the card, not sure if now still applicable ie. the package that came with the pre-approved card has a nice invitation specifically stating such a term.

@tgeoklin,
AhHhhh... well I didn't get any pre-approved card from SCB but that's also because I'm not one of their elite customers *siGh* Nah.. not going to go get the World Mastercard - don't see a reason to be carrying so many cards.

Well, the World Card sure would have been a nice addition to your emaculate collection. No need to carry around, just lock in your safe & ogle at it as and when you free drool.gif

I want rebate, rebate and rebate! I don't spend much when I'm in M'sia. Only spending in overseas on company stuffs can make me accumulate points and rebates faster. I may get an Amex cc before my next trip to overseas so that I can get the Longines watch. tongue.gif

RM50K CL to qualify for VI? If you ask me that is kind of low as Plat starting CL (exclude Robinson and UOB ONE card) usually at RM30K right?

If you spend overseas and since you finished up your JustOne rebate limit, best option after that is Alliance up to RM5K/month and you earn 2X points for overseas spending. After RM5K limit with Alliance, use CIMB/DA VI, you get 0.5% rebate and 1% rebate for overseas transactions but points 1X only. Else for local use get AMEX charged card 3X Turbo which give you 1.5% rebate when redeem with MR but not worth it for overseas as fees 2.5%.

winner, have you applied for AMEX Gold CC 5X rewards since Fridays no longer of importance to you.

Yah, rebate is great as it is tax free (for now).

Actually the standard of plat cards had diminished drastically, thus the need for new cards to be introduced tongue.gif

what's the minimum income requirement for the World Mastercard Elite or Visa Infinite? Anyone got a photo of what its like? drool.gif
As mentioned earlier, World Mastercard Elite is NOT available in Malaysia.

@MilesAndMore,
So this HSBC Visa Platinum is different from the HSBC Premier?  Cause if I ain't mistaken, HSBC Premier doesn't give U 80% of your time deposit; AFAIK their CL starts at RM40k.

According to the HSBC staff (she's a Premier relationship manager), the minimum credit line for HSBC Premier Mastercard is RM30,000 but most approved HSBC Premier Mastercard carry a slightly higher credit line than the minimum credit line. I guess this is why most HSBC Premier Mastercard cardholders here said that their credit line for the card is RM40,000 instead of RM30,000 but the REAL minimum credit line for HSBC Premier Mastercard is ONLY RM30,000.

HSBC VISA Platinum is indeed different from HSBC Premier Mastercard. The HSBC staff told me that the HSBC Premier Mastercard is NOT tied to any of our "Time Deposit" accounts with the bank hence the credit line given for HSBC Premier Mastercard won't be 80% of our total "Time Deposit" in HSBC. I was also told that HSBC Premier Mastercard is a complimentary card issued to HSBC Premier customers as a gesture for supporting and being loyal to HSBC.

Should we already have a HSBC Premier Mastercard but wish to get a second card from HSBC, we will be told to apply for HSBC VISA Platinum pledged by one of our Time Deposit accounts held with HSBC. Please also note that when approved, both HSBC Premier Mastercard and HSBC VISA Platinum will carry a SEPARATE CREDIT LINE.

They will need to prepare a letter when you want to apply for a credit card pledged by Time Deposit (TD/FD) and this process usually will take 3 - 4 days smile.gif

CIMB Bank, Direct Access and MBF. You will be given both World Mastercard and VISA Infinite when you apply either one from CIMB Bank or Direct Access. The CIMB Bank World Mastercard is point based system while VISA Infinite will give you 0.5% cash rebate for local transaction and 1% for overseas spending.

Earlier on, someone said his/her Platinum credit card only has RM20,000 of credit line. If my memory serves me correctly, i think it's Preferred Platinum VISA/Mastercard from UOB Bank.
