@air,
Er.. how is it that the CS can make U pay unnecessary fees?! Also, UOB Visa + Citibank MasterCard is fine. It's UOB Visa Classic + UOB Visa Gold + UOB Visa Platinum is what I was told cannot but tgeoklin said it can be done wor *shrugs*

I don't hold more than 2 cards from each bank hence I'm not too sure lah!

Ya, i often curious why only the IT merchants always request the consumer to pay the merchant fee for them, is that someone start like this then the people follows? I think most of the shops that accept credit card must pay the merchant fee but they didn't ask the consumer to pay extra 2-3%.

For IT merchant, they actually can mark up the item's price by 2-3%, but not let the consumers feel not happy because they noticed there are some "hidden" fees on Credit Card payment.
*
Yah IT merchant usually ask for 2-3% when paying with CC. If IT merchant selling PC/Notebook at Recommended Retail Price, my suggestion is to go get it from Harvey Norman where they do not charge any surchage. Actually I just bought a Notebook for my son and charged it to AMEX without any surchage and even got RM100 discount for single swipe (i.e. no installment plan). But only the outlet at Ikano willling to give me the RM100 discount.

QUOTE(air @ Jul 27 2009, 02:29 PM)
Personally I think Charge card are more suitable for billing as they did not incur day-by-day interest charge(1.5% or 9% divide by 30 days)

MBB AMEX GOLD Credit is better when you purchase some electronics which above RM1500.
*
air ( I like your nickame), you won't be charged any interest for credit card if you pay in full before due date. Amex Gold Credit Card have one advantage over the charged card where the CC you'll get 5X MR for petrol and groceries.

not only Harvey Norman...Dell, also shouldn't be charging any interest when you buy a computer. I think only computer shops like those in Low Yat are charging the interests.

Actually they do offer some cash loan with lower interest rate, I did apply but due to some reason I cancelled it the next day after applied...

From their side, they claimed the officer responsible for my cancellation case been resigned and my cancellation delay by 2 months, I cant even cancel my broadband service for two months due to the credit limit locked my Citibank credit card(yes, they offer only 3k limit, and it is my first CC)

After that their manager take on this case and solved it for me(waived all the late charges + loan payment, basically reverse whole process involved with the cash loan)

About the unused broadband service, I have to vomit the money and clear it.

It looks like I missed some "fun" in TreatsFair, as I am still not back to M'sia yet. Btw, I heard MBB is not as efficient as anticipated. Likewise, the level of service of MBB is expected apparently.

was their service bad? I think it was alright, except for the card collection centre. Wayyy too small for something so big.

I remember the bag I got 2 years ago from applying my first credit card. It wasn't bad at all. I still can use it to work now biggrin.gif

the gifts this year is really nothing to look forward to. Only got a cheap lanyard from the Sony card and an average flask set (which I have totally no use for laugh.gif)

Actually I am quite happy with MBB (or should it be AMEX staff) at Treats Fair yesterday. I did not bring my AMEX charged card but my wife did bring her supp. With my wife supp card, the CS transferred all my charged card MR to my AMEX Gold CC for my convenience to redeem stuff.

Dear, I don't think it works that way anymore. Eg for my DA, I have both the Visa/Mst Plat and also the Infinite/World cards and they are both still valid and has been so for months now  hmm.gif
*
Yah, I can reconfirm for DA that seems to be the case, I just got my DA World MC and Infinite today. Called DA CS to enquire what is the status for my Plat MC and was told it is still valid. Last time upgraded from Gold to Plat DA, the gold was cancelled. Now got 3 DA cards i.e. 2 MC and 1 VI.

Yes. I can confirm that DELL wouldn't revert the merchant interest charge to you. I have personally ordered DELL computer online twice.

Any idea how much credit line one needs to have if applying using an existing credit card ? How about CIMB World Mastercard/CIMB VISA Infinite ? I tried to ask their staff at one of the CIMB Bank branches here and none of them have any clue. Please help smile.gif

What is your question, don't really understand credit line statement. For my DA World/Infinite I had to submit once again proof of income and fill in the application form.

Hmmm...I think your figure may apply to CIMB or DA only. The 100k CL doesn't apply to SCB VI, based on occurence. rclxub.gif

It means to apply for the card based on an existing card, so a minimum limit is required smile.gif

But to deviate slightly, but what sort of income docs do they asked for anyway since you are already their customer? Sorry for asking but my cards were sent directly without needing any docs or applications etc. There was just a package from Poslaju one day shocking.gif

i think only those who applied during thursday morning session can get it within 2 hrs

so for SCB VI, what's the CL required?

Does it means the CL? If so, the CL for my DA Plat is the lowest among my Plat CC (even lower than my RHB Evo).

I hardly use my DA except for pumping petrol or buying books at MPH. Long ago applied DA with Degree for Gold Card then apply to upgraded to Plat. Well in the VI/World Application Form it states income requirement so I submiited my EA form together with the application form. A week later they sent me the cards.

tgeoklin, I guess you are a valued client of CIMB/DA and me not biggrin.gif

Anyway, Ad in The Star today for CIMB/DA CC (for arsenal easy reference, see Section 2 Pg T5):

Offer at MPH
29/7 to 2/8 - 15% discount on books and RM5 voucher for every RM90 purchase.
29/7-31/7 - additional 5% discount on books.

Offer at MPH outlets at 1U, Subang Parade and MV
Spend RM200 get Thermos Snack Jar & Spend RM400 get Santa Barbara Overnight Bag.
