AMEX got the highest transaction charge & interest, why the preference?

it will be no different if you pay your credit card bill every month in full

You may try to request for the Gold Charge Card from Maybank but decision will be on them tongue.gif.
Amex CHARGE CARD account will not shown on your Maybank2u list because it was separated from credit card. Maybank2u will only show your banking and CREDIT CARD account, CHARGE CARD you will have to register it at www.americanexpress.com.my. You may directly register it online.  wink.gif

but i will pay the amount to maybank every month is it??

You can arrange payment to AMEX via M2U. That makes using the card convenient to pay I guess.

Don't be surprise, there is another product (I have mentioned it in V6) which gives 7% rebate for petrol purchases. It is a debit card product so I won't discuss it here.

That is exactly my practice.  biggrin.gif  Actually, you should do this for all your cards when you travel - you don't want to be stuck in a foreign country with no way to pay your bills.

Don't know my place Standard Chartered bank can apply this Saadiq debit card or not, or I must go TTDI to apply for it? hmm.gif

hsbc card not bad.  u can have a try.  but the bad thing is the fees charged quite expensive.

Their fee can waive one. I ask for waive for my late payment and interest charges if I forgot to pay it that month or bank in cheque on the due date but which will not clear before the due date:D

Are you sure that late payment charges can be waived? Or you mean annual fee... Just want to confirm...

It's late payment charges and interest charges.
I already called them up few times before.
But other than this few months, all my bills are fully settlement, I not sure whether they treat this as a record or not.

Not only HSBC can waive, Alliancebank can waive also.
Just tell them any excuse you think is acceptable. tongue.gif

Yes, they do,
Usually I call them 1-2 month before the annual fee charge. smile.gif

dannymc, ambank balance transfers are usually pretty shitty. You get the LCD TV but you have to carry your balance for 18-24 months without paying it off while being charged interest by the bank or something similar.

If you want a phone/LCD TV shop around outside, there are better deals there. Same thing with balance transfers, shop for the best one around. I've used Maybank, citibank, stanchart, their t&c will change depending on the time of year and the salesperson. I was contacted most recently by stanchart and citibank, but I'm not sure what their interest rates were.

If you have newly approved Credit Card then normally they give 1 time 0% interest with only small upfront fee.

Other than that, if you can settle your debt in 3 months time, I would suggest Bank Islam Platinum Mastercard. They offer 0% balance transfer with only RM6.20 upfront fee but you have to settle in 3 months. This is permanent feature of this card.

haha.. your post same like mine before..

don't take that ambank offer. its a disaster. they charge 8.99% X 2 / 24 months upfront

right now i prefer the public bank. at least they charge 5.00% upfront on the first month only (for 24 months repayment period)

anybody knows about affinbank balance transfer rate? its not stated on their website.

Yeah I'm also interested to know about Affin Bank Balance Transfer plan.

Anyone tried to combine 3 credit card into 1 balance transfer for Public Bank BT Plan? I called up their CS, the guy say max is 2 cc. But he said you may try but it's solely up to the management to decide. Anyone successfully combined 3 or more cards for 1 balance transfer?

The best Balance Transfer is still PB. 2nd to none so far

Whatever Ambank giving for its BL, I wont recommend to take it. its not worth it and another major point would be Ambank dont have Cash Deposit Machine. So you need to queue up during your lunch hour once every month to pay your bill. rclxub.gif

They no longer have any BL program. Their last BL would be 4% p/annum for 12 month.

PB BL might have the best BL around but there is one big (kinda huge actually) obstacle. Anyone having more than 4 credit card have not been known to apply succesfully from PB so far. (anyone manage to get it with even 3? I might be wrong)

It have been discussed in this thread before that PB cc is the hardest to apply. sweat.gif
