I don't know why you guys are so critical of Zeist. Well OK, he does not show too much tact, but his views are not particularly exotic.
being critical ?? there's always a reason behind something...

Just some pictures of this Russian to remove the attention from LYN H&f troll.

EDIT: While I was in the bathroom, I stretched and then I thought.

If someone can leg press 320KG....that's about sixteen, 45LBS plates loaded on the leg press machine.
Considering the 45 degree angle of the machine, that takes about 40% of the total weight away.

So if 320KG x 0.6....that'd still be about 192KG of weights that he's actually pressing. Take away the need for stabilizer muscles which is about 15% of an actual squat, you still would need to be able to squat 163.2KG to be able to leg press 320KG.

I did the math. You guys do the conclusion. These numbers are completely inconsistent.

Sounds like a muscle knot/myofascial trigger point or whatever people call it nowadays. We just call it a knot in the industry.
Effleurage, jostle and knead. Then rearrange fibers back. I could do it for you but you'd have to pay.

Russell Peters FTW! icon_rolleyes.gif

Harold and Kumar never get old. =x

On a side note, was experimenting in the kitchen earlier. =x Came up with this concoction for a simple snack. 3 scrambled eggs, a tin of tuna mixed together and cooked till the eggs are okay. Then I drizzled olive oil on it and mixed it up to get an even coating. Added in some HP sauce in the end cause it tasted a bit bland. Seriously not bad. thumbup.gif

Could there be a possiblity he leg press from day 1. and only did squats much later on?
The carry over of leg press to squats isnt too greant isnt it?

but even so. not sure if the gap would be this much.... blink.gif

How did you arrive at the 40% resistance reduction?

I read this in a book if I'm not mistaken. Weightlifting encyclopedia by Arthur Dreschler. They did some calculations and came with a conclusion that 40% of the resistance is reduced, and thus much more weight is needed to have 80% of what a back squat can do (stabilizer muscles use) Thus I remember a line that said if weightlifters ever needed to leg press, do single leg presses because of the amount of strain it puts on your spine.

Weightlifters squat what average men leg press. So imagine how much you need just to have the same muscle activity with the squats. This however, was not tested with EMG machines, so I don't know how accurate it is. I'll stay away from leg presses though.

We got a superstar in town don't we smile.gif.]

With regards to your leg press, the spine issue has always been quite a problem for many of us. I tried adjusting the seat , it actually helped a little. It also depends if you want to incorporate leg presses in your training. I actually do some presses on my squats day about 3 sets of 10-15 just to hype the quads a little after squatting and SLDL'ing. This is definitely a bbing movement but adding a little leg mass thus improving quad strength via leg presses wouldn't hurt smile.gif. (PS : I know you don't have that machine in Malacca biggrin.gif)

p/s : i increase my deadlift today..huish..very satisfied...my 1rpm now is 125kg ( only the weight )....must start buying some belt and strap cause i already lose my grip on the 4th rep of the 115kg...i search already...but can someone suggest a good strap??thinking of the ego nutritons strap...easier..just order and post...the Animal Lifting Straps
