Riq: Good to hear that you will be registering for GE30K. I won't have much training for it as most of the weekend starting after my Singapore Marathon is filled with races. But worry not as there are others around too. The Lunar Trainer+ trial will be on this Saturday (25 October), 5am again at Bukit Aman.

meatball88: Yeah. Had to walk that time as I was not used with the route. Now the route is our training grounds therefore will be better prepared. By the way, I didn't get your real name the other day.

Syd: Kebab? That's what I had after my Human Race. Good source of protein. Haha... Try going for 20K first. 30K maybe is too much for you at this time. Haha... ROFL (Rolling On Floor Laughing) on the picture.

Anyway, unveiling of the Runnerz Circle logo HERE.

lexan, Running is FUN yet challenging. Dont concentrate too much on the later but put your focus on the FUN part. Once you get over it, you can easily overcome the challenges during the race. so always look at it that way and by running with a group that will be even better. so start with a 20k as your base and slowly move up the chain, no hurry. u are laways welcome to train with us. and btw, if you are on the lookout for a new pair of trainer do let me know as I am selling Saucony in Malaysia.

d3vilzzzz: 20K all the way with 1 pitstop lasting generally about 3 minutes. Sometimes, I don't stop. 30K all the way with 2 pitstops lasting generally about 3 minutes each.

BIN: Terry Fox is a charity run. No prizes!

ccube: Nice slogan to the end of the week! Need it for the 30K tomorrow. icon_idea.gif

d3vilzzzz: Stop at petrol kiosk or 7-11 to refuel ourselves. When you feel good after a 5K run, it's time to increase to 6K and so on.

Phoenix : Support. Good vest around that price lo, if this is really the best, should worth.

d3vilzzzz: May be you could try the smart coach tool at www.runnersworld.com? Try this link : Smart Coach
Also i found a book provide very comprehensive info for beginner, with some guide from zero to 10k, then half, then full, then ultra, very basics but i find it very nice and friendly for beginner. The book is [The Marathon Runners's Handbook], by Bruce Fordyce. This book is available at Kinokuniya at KLCC (in the sport -> running section).

--TODAYS REPORT--
hey..din c any of u guys today..mebbe u all were there..but din recognise kua laugh.gif

todays run was great..the group ran the usual long distance again this time tongue.gif
i liked todays run as i started at the bk and then challenged me self to catch up with the leading pack (1 young uncle, 1 young aunty, 1 old uncle)tongue.gif
LOVE wub.gif the hills and all..but i do need to train harder..me nw following the technique one of the forumers(metalfreak) mentioned; smaller strides faster pace/ maintain rhythm

d3vilzzzz: There's the new Saucony ProGrid Jazz 12. I think it will be great for beginners like you and it's made very affordable at only RM230! Comes in 2 colours too! But first of all things, need to know your feet type.

No time frame. Increase when you feel comfortable. Always listen to your body. Don't try to be a hero. Pushing yourself is good, but don't over-push.

meatball88: If you are not looking at GPS or stride function, I will recommend Timex. Very reliable brand but I do not know the price. However, if you want to track your distance, Garmin will be good but be ready to fork out around RM1.6K! I might be selling my Polar RS800SD/G3 Heart Rate Monitor + GPS + Stride sensor though. Reason, not much usage.

yeah collected it from 1utama today...as its based on overseas sizes....my suggestion is to pick a size below your usual size. i usually take XL for my running vest and found that L for the terry fox t-shirt to be just nice.

although i find that last year punya design gempak lagi la....but this year is not that bad, colourful
