Yes! Done my 1st Half Marathon at Borneo International Marathon today.
Finished at 02:05:47, place 77th (total no of participants for Half Marathon around 300++)

Initially i planned to measure the exact distance by using by GPS, but forgot to activate the sensor when the race start. Quite noob, probally too excited for the run. tongue.gif Today i start with very slow run, a bit nervous cos worry if i will pancit half way. It was 01:01:30 when i reached 10k mark, it's too slow if i still want to have sub-2. Thus i try to speed up after 10k, but cos accelerate too much, side stich came to me. Bo bian, then have to reduce the speed, wait the stict gone then baru continue speeding. Run like mad for the final 3k, around 5mins/km, the excessive energy probally come from power-gel, i took 2, at 10km and 16km. rclxm9.gif

Although today missed my hi-case target of sub-2, but it's very nice to have complete the half marathon without pancit.

Hehe, my 1st medal from runnning:

meatball88 : Thx. I think you can do it la, now ur 12km at 67mins, quite good le. The organizing is quite well done, the web was setup nicely and quite frequent email update. There is a bit excessive of water station, can be seen anywhere. But some water station near finishing line was run out of cup when i passed thru. Hehe, probally becos they lack of experience since this is the 1st Borneo International Marathon. I believe the organizer are trying to do their best.

The total turn out around 1000++, 300++ for full, 300++ for Half, 400++ for 10k. If they do more publicity, i think next year will be more runners joining.

There's one thing standing between me and signing up for GE30k - the starting time.

Come on. 6am? I'd be finishing at 10am or so. Maybe will end up being a shish kebab

Phoenix : Support. Good vest around that price lo, if this is really the best, should worth.

d3vilzzzz: May be you could try the smart coach tool at www.runnersworld.com? Try this link : Smart Coach
Also i found a book provide very comprehensive info for beginner, with some guide from zero to 10k, then half, then full, then ultra, very basics but i find it very nice and friendly for beginner. The book is [The Marathon Runners's Handbook], by Bruce Fordyce. This book is available at Kinokuniya at KLCC (in the sport -> running section).

LOLZ, techfit, nice!
During the hash run yesterday (Borneo Ball Breaker), I saw most pro runner (fast 1, not main-main) wearing compression tube, some even whole body compression apparel. I think that really help to prevent muscle cramp when they do hash. But if koyak really rugi lo.

Ironrashid & sfax : Ur ppl really fast, if 9.95km is very hilly, damn, it's very difficult. For the Borneo Ball Breaker, I only managed to went to 8km points (after 8 hills), spent 2hr 30mins, but then muscle cramp and habis cerita. sad.gif

There should be some product to be applied to avoid blister or reduce the blister effect, but i forgot wat's the name oredi. Just looks like a stick.

Last time i got blister but just continue run, dun bother, the blister gone itself. I find combo of injinji + other dry fit sock is nice. Inner Injinji, outer i wear NB fit sock, very nice to run. No blister at all after i finish 20k run.

Yes, it's body glide. I bought it at the powerbar sales counter during Borneo International Marathon. This oso effective to prevent blister at nipples and groin area.

LOLZ, oredi got my bib for PG Marathon, D1012!

There are a lot of people waiting there by 10am for the counter openning! There is a lot of volunteers but obviously not properly organized, so the collection process a bit slow.

Check out this link for some pics on the collection counter! PG MARA
