The upstream speed not as suscribed although config correctly by GEM/OMCC. For this case need to manually config in the OLT itself. Below is the flow how GPON upstream normally work.

ONU Activation:
When an ONU is activated on a GPON network, the OLT sends PLOAM messages to the ONU to establish communication and discover the available T-CONTs.

Bandwidth Allocation:
Using PLOAM messages, the OLT assigns specific Alloc-IDs to different T-CONTs within the ONU, thereby defining which T-CONT will be used to carry specific user traffic.

Traffic Management:
Once the Alloc-IDs are assigned, the ONU sends upstream traffic based on the allocated bandwidth for each T-CONT, ensuring efficient utilization of the shared fiber.
*
Just to understand more, does this mean t-cont is Devicd specific where in my case will be my ONU t-cont must be made known to Telekom end in order for me to get my 500mbps full up speed?

What the heck did tm do to screw things up as this was working perfectly all the while.

Hi guys, i would like to ask about Unifi SWU 5.0. Does this kind of offer require us to perform "Service Termination SHOW" in front of customer service during the call?  sweat.gif

Can I just direct request the contract renewal from them by enjoying this offer....
*
I just walked to the Unifi Shop at Kepong and asked about SWU 5.0 smile.gif No need to show anything else.

for 500mbps RM90 will not get any bill waiver. TM are smart, since they want to counter astro price, they give you the same price of RM90 but they tarik that bill waiver. So in conclusion, if you got that 6 month waiver, the actual price is RM119 for 500mbps ((18monthx119)/24month = RM89) but they make it look like cheap2 of RM90 haha.

I don't know why Unifi like to change or fix something that end up making the user facing problem in using their website and app.

Previously, when I login my unifi account, they asked me to key in my Email and they will sent the OTP to my EMAIL.

Now they changed it and they send the OTP to my contact number. I've seen the last 4 digit contact number is correct but I haven't received the OTP number

Calling Customer service is like going to a war. Keep transfer my call here and there in order to solve my issue.

Not just that, their website is unreliable. There are times when I performed payment on their website, suddenly payment failed.

Nowadays I paid my bill using JomPay. They can't even make their own website reliable for their customers. So frustrated. doh.gif doh.gif

If my area has few other choices for home Internet, I will gladly to terminate Unifi. They never provide me any good experience since Streamyx.

From this thread and facebook group, i found two opportunities at the moment :

A. Free Speed Upgrade 2025 from 300Mbps & 500Mbps (RM129) to 800Mbps
Source 1
Source 2

B. Terminate/Transfer can get counter offer 500Mbps at RM90 perpetual

How many people here already managed to get this two offer?

are u by chance using wifi?

because unless ur wifi (wifi 6e or 7 with 1 Gbps or better throughput over wifi) is good, i wouldnt be surprised if u not get the full 1Gbps dl speed.

If u r using wired this is less likely to be the issue, and probably something else.
https://dongknows.com/wi-fi-range-expectations-vs-reality/
if ur using wifi, check the reviews what thoroughput u can expect from it. also try test using wired see if ur broadband improve. use a speed test website to check ur speed.

if ur testing wifi only, use a self hosted app like speedtest to see if wifi is ur issue.
for myself i am only using 100 mbps /50 mbps. already tested no issue. but the higher u go, the more bottlenecks u run across. its figuring which it is. ur wifi? the isp? bad ethernet cables? or something else.

don't know which i did, either the port reset, or router reset fixed it, though to get full dl speed i need to give steam high priority for it to use all cores to get it, if not its only using my E-cores which limit dl to around 400+ Mbps.

oh and i dont use Wifi

i found this for u. related?

Then your issue is very normal and its not related to the newest steam update or windows.

the faster your speed the more of your cpu is used (iirc capped at 4 threads) and steam requests that these threads be given "low priority" so it doesn't affect your other stuff.

But due to the architecture, low priority means E-Cores and Intel Thread Director is what handles this.

A solution would be to change affinity in task manager to make steam download via the p-cores or cap your speed in steam as to not hit the 100% usage on cores (leaving more to windows)

I have the same setup at the same speed but I dont have this issue of stutters or a slideshow as you are saying.

its a 2 year old post though, but it describes what you mentioned hmm.gif

Hi. Yes I sort of found a workaround. If and when I need to update or download games, I just disable the e-cores through task manager. To do this, you navigate to Steam.exe in the Details tab, right click, set affinity, and uncheck the last 4 cores.

I also made a steam exe that disables e-cores by default on steam boot by setting some target flags. I’m not home to look up what it is right now. However do note that disabling e-cores in this way may prevent some games from launching - I’ve only had issues with Armored Core VI and Elden Ring. Reenabling the e-cores fixes the issue.

Also do note that the games that are launched through steam take the properties of the Steam.exe affinity. Which is why it affected AC6 and Elden Ring.

At least with this method, you don’t have to mess with the Bios and/or use a 3rd party software.

my own solution, dont use intel cpu. my recent cpu purchases were all amd ryzen. less problems than intel sweat.gif

Maybe slightly out of topic.
Are we allowed to dismantle old TM copper cable that was used for previous streamyx and landline? Do we have to call TM to come and remove those cable? How about temporary removing the TM fibre cable due to house renovation, what is the proper process if any.

I removed them twice. Once when renovating my front yard. Another time when doing some small renovation in my living room.
They are just quick disconnect cable. At least that's how mine is.
I keep them in zip lock bag and seal them tight with rubber band while disconnected.
Use alcohol swab to clean both side before reconnecting.

Elite Team came for on site troubleshooting with the following results:

A. Asus gt-ax11000 as router and dlink as modem, only technician windows laptop can get full 500mbps download speed. All my devices like Apple TV wired to Asus router, iPhone 16 pm, and even technician hand held device wired to my Asus router, all can get max around 150mbps upload speed.

B. Reset dlink and install 3.0.6 latest firmware, setup as bridge mode, same result with the above.

C. Reset dlink and setup as combo, Asus gt-ax11000 setup as ap mode, all devices can get full upload speed.

D. Reset dlink and setup as modem, use another Asus router of mine which is xt8 setup as router, same result with A above.

E. Use skyworth setup as modem, and use either 1 of the Asus router, same result with A.

Conclusion is suspecting Asus router firmware bug?? Need to check with Asus.

So stress doing all these simulations doh.gif

Btw, can some one shared if you are on 1gbps plan and Telekom device setup as bridge and running own router, please let me know what Telekom device brand, and router model assuming your up speed is 500mbps. If possible pm me your Unifi id so I can get elite team to check and verify. Thank you so much.
