5.4.2025, I apply for termination on unifi page for my 500mbps+unifitv package with 6 month contract left (package price RM149 without SST). and just today received call from TM. I told that guy that the reason is because I dont want the TV pack and astro offered 500mbps for RM90 per month. Thus, that TM guy offer me this packages since he mentioned that I'm a old customer based on my account. Plan offered;

1. 100mbps = RM79 - 6 month free bill - 12 month free disney hotstar
2. 300mbos - RM99 - 6 month free bill - 6 month free disney but after 24 month contract, speed revert to 100mbps
3. 300mbos - RM119 - 6 month free bill - 6 month free disney and speed mantain even after 24 month contract.
4. 500mbps - RM139 - 6 month free bill - 6 month free disney and speed maintain after 24 month.

I opted for 100 mbps speed since I got my maxis package for 450gb data per month for my phone and another reason is that I can upgrade to higher speed anytime I want after that 6 month of free bill.

here you read https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...ost&p=111514935
tm also give RM90 for 500Mbps

mine 500Mbps RM119 so cheap but tm offer you RM139 look extra RM20 hike lol
*
I try asking for at least RM99 for 500mbps but not possible. The one she got also not mentioned whether she got free bill or not. for me probably because I'm still in contract for at least 6 month more. So getting changed to this package is a win-win situation for me. Why?

here why, my previous package is SWU 3.0 RM149 for 500mbps+tv+disney in which I got 6 month free bill which started on October 2023. So now I changed to SWU 5.0 RM79 100mbps+disney with 6 month free bill. So from October 2023 till October 2025 (2 year), I just paid for 1 year bill only with 1 year of free bill (6 month SWU3.0 + 6 month SWU 5.0).

Just now I just checked my package has changed from 500mbps pro upgrade to Unifi Home 100Mbps staywithUnifi 5.0 (Disney) Extra.

I went for SWU option 4. and somehow got 12 months of Free Disney+
*
For me, RM139 is still a tad expensive since I got another account with SWU 3.0 RM119 with 500mbps speed. Thats why I go for 100mbps for RM79 only. Since I'm at the lowest speed, anytime I can upgrade to a higher speed within contract period. Will wait when the price has drop for 500mbps or 800mbps.

unifi counter offer me 2 opt
1) 300mbps rm119 & free 6 mnths
2) 500mbps rm 90, no free month

both 24 mnths contract and price wont increase.. which one is better?
*
Of course 500mbps for RM90 because for 300mbps, even after deducting 6 month free bill, monthly for 24 month will be RM89.25 which is almost the same with the 500mbps offered to you but you only got 300mbps speed. But things you need to check is for that 500mbps RM90 package, after 24 month, bill and speed maintain at RM90 and 500mbps respectively? if yes, then this is the best offer you can take now.

good advise from different perspective but current 300mbps is more than enough even i do gaming, wfh & streaming.. the rm90 for 500mbps is forever, already confirm with him..
*
I'm from 500mbps, RM149 with tv pack. I also got offer for SWU 5.0 and I go for 100mbps RM79, 6 month free bill and 12 month free disney hotstar. Turns out, 100mbps is more than enough for me. also can save a lottt.

That RM90 500mbps is actually a good offer and 300mbps offer you got also come with free 6 month disneyhotstar. But during SWU 3.0. a lot of user got 500mbs package for only RM119 with free 6 month bill some more. If you asking me, better go for 500mbps RM90 or wait for other offer later on, probably SWU6.0?

joehann are you able to stream 4k videos from YT or other streaming apps while others at home briefing the internet/social media without any lagging? What about playing multi player games, any lagging?
*
so far no problem playing 4k videos from youtube, netflix and MAX on phone and android tv. for gaming I'm not sure since I only played mobile game such as mobile legend and so far no issue since the ping is low. So far I have not noticed any difference as compared to my previous speed of 500mbps. Probably because I'm not a heavy user and my monthly usage average at 400-500gb per month.

if we are not existing subscriber, just apply through the official website? The RM139 (Entertainment RM49.90+ 500Mbps RM90) plan?
Yes correct.

Can we cancel the Astro subscription immediately after they counter offer us?
You can't cancel immediately because there's 24 months contract once the Astro service is activated. If the service is not even activated, then no contract la...

Why not you try call Unifi customer service, pretend and tell them you want to terminate Unifi service because you want to switch over to Astro Fibre's 500Mbps RM90 plan as it is cheaper.
Do not start the conversation by proactively ask them things like "What offers do you have for me?".
You can create stories like you're facing "financial difficulties" if you want.

Let's say if they didn't offer you 500Mbps RM90, then just say something like "It's okay, I'll apply for Astro Fibre", then end the call.
Wait for 1-2 days, see whether anyone from TM calls you back and really offer you 500Mbps RM90 or not (probably their other teams would takeover your case? I dunno, just guessing).

If you or anyone tried this and really works, do let us know here.  biggrin.gif
Because it is easier than you apply Astro Fibre online, and somemore need to pay upfront payment of RM49.99*, and also perform eKYC there (upload IC all those), etc.

*RM49.99 is because of Astro One: Entertainment Pack, but it will offset on your upcoming Astro bill, if you really become Astro customer lah
No... The 500Mbps RM90 offer you see on Astro website, actually requires Astro TV subscription.

Astro no longer offers standalone Astro Fibre service anymore.
*
Tried this with 6 month contract remaining for my 500mbps account. But they dont offered me that 500mbps RM90 package and only offered all SWU5.0 package. I go for 100mbps - RM79, 12 month free disney and 6 month free bill. I can always upgrade speed later on after that 6 month free bill.

You downgraded while still under contract?
*
Yes, I applied for termination through Unifi Self Care, so this is considered counter offer from unifi. I also asked the representative about any penalties from the remaining contract. He confirmed that there wouldn’t be any penalties, as this falls under the SWU 5.0 offer.

Previously, I was on the SWU 3.0 package, 500Mbps with Aneka - RM149 and later switched to the SWU 5.0 package with 100Mbps. When I first signed up for SWU 3.0, I received a 6 month free bill. So, in total, I would get about a year of free bill from the start of the SWU 3.0 plan until the supposedly end of contract period in October 2025.

Yeah me too. I just try2 and the representative said that even though I still got 6 month remaining contract, I am their loyal customer and thus entitled for SWU 5.0. Since I'm looking for cheaper alternative, I just accepted it and within 2 days, my package changed in the unifi self care web.

how many months before my contract expiry, I should go to TMpoint to ask for a swu package?

normally around 1 to 2 month. But surely hard. the easiest way is to apply for termination on unifi self care and wait until they call you. If they cant give it, then say you want to cancel the termination and wait until your contract ended. Mine still 6 month contract left and still got SWU5.0 offer. for 500mbps RM90, I think you need to at least has your contract ended for them to offer you.

I got another unifi account with also 6 month contract left. That one with 500mbps for RM119. Thinking to apply termination and try asking for 500mbps for RM90. Btw I really got offer from astro for their wifi kencang 500mbps/RM90.

So technically meaning you are on 18th~19th month contract and have courage to terminate and gamble ?

I just ended my 6th months free billing (out of 24) SWU 4.0 - 300mbps (RM119/m) and think of test luck whether can get SWU 5.0 - 500mbps with Disney Plus Hostar by upgrading without changing price
*
not to say gamble since termination come after they call you. So if you dont want to terminate, then mention to the representative that call you if they say no promo and need to pay penalty. For your case, I don't think they will offer you that SWU5.0 package since you still way early on your contract period. They will just offer you the normal package for normal customer.

For my case, I think it depend on the unifi person that call you, some may offer you but some will not since you are still in your contract period. But for me, I already subscribing unifi for more than 10 years. So probably will get if you are a longtime user of unifi.

Do you aware that the speed will revert back to 100mbps after 24 month? below got people summarize for SWU5.0 package. In fact the one calling me also mentioned about this.

QUOTE(hsbb @ Apr 24 2025, 09:48 PM)
OK. So WU 5.0 is:

1. 100mbps = RM79 - 6 month free bill - 12 month free disney hotstar.

2. 300mbps - RM99 - 6 month free bill - 6 month free disney but after 24 month contract, speed revert to 100mbps.

3. 300mbps - RM119 - 6 month free bill - 6 month free disney and speed maintain after 24 month.

4. 500mbps - RM139 - 6 month free bill - 6 month free disney and speed maintain after 24 month.

yup. it will revert back to 100Mbps after 24months . but who cares. i can renew my contract in SWU 7.0 @ 2027 May right ?
*
Yea smart thinking there, I don't think about that when I switch to 100mbps RM79 from my 500mbps RM149 per month. But for me 100mbps is more than enough for a household of 2 adult with 2 kids below 10 years old for now. I can upgrade anytime if I think the speed is insufficient.

Bro, the waive 6 month also got? How do i apply? go to tm point and ask for SWU 5.0?
*
for 500mbps RM90 will not get any bill waiver. TM are smart, since they want to counter astro price, they give you the same price of RM90 but they tarik that bill waiver. So in conclusion, if you got that 6 month waiver, the actual price is RM119 for 500mbps ((18monthx119)/24month = RM89) but they make it look like cheap2 of RM90 haha.

My contract has ended and I request for termination, 1 week later, sales person call me and offer SWU5.0 of 500mbps/RM90 but I opted for 500mbps/RM159 but speed will be 1gbps for 2 year and 6 month free bill. But today I got email from TM stated that my package has changed to 500mbps/RM90 instead of 1gbps/RM159. My account number has also change with the new one started with number 7

I call TM and they lodged the report but the funny thing is, that CS mentioned that the package is correct but the one creating the order "lupa" to give free upgrade to 1gbps but the RM90 price is correct. sohai la for SWU5.0 1gbps package is RM159 and I penat explain to him but he still insist that the order is correct but they lupa give 1gbps upgrade.

Anyone has faced the same issue as me? and manage to ask TM to changes the package correctly to SWU5.0 500mbps with 1gbps speed for 2 years?

My account number remain the same. Package name changed to

"Unifi Home 500Mbps staywithUnifi 5.0 (6MW)(Disney)"

1Gb plan got 6 months waiver. The RM 90 plan don't have waiver. It will be bonus if they give 1Gb at RM90  biggrin.gif
*
That's the thing, my friend also the same, no change in the account number and and same package name. I dont think TM will be so generous to give 1gbps for RM90. It just that there is a miscommunication between the person register the order with the telemarketer than offered me the package.

When you change the package, do you also need to subscribe the postpaid for 3 month?

No, I didn’t go to TMpoint. Many who did were asked to subscribe to Unifi Mobile, and I’d rather avoid the hassle of having to cancel that later. So I chose to wait for the termination confirmation call instead (request termination via app). Did you request a callback through the chat?
*
Then your process is exactly the same as mine. I don’t get it why TM had to create a whole new account just to switch to the SWU 5.0 package — such a hassle to log in to the new unifi universe app. Now I have to check two different apps just to view my two accounts, lol.

Nope, TM just opened a report and told me to wait up to 7 days. Honestly, I’m thinking of reporting this to MCMC because TM has a reputation for not honoring their offers and coming up with ridiculous excuses later on.

If they say so then just proceed. Why argue?
It happens then you will be the cheapest 1gig in this forum.

Either you pay 159 when they correct it or you stay at 500meg for 90, you are the winner in every cases.

Your argument with them made their mind complicated. If you just proceed, they click click and it's done.
*
Because I know there’s no way they’d give 1gbps speed for RM90. There are only two known packages under SWU 5.0 — 500Mbps for RM90, and 500Mbps (with 2 years upgrade to 1Gbps) for RM159. So this is clearly a mistake on their end.

Another thing is, if I didn’t report it in the first place, they would’ve just proceeded with the 500Mbps/RM90 package, completely ignoring the fact that the telemarketer offered me the 500Mbps (2 years upgrade to 1Gbps)/RM159 package.

Most likely someone made a mistake and change yours to RM90 500Mbps plan. For my usage, 500Mbps is enough. I just wanted to try gigabit internet and if I ever get to experience 12 hours restoration promise (touch wood, no breakdown pls) . Only useful when downloading updates and files  laugh.gif
*
Yes, same here, my previous plan was also 500Mbps, and I wanted to try that 1gbps speed. Since TM is offering a 6 month bill waiver, it basically works out to the same as what I was paying before (RM119 for 500Mbps). Recently, the number of devices in my household has increased, so I feel that 500Mbps might not be sufficient anymore.

You are assuming too much. There are people on 500meg with rm79 package price.
I'm on 2gig with rm189.
Everything is just a mouse click away.

If he said they just forget to upgrade the speed, just say go ahead and upgrade it as you are promised.

There's no fixed price in TM. In fact there's no standard pricing at all. Everything is arbitrary in TM marketing. I thought people in this forum should know better.
*
I'm not assuming, this is based on my past experience. Four years ago, a telemarketer offered me a 300mbps plan for RM99, but later they disputed it and gave some nonsense excuse that they couldn’t honor the offer even with a report to MCMC.

Yes, there are people who manage to get a cheaper price for what they got, but not everyone is that lucky. TM can easily dispute it later on, and "IF" you’re lucky, sure you might get it. But for most of us, we’re not that fortunate.
