O.o.....

I would like to know your reasons......

When in UniFi I always think TIME is the holy grail. Finally got the subscription for almost a month, 100Mbps vs 100Mbps. TIME at night time speed will drop to 40 - 70 Mbps and varies greatly.

Try UniFi, most time you'll get 96-100Mbps. wink.gif

Still better in term of price.
But, for heavy downloader. They want optimum & stable speed. smile.gif

Btw, TIME more focus into luxury or richfag area first for now.

Yes it does but they do not require the use of your router and instead plug to your modem, which leaves you free to use any third party router you want.

Small inconvenience. But most important their international gateway not really superior than unifi.

But how about their international routing? Which one has the best internet routing with the lowest ping?

Further to this topic, while I only have 1 cat5e cable running from my store room where the modem is located to my living room TV cabinet where I install my TP-Link router, would deploying a pair of Cat5 cable splitter to create a "pair" out of the single Cat5 cable worked? 1 out of the pair of split cable to be used to connect the modem in store room to the TP-Link router in TV cabinet; the remaining split cable is used to loop back to the store room and connect to the upstairs Cat5e cable installed in the store room.  Workable?
*
That will work but you'll be limited to 100mbps ethernet when you split the cable. Also there may be problems with crosstalk when all 8 pairs are active which they will be when you use the internet upstairs.

My suggestion is to get a good router (no wifi, just router such as a Mikrotik RB750Gr3,) place it in the store room and connect both cables to it. Configure your existing TPLink as an AP. If you use HyppTV, you can even run both your Internet & HyppTV to the living room using one cable.

Why UniFi are so popular here despite Maxis is giving more value with cheaper price?
*
I almost switched to Maxis a few years back when they had 10mbps for RM128 but, at least for the last 2 years, UniFi has always been cheaper whenever I checked so I'm not sure where you saw that Maxis is cheaper. I was paying Unifi RM179 for 30mbps then 50mbps and now RM189 for 100mbps. Also the free calls and HyppTV. I don't subscribe to Astro so HyppTV is good for me. Nothing against Maxis, I've been using their "premium" mobile service for many years now.

As SilentVampire said, for some reason, their phone service requires you to plug the phone into the router instead of the BTU. This presents a small problem if you want to use your own router. You end up with 3 boxes, BTU, Maxis router just for the phone and your own router. The setup for Unifi is very straightforward, vlans 400, 500, 600 for VOIP, internet and IPTV respectively. I'm not sure but I've read that Maxis with Astro IPTV is even more convoluted.

What websites? Can share the link here for us to check if accessible via Unifi.

Quite a number of websites. Example lowyat net when i am going through thread by thread is ok but if i want to reply someone in the comment section will get the message "this page isn't working". Other websites like samsung malaysia and eurosports also will get this error when trying to view things there.

I prepared someone might call me an idiot  blush.gif , but you can try disable your IPv6 and visit the site again.
At least disable IPv6 solved this similar problem for me.

I also don't know why, and I will be very happy if someone could tell me the culprit.  hmm.gif

My primary PC at home was having this issue, while my second PC (also at home, under same network) did not.
My phone and family members' phone did not have this issue.

Example: All browser cannot display this site (as an example) -> http://www.mi.com/my/ from this PC if I enable IPv6.
Other device have no problem with it.
Disabling IPv6 and the problem is gone immediately.

No harm give it a try.  smile.gif

Hmm, no issues with those websites.. IMO, I don't think it's an ipv6 specific problem cuz ipv6 is working on my end (stock router with Aussie firmware) and since it's only a particular phone giving the issue. That be the culprit. You running an anti-virus or firewall capable software on the phone? Disable those first as they could be blocking those urls unintentionally. Had a similar issue but with just "mail.yahoo.com" on a home pc only, yahoo and other related pages worked, just the mail section. Turns out, it was Bitdefender's website filtering firewall that was blocking access to the site. Disabled that feature and page loads instantly.. Bitdefender later issued an update that fixed the bug.

It could be IPv6 bro as it is not well implemented for some people and for others it seem to be fine. He did mentioned eventually, see below, that it is not only for one phone.

IPv6 is designed to replace IPv4, as IPv4 addresses have run out now and there isn’t enough to go around. So, we are starting to transition to IPv6, albeit slowly, but in Malaysia, the implementation hasn’t been smooth and it hasn’t been a standard thing for everyon. For some people, IPv6 works fine but for others, it breaks their connection. See here for a more detailed explanation: https://www.webopedia.com/DidYouKnow/Intern...difference.html. Just read there to learn more.

I told you already bro, disable IPv6 on your router. Loginto your router and find a place where there is a setting for IPv6. If it is disabled, then, it could be something else, but start there first.

I agreed as SilentVampire suggested, you can do it in router, just temporary, if no different, then you can re-enable it without any harm.

Hi voncrane, that's why I said this issue so strange.
I even tried uninstall security software from my PC. laugh.gif
Don't get me wrong, I am not blaming IPv6, I am also curious to know why. hmm.gif
Only happened in certain device, and I believed my particular PC have something wrong, and too painful to reformat my PC to start fresh. tongue.gif

I know, only certain devices have this issue, I have spent a long and tedious time to figure this out.
Since I don't know the exact cause and since disabling my IPv6 works, so I just do it until I found out the root cause. smile.gif
