UniFi support & techs actually quite good. Fast and efficient.

Last Friday night my neighbours UniFi down. Modem no Link so I called 100 and made a report.

Saturday, it was up. TM called to see if still got problem so neighbour said all OK. Report closed. Later at night same problem came back.

Sunday morning was OK and then problem again at night so made a another report.

Monday, TM technician came in the afternoon to check the external cable to the ports at the tiang. Not sure what he did but after that problem solved. Neighbour happy and baked me a chocolate cake on Wednesday.

later got RM53 charge haha
*
No charge if external problem. Only charge if problem inside the house. No warranty since neighbour already out of contract. 100 mentioned that like 3 times during the call.

Charge or no charge, TM will let you know thru the service restoration form which you get a day or two after. Looks something this. All very professional and transparent.

Note: Tech that came was TM personnel, not contractor, if that makes a difference.

According to the online chat PIC they will also charge RM53 for technician visit as I request to change to a router that supports 50mbps.
They just changed the router for me yesterday, hopefully they wont charge me as well. tongue.gif

Unifi contractor came to change my HyppTV STB back when I was still in my first year of contract. It's an old STB with warranty renewed due to contract renewal. No RM53 charge.

PSA: Don't forget to claim your TMRewards points before it's gone for good. Deadline is 31/8.

500 points = RM5 towards your bill.

I never touch my TMRewards before this. Turns out I have 6600 points but 1800 already expired. Managed to claim RM45 off my bill with that.

I thought everyone has different expiry date?

I already redeemed RM 50 last month.
*
My bad, nvm my post. I was under the impression that they're doing away with TMRewards entirely. Last month they stopped the rewards catalog. I misunderstood their latest sms. Still can claim bill rebate and HyppTV movies.

My auntie's house got upgraded to 50mbps. Damansara Heights area. Still no luck for me.

Tested on iPhone 6s. (2.4Ghz N 20Mhz)

Most surprising thing about that speed is that she's still on her old DIR-615.

Hi

can anyone guide how to cancel unifi? already over contract

I mean like what to bring to TM? must be owner or representative possible?

THanks in advance
*
Walk in to TMPoint to cancel. I went to TM's TMPoint instead of authorised dealer. Not sure if that makes a difference. Read many times that you only need to return the modem. However when I cancelled for a friend, they said no need to return anything so now I have an extra BTU. A letter of authorisation from owner is necessary. I can't remember exactly but maybe bring along a copy of owner's IC.

Even if you have to return the modem, keep the PSU if they don't ask for it, it can be used for many other routers or devices.

What is the maximum amount of months I can suspend?

Suspend because of non-payment? Or you request to suspend?

I presume you want to suspend the service for a number of months and not pay the subscription for that duration, is that right? I believe TM doesn't do that.

Today they came and replaced that with, what I believe is the new TP-Link TL-WR1043ND (450mbps)
It has like a huge TM sticker on top of the router.
*
Are you sure it's TL-WR1043ND and not Archer C1200 or C5v2? What colour are its antennas?

QUOTE(JohnLai @ Aug 23 2017, 11:06 PM)
Hmm? I just noticed TPLINK AC1200 keeps on bombarding every connected devices at port 137.

Can't find a way to disable such behaviour. Any sifu can help?
*
Which router u using? C1200 or C5 v2/v1? They're both AC1200.

will a bad router cause me to get lower speeds? my 30mbps now getting this nowadays. restarting doesnt help at all.

called tm guy to come check but at the time of checking was 25mbps and he said its normal (wtf?? i always get 30)

he said maybe my router faulty already so need to change.
*
Never seen a malfunctioning router cause lower speeds. Usually they just stop working. What router are you using now?

What's the ping from your PC to the router? Or ping from 1 PC to another PC. Please test on wired only which I think you've said you already are.

Thanks for info but need a bit more...

What hypptv pack... aneka, ruby, jumbo...?

Any free land line calls oŕ all chargeable?
*
This is the package that many people have.
RM20 discount, no free calls, Aneka or Varnam package.

30mbps = 199-20 = RM179
50mbps = 249-20 = RM229

Aneka then got free upgrade to Ruby during Sep 2016 Mid-Autumn campaign.

When this ended, it went back to RM199 and RM249 with 600mins free calls.

And of course, this year 30-50 and 50-100mbps free upgrade.

Hi guys,

after upgrading to 100mbps last june, i have issue in surfing the internet. yes speedtest shown 100mbps down and 50mbps up.

- loading web page take ages
- always need to refresh web page
- it soo frequent to get "site can’t be reached", need to refresh

anyone facing same issue???
*
If Speedtest ok then should be no prob already. Problem on lan or wifi? First thing I can suggest is, if it's on, to turn off IPV6 and see if that helps.

Could it be a website problem?

My particular package should be eligible........
*
If I remember correctly, the TnC of the Thank You campaign was that you have to apply, which you did, and have your Unifi activated before Mar 1. Let me see if I can find the pdf.

Here it is:

Just chatted with them on live chat, and I asked them to send someone over to change the router as the one I was using (dir 615) is horrible performance wise, but they said I'd be charged RM53 if the problem is not on their side, wth?  vmad.gif  Those of you who've gotten the upgrade, did TM replace your routers for free?
*
I think all the people I know who got 30-50 free upgrade did not get a new router. So still using their old ones like DIR-615 or RG4332.

The DIR-615 doesn't get much love but it can handle 50mbps if there're not too many people on it.

Hi guys, we're planining to get Unifi BIZ 100 Mbps with Mikrotik router (Bandwidth Segregation/Divert 50 Mbps/25 Mbps/25 Mbps to Ligo AP's)

Any comments ? done b4?  cool2.gif  cool2.gif  vmad.gif
*
Good choice. No probs doing that. Why not use Mikrotik APs then you can have centralised management of the APs. If only 1 AP then nvm.
