Yup the default account they opened for me as my first payroll account

Why bother opening one with a higher requirement, unless you want the benefits (if any)
Especially for your first SG account

need a joint named acc with my wife; not holding any work pass.
just opened one in posb, opening 3K; min fall below <3K (still subject to approval)

Sure that's a good reason
But i doubt the original poster of the question is in that situation, being his first week in SG

On a side note, the 3k probably isn't going to be an issue if its the joint account
