We all hear all sorts of noises when driving this car laugh.gif

Perhaps it's the common rods under the bonnet, just move the clip to the center so they don't touch each other.

Hi

I bought preve turbo back in 2015....apart from minor QC problem (such as seat ngek ngek sound, broken door 'hanger'), one major issue still not rectified by 2 service center is the steering handling....they insisted that the handling is normal.... my problem with the steering is that, it doesnt feel nice ...nice it s not the accurate word, but the steering have very minor shaking even at lower speed...although its not fair to compare it with Electric Power Steering, but hydraulic power steering on Preve should not be much different in terms of feel...people always call it as the steering is 'feeling' the road kind of thing...its hard to describe....even going over small stones etc on uneven road, the steering shakes a little...I would expect there is some kind of absorption of sort....brothers here facing the same problem? not sure if it was me, but I drove many cars before...even Wira still feel better in terms of steering handling....

If going on uneven road or the tyres ride on stones or any imperfection, the steering will have to provide feedback. Although it won't be strong enough to break your thumb unlike 4x4.

Need help.

My car GPS map is playing up. It shows the last map on starting up. When I drove around, the map remained static.

How can I reset the program?

What else can I do?

Thanks.

Take out the GPS map SD card while your player is turnoff?

Proton recalls three models to fix cooler hoses
SHAH ALAM: Proton Holdings Bhd will recall almost 100,000 units of its Exora, Preve and Suprima models to fix the CFE oil cooler hoses starting Tuesday.

Its chief executive officer, Datuk Abdul Harith Abdullah, said these models faced problems of the oil cooler hoses, which would break down when the cars reach an average mileage of 40,000 kilometres (km), due to the degration of internal hose/tube material.

"We will call the owners and the priority will be given to the cars with mileage of 40,000 km and above. We hope to finish this in the next six months," he told reporters at the preview of the new Proton Perdana here on Tuesday. - Bernama

Does anyone know where is this "oil cooler hoses" in the engine compartment of the car? Is it this big hose as highlighted below?
user posted image

Not sure how the oil cooler hose will degrade. I suppose when they mentioned the hose will "degrade", the hose will break and show cracks? What is the effect when that happened? Engine sound louder? Car will lose power?

the old rubber hose due to oil temp and pressure very high and it starting degraded hence burst and engine oil leaks.

The hose in your picture is air intake hose to the turbo.

As per the previous guy which had pointed out, it is underneath the car.

once burst all your engine oil will leak. you will not be able to drive your car, need tow to your preferred SC. there are a few owners who have their hose burst on them again after replacement, as Drex had pointed out if i remembered correctly, incorrect use of torque when tightening the damn thing on a torque wrench or smtg.

i am going to 110000++ KM on my odometer and will have the SC check em out on my next service.

this is my last Proton ever.

Depends...i had to replace it last week( 92k km 2012 model), only small tiny leaks near the connecting joint of the hose, no noticeable lubricant level reduced when check at the deepstick but due to viral post in facebook and other motoring blog, i check underneath the engine (have to go under the ram) and saw the oil deposit. As i always speeding on the highway i ask my mechanic to replace it on my own afraid of having burst engine while travelling. I have ask a lot of "so called campro specialist workshop" why not change it to metal (i have seen volvo s40 metal hose) as we are living in tropical country or change the position of the water cooled oil cooler on another location, even i suggested to get rid of the oca.....no reliable answer i received.
Only now proton admit their mistake and their intention to change the hose to metal on a later date after the rubber hose recall process ended.
We are living in a warm tropical country, campro engine are hotter compare to toyota, hyundai (proton are sourcing the rubber hose from korean manufacture lol, since no burst episode in hyundai engine)or even hotter than volvo engine that is why beside having oca leaks we also had head cover gasket leaks !
The purpose of the oca is to stabilise the heat range of the lubricants when we start the engine so it cud flow into the turbine that is why it is water cooled and not air cooled. Do you think water from radiator is cooler than the outside air?.

I might be wrong, but there is less problem on BOT campro engine without Oil Cooler Assembly on our tropical country road.

I had enough, from cracked Air filter hose, Fuse box aircond relay problem, Stalled engine on the road and now the famous Och, and not forgeting the rattelling interior.....and precious time wasted. Period!

I should get 2nd hand Audi A4turbo or Peugeot 308 turbo instead for turbo ride or humble toyota and honda....

Who want to continue to service my loan?..no need to pay me a single cent....any taker (ada bran?)

this OCH recall was really done badly by proton.
i had a leak when i got my car (first batch, 2012). after several visits to the SC, it got fixed (something cap or hose problem, cant remember). until now no leaking. but when this news came out, naturally i am concerned (burst?!). i am driving everyday and already about 75k km. so i called the SC.
SC told me "kita tak tau lagi samaada kereta encik terlibat. belum dapat senarai chassis". WTF? u announce recall and dont know affected vehicles? "kita akan check dan tukar kalau perlu. kalau ok kita takyah tukar". ask about my car already nearly 4 years, is it cover by warranty? cos i always service at SC. "itu tak pasti. kena dapat senarai dulu. try call balik isnin depan."
no wonder their CEO also said their SC and services suck.
