If i am not mistaken, there are 4 modes for Preve Premium(not sure for Executive Manual/CVT).

1. Mist
2. Intermittent  <--- Normal if use this mode. It will follow based on you car speed.
3. Off
4. Slow
5. Fast

Thanks.

Same. My preve is executive CVT. It has same modes as you described.
However, at mode #Slow and also #Fast, it will automatically switch to #intermittent when my car stops at junctions. And I cannot see the road because it is raining! What the heck??? Please tell me if this can be disabled by SC or any sifu? Thanks

Yes, but anyone knows about non-sensor wiper modes for preve?
I wish to disable this mode. It is not safe to use.

last time don't have this feature, ppl admire those expensive/continental car for this kind of "exclusive" feature.
now give you this feature, some ppl will complain "not safe" to use. in fact i dunno got this feature until saw somebody praise of this auto sensing wiper feature dunno from iriz or suprima forum weeks ago. doh.gif

I cannot tell whether you are attacking me personally when you say "proton gave you this feature". I'm a practical person. I dont like pretending to be richer than I really am. I buy a car I can afford just to use daily. And right now I'm asking other Preve owners to see if this feature can be disabled? I cannot find it in the user manual. I'm not exagerating when I say this is not safe. Was at junctions and the wiper stopped and automatically goes to intermittent. I cant see cars ahead of me at all. Does expensive continental cars behave this way? not sure, I'm not rich person to drive expensive cars. Perhaps someone can share some light. Thanks

anyone experience power steering fluid leak? my car will turn 1 year old this April but last week started to notice some noise in front whenever I turn the steering wheel. It got worse until I check the hood and saw the level is way below minimum level. i do not pay attention on my parking area but when i check it, there's indeed a leak. i think the car is too young to have this type of issue.

happpened to my car b4. first visit to sc, they tighten the nuts only. second visit, the refill power steering oil for free and recheck for any leaks. by now they said they will order a new hose for the fluid system. third time went, walla, they change the hose and clean up the engine bay. no more leaks until today.

Some pieces of broken soft sponge/foam from center air-cond vent. I found some old threads discussing about it, but no details or how serious of it. My next service is 1,000km more, can I still wait, or some broken parts inside?

There are one "bigger" bar of sponge stuck inside, cannot be seen clearly in the photo cause too dark.

This car is way much more problems that I had expected...

Today I send my car to sc to repair the ‘tek tek’ sound on the shock absorber for the 3 times, they will change a part and hopefully this very annoying sound can be solved. The sound came whenever I press the break, and start to accelerate, turn the steering wheel to left or right while parking, or hit the road bumps… tik tak tik tak sounds everywhere.. like an old car.. in fact my car is just 11 mths old…

Besides that, sounds also coming from rear seats, front panel plastics, cushions… before I buy the car, my friend told me preve is ‘solid’.. for those that think of buying this car.. u better have good patience..

There are many settings when you push the wiper stalk up and down. Just select one that is not sensor-based and the wiper will work without stopping. The only thing that you need to worry about is the wiper is going too fast, moving violently on the windscreen as if it is a thunder storm or something.

When it is raining, I will usually adjust the wiper stalk as I find the Automatic setting which is based on the sensor usually goes bonkers. In all situations, the wiper will usually move very rapidly, actually violently on the windscreen even though the rain is not heavy. Hence, I will always move the wiper stalk to the fixed setting.

I have seen these small bits and pieces of sponges in my car once when I was cleaning the car's carpet. The broken pieces of sponges were not actually inside the air-cond vents but beneath the driver's seat. At first I thought the sponges came from the fabric seats, suspecting the seats had a tear and the sponges leaked out or something. But after second thought, the bits and pieces of sponges may have come out from the air-cond vents in my car. If not the main vents at the top, maybe the vents located beneath, near the legs. I didn't bother to pursue to the matter further as it is a small problem to me. After I cleaned up the sponge beneath the seat, I don't see anymore sponges. There are more "problems" with my car that I need to get them sorted out soon in my next appointment.

In your case, you should highlight your case and let them check and fix the problem.

Oh yeah. The older the car gets, the more sound that is popping up here and there inside the car. In summary the NVH of the car is deteriorating with every year. Currently the driver's seat is producing the "old mattress" squeaking spring sound everytime the body rubs against the back seat. I have had the seat changed 2 times and everytime the sound came back. In my next appointment I will lodge this complaint to have the seat changed for the final 3rd time, as this would likely be the last time they can entertain a seat replacement under the 3-year warranty as my car will turn 3 years old this coming August.

I am sorry to hear about the problems in your car when it is less than 1 year old. It is unavoidable that "tak tak" or "tik tik" sound comes popping up in any car with age due to wear and tear, not only the Proton. But the frequency of the sound that is coming up in the car is more prominent, given it is a Proton car.

Actually the Preve Turbo is a solid car in terms of safety and performance. A stable and solid car when it is on the highway. It is only when it comes to quality in the parts and fittings (selection of materials), QAQC fittings and refinement of the car in terms of vibration and harshness, it is way down when compared to the imported Japanese and continental models. But then, for the price of less than RM70k, that is sort of expected for a car at this price range.

I thought the Proton Saga is worse than the Preve. The last time I was at a service centre, a Saga owner was there to complain on the quality of the door handles where it breaks easily. It appears that this is a common problem of the Saga/BLM.

Ya maybe.. on the highway preve is solid, but when u belok here belok there on a small and bumpy roads, fuyoh.. ‘ki li ko lok ki li ko lok’ sounds all the way…

Imported cars are more expensive then proton are because of higher tax, comparing the specs of the lower range vios/city, actually there are similar to saga only… but their quality are far more better… don’t say I only like to complaint about proton, our national car… I gave them a chance by purchased a preve, and this is what they give me…

personal experience, any new cars 100k and below suffers from this. my sister's city also same. 1 year old, got clicking noise inside car cabin, but only when cornering, or braking. luckily driving constantly on highway no sound else she will complaint. as for myself, the preve, so far still ok. only the seat got click click sound like some rotan furniture. touch-wood other sound tak ada.

As expected, sc ppl called me and told me they still cant solve the shock absorber sound… this is my 3rd time send my car to sc for this problems.

1st time, they done nothing
2nd time, they checked for 3 days and told me a part need to change
3rd time, part changed but problem remain… asked me to go after cny… I asked them to check carefully and tell me what are u going to do after cny and not after cny u all jz re-check everything and the process go round and round and never ending…

Car problem is one problem, and add with attitude of the sc ppl towards the problem… and this is what I get, total frustration!
