Today, preve save my life

I was driving on north-south highway (E2),
Cruising around 140-160kmh, following another Preve Turbo
Suddenly, i saw a proton saga SV on middle lane was in doubt whether to switch lane or not.. So i slow a down a bit, but the saga maintain on middle, so i speed up
As the last minute, i was driving 160kmh at the time, out of sudden the Saga just swerved into my lane without any signal, immediately i applied emergency brake and literally my front bumper was a centimeters close of the hitting the saga rear bumper,
Thanks gods there was no car behind me and all the disc brakes applied and i can hear my tyre screeching as i stop from 160kmh to 0kmh.
That saga really A-Hole

P.S.. i didnt know preve have emergency stop signal
Hehehehehe

Ok thanks for the information.

Proton cars are cheap and value for money when compared to equivalent Japanese and imported cars. But quality left much to be desired. A lot of rattling sound in the car now as I sat at the rear passenger seat today. I didn't hear all the rattling sound from the back portion of the car too clearly when I was driving the car previously.

QUOTE(metaled @ Feb 18 2016, 05:39 PM)
The hose in your picture is air intake hose to the turbo.

As per the previous guy which had pointed out, it is underneath the car.

once burst all your engine oil will leak. you will not be able to drive your car, need tow to your preferred SC. there are a few owners who have their hose burst on them again after replacement, as Drex had pointed out if i remembered correctly, incorrect use of torque when tightening the damn thing on a torque wrench or smtg.

i am going to 110000++ KM on my odometer and will have the SC check em out on my next service.

this is my last Proton ever.

Yes, the brakes of the Preve Turbo somehow is pretty stellar - good. Short braking distance during emergency situations. It's not only the brakes but the ABS which works in tandem with hard braking. You will surely "hear" the ABS during emergency braking. Not screeching sound which is from the tyres but a "klonk klonk klonk" sound.

But 160 to 0 km/h on the North-South highway? You mean you applied brakes to your car and it stopped right along the highway? Not moving at all?

i didnt hear klonk klonk though or maybe because my music was loud that time..., but i do heard, screeechhhhhhh ettttttttt... all four tyres screechhhh..

yea, it stop on the highway with emergency signal turn on plus the Sage didn't speed up after switch into my lane, the sage move when i completely stop like 0kmh.. in was in the morning, that time there was no car behind me like literally no car..

i'm quite impressed with preve though, able to stop within short distance from 160Kmh- 0Kmh,

i used to drive myvi (2012 model), during emergency braking even from 140kmh to 0 still take longer distance to stop.

Not sure when will ABS kick in, whether it is during high speed braking or low speed braking. IF it is high speed braking from 160 km/h, then maybe the klonk klonk klonk sound does not come up as the ABS may not be triggered at those speeds. IN my case, it is braking at around 60 - 70 km/h and the sound from the ABS working is quite prominent.

Does anyone know where is this "oil cooler hoses" in the engine compartment of the car? Is it this big hose as highlighted below?

Put on your seatbelt. That's the only way to deactivate the alarm.

Under the seat, there is wiring harness. Make sure it is still connected.

Thanks. I thought it's the big hose as mentioned as the service centre detected a tear in the hose in my car and replaced it for me.

Just bring the car to the service centre to have the problem fixed. Looks like the electronics has gone cuckoo.

My cfe got the same issue, and it's already rectified.
Just bring the car to the proton service center to have the problem fixed. it's under warranty, no need to pay.

one of the common problem is the faulty brake switch .. try ask your SC to check on that
