Hi sifu..can someone show how to remove the front grill? already try and almost break the pin..only successful to remove the pin  on the top..

You cannot remove the front grill alone, you have to dismantle the front bumper than you have access to the grill..

Does anyone know if the Preve Turbo shares the same pipe as this one in the Suprima? Any idea what is this pipe?

based on the squarish silver thing it is a water coolant hose for oil temprature. but based on the leaking it is lubrication leaks and i dont think it came from that hose must be from some where else..
if i could recal,l one of our preveian have the same kind of oil leaks problem..

Since suprima engine same as exora bold and preve cfe yes it share the same thing....

talking about engine leaking, today i dismantle my throttle body to be cleaned by myself since lately every morning i have to crank the engine twice only it will start. First crank it will begin with low rpm and dies off only on the second attempt then only it stay.
While dismantling the head plastic cover i found out that the rocker/valve cover gasket are leaking as in the pic attached.
And if i am not mistaken there is also some leaks on the engine head
What worrying me is even i didnt notice any loss of lubricant, the leaks could cause the timing belt slipping on the long run and i just gone through major service including of timing belt change couple of months ago.
BTW my cfe is 2012 model with 86K+ millage with regular (moderate speeding) driving mode.

Now i let my engine cover off to monitor the leak...

this is on valve/rocker cover (sorry the pic is upside down)

that is some peek under the turbo shield (engine head)

its my throttle body cleaned without proper cleaner....heeee

no noticeable minor oil leak prior to that? it just straightaway burst while driving?
*
Depends...i had to replace it last week( 92k km 2012 model), only small tiny leaks near the connecting joint of the hose, no noticeable lubricant level reduced when check at the deepstick but due to viral post in facebook and other motoring blog, i check underneath the engine (have to go under the ram) and saw the oil deposit. As i always speeding on the highway i ask my mechanic to replace it on my own afraid of having burst engine while travelling. I have ask a lot of "so called campro specialist workshop" why not change it to metal (i have seen volvo s40 metal hose) as we are living in tropical country or change the position of the water cooled oil cooler on another location, even i suggested to get rid of the oca.....no reliable answer i received.
Only now proton admit their mistake and their intention to change the hose to metal on a later date after the rubber hose recall process ended.
We are living in a warm tropical country, campro engine are hotter compare to toyota, hyundai (proton are sourcing the rubber hose from korean manufacture lol, since no burst episode in hyundai engine)or even hotter than volvo engine that is why beside having oca leaks we also had head cover gasket leaks !
The purpose of the oca is to stabilise the heat range of the lubricants when we start the engine so it cud flow into the turbine that is why it is water cooled and not air cooled. Do you think water from radiator is cooler than the outside air?.

I might be wrong, but there is less problem on BOT campro engine without Oil Cooler Assembly on our tropical country road.

I had enough, from cracked Air filter hose, Fuse box aircond relay problem, Stalled engine on the road and now the famous Och, and not forgeting the rattelling interior.....and precious time wasted. Period!

I should get 2nd hand Audi A4turbo or Peugeot 308 turbo instead for turbo ride or humble toyota and honda....

Who want to continue to service my loan?..no need to pay me a single cent....any taker (ada bran?)

My Preve (3 years 3 months) air-con just died. SC said the junction box is faulty, unable to send current to the compressor. Cost RM 700+ for the junction box and it is a part that is rarely spoil, so need to wait few days to weeks for the parts.

Anyone had this problem? Junction box is not covered under 5 years warranty?

Any possible write in to COSE to claim the parts?

if you search my post and another forumer by the name of lowyatlcd we have the same problem previously .Its the micro aircond/fan 1 relay that giving the problem in the fuse box. A well known problem to proton preve beside cfe cooler hose. Been viral in preve facebook and the answer from proton is to off the aircond before we start the engine(lol)
There is this guy by the name of Ritz who are well verse with repairing the fuse box if you want to save rm700++(6 mnth warranty from proton)
https://www.facebook.com/tunerz/photos/a.16...?type=3&theater.

Btw i managed to repaired mine at my own..i just replace the fan 1 relay, but result may vary as lowyatlcd after changed the relay the aircond still not working and he replace the new fuse box from proton.

Did Proton settle fuse box problem,or still advise aircond off before start engine.

Another design mistake....... sad.gif

My lady Polo hb aircond started 5-6 seconds after start engine.
*
It shud be like that...that is why the aircond are control by the ecu not directly from aircond switch itself like the old car/system.
They trying to follow modern technology with bcm and such...but what a failure..!!1

Unless u are driving old car...never bother to off the aircond before you start the engine. Then what the use electronic controller unit...just to feed fuel and air...? old proton injection can laa

Sorry, I meant I don't even know how to remove the HU from the front panel. Ha.

Will check youtube for some examples.

P/S Found this on changing a CD player. Good and interesting. Panel removal should be similar. Looks rather simple now. For Preve, which is the first panel part to remove?

remove center panel (silver gear console - u shape) slowly..using small flat screw driver...careful with the plastic clips as it might fall down to gear console or it might breaks. then pull the center console (wood grain) and you can access the the hu unit. As im doing it long time ago, im not sure whether the right and left aircond panel blocking the center panel. If it is blocking you have to remove both of it as above.(use flat panel screw driver near the door and 2 screws under the meter panel). Careful with the clips some metal and some plastics.

There is some diagram on the internet (for preve hu) to tap the reverse /power up the camera (using small size clip eg old computer cd/sound card wire) just pnp no extra wire tapping required. Connect the camera rca cable to the available rca port and u are done.

Guys,

Quick question. Anyone got change the oil hose outside instead of going to SC? Been reading a few saying the one from SC not that good. But cant find anyone sharing any workshop/garage out there using diff material.

Anyone here can share their experience?
*
I have change the hose outside sc when sc out of stock year ago. Bought the hose at row of spare parts shop opposite PJ police station. RM 180 one piece brand mitsubishi (dont kno real or not) its softer even with cloth type wraps. With fees of Rm 60 installed it at nearby workshop after 3 months leaks at the joint. Go to dealer sc in batu 3 shah alam it cost me rm 20 plus rm 10 installation with warranty...until now (touchwood) still ok.

Hi all,

My Preve's air-con is having intermittent problem.  Sometimes, the compressor and high speed fan operation cannot activate and hence not cold, despite setting to the minimum temperature of 20°C.

Sent to the normal PROTON dealer SC last week.  Suspecting the common complaint about the compressor relay problem, they tried replacing with 2 sets of fuse boxes but to no avail.  They have also checked the air-con gas and found to be sufficient, i.e. no gas leakage.

Has anyone encountered this problem before?  I'll be sending it to PROTON EDAR this Wednesday for further diagnosis and repair.  I now suspect it to be either a faulty temperature sensor or a faulty thermostat in the fan coil unit.  Is this likely?
*
Do they check the blower resistor under the glove box?. 2nd time I encounter problem with my aircond, just like what i thought the fusebox issue, now its the blower transistor. As temprature sensor is very simple mechanical system using mecury bulb (on off) they can check the continuity by bypassing it with jumper.

My preve is 6 years this year. After going normal wear and tear just like one of our member here going thru is get ready to replace out of the ordinary parts.

1. Changing head cover gasket twice. (I cursed the stupid person who came with the material/design.)
2. Flywheel Oil Seal. (It cost merely +- RM30 but with expensive installation fee as it required to lift the engine and transmission and dismantling related items nearby - my 2nd aircond problem came after this- blur)
3. Differential Oil Seal (driveshaft oil seal) Rm 28 yet it may cost us thousand if we ignored it (Cvt leaks)
4. The 40k km change interval of oil cooler host.

All this due to bad design of heat dessipation in the engine.!
