hye... yesterday after long drive from kl-penang..i have heard a whistling sound from engine bay...futher inspection the whistling sound come from cvt gb area..is it sign for problem? should i refer to sc?

Just got my car back and it is confirmed that the transmission is replaced with a new one. Major parts replaced are as follows:-

T/M Assy Replacement (RM11,019.94)
Flywheel - Direct damper - DDF (RM1,012.71)

Other minor parts are the Assy CVT3 transmission, Tutela transmission CVT AT and bolts for dual damper flywheel.

The invoice states CVT3+. I thought all gearboxes are the same?

Part number is PW812428, Assy, CVT3 Transmission.

besides all the specs listed down in the brochure.. what are the major differences between Preve Exec n Preve Premium? In terms of handling, performance, FC, maintenance, etc.

Yeah thinking of going down this color path, but I guess what I'm really looking into is the Preve Sapphire color, that metallic dark grey is just awesome on Preve.

What color is that? Is that a semi matte gray?

was reading the first page and noticed there were mentioned that gearbox have illumination. mine doesnt have light. is it only for premium only or all class have the light?

If I put at gear N or P.  I just hard press the petrol paddle on max, what I noticed was the rpm meter just go up to max ~3.5.  May I know is this just normal? Thx in advance. Btw I had nvr tried before during drive mode :-)

Does anyone here experience this phenomenon. Whenever you start your engine, the hazard lights come on automatically. I then need to press the hazard light button to switch the hazard lights off.

It does not happen every time I switch on the engine. Maybe once in every 5 times.

Didn't know we have to press the start button 3 times. Thanks for the information. Will try pressing the button 2 times first, before stepping on the brake pedal and pressing the start button 1 final time to start the engine. Hopefully the hazard lights will not come on when I use this method.

Question:

Under normal circumstances, when we arm/lock any car while any door is ajar, there would be a reminder like the horn blaring to bring our attention to the said matter. The same applies to Preve EXCEPT if the ajar door happens to be any of the 2 front ones. The SC said that's the way it is for Preve. Is that true? Other Preve owners' feedback is very much appreciated. Its failure to send out such reminder is not that helpful as sometimes, we may be at quite a distance from our car when we want to be sure that we've locked it.

Does anyone here experience an audible "wooo" sound when cruising at around 50 km/h? When accelerating the car with the speed around 50 to 60 km/h, try lifting your foot from the accelerator and let the car glide from 60 km/h to 50 km/h on its own. When the car slows down and the speed reached 52 km/h, an audible "wooo" sound from the car is heard.

Seems like this "woooo" sound is getting louder by the months. Mileage of the car is close to 40,000km now.

Hi guys.. currently I'm considering to buy 2nd hand Preve (thinking of Persona too but it already close to 9 years old technology). Already going thru last 10++ pages of this thread as well as Preve owner club in FB + review in blogs. Questions in my mind right now :

1. Should I going for Exec or CFE way? Read many problems on CFE (broken oil hose cooler, turbo 'kiok', etc), but is the IAFM+ too under power for heavy-body Preve? I used to drive dad's Camry 2.0 & older CRV 2.0, both really bad in acceleration esp from zero.

2. How about the FC for both variant? FYI my daily use is about 85% city driving + 15% highway, stuck in jam about 30 mins daily. Giving up driving manual car in town nowadays.

Problem is I already did balancing outside, and even at Lim tayar, still the same. I have checked with some of them and they say they do not guarantee that redoing balancing will eliminate the high speed vibrating steering.

Some of the prevoc members recommend me to go to autopex shah alam to do on wheel balancing, I will probably go and have a look.

That's the thing, I also heard about that, but apparently many preve owners at Prevoc did it and they didn't seems to complain anything about it, so I am also 50/50 now.
