If you plan majority of your spending on weekends, you'll gain more using Amex than Visa/MC.

Amex's 5X TPs is equivalent to 1.25% (in TPs). Effectively, Amex in weekends give you 5% in cashback and 1.25% in TPs, that's 6.25% worth of gain each month.

But the simplest and fastest method to get the Maybankard 2 Cards is by visiting a Maybankard Centre at 1U, The Gardens or KLCC where your application will be process within few hours (depends on situation). Click here to read Gen-X article on it. Please note, it is Maybankard Centre and NOT Maybank Branch.

You can check your Maybankard 2 Cards transactions online with Maybank2U.com
If you do not have a Current or Savings Account with Maybank but you want a Maybank2U online account to check your Maybankard 2 Cards transactions, you need to go to a Maybank branch to get it done. Better that you inform the officer that you want the Maybankard 2 Visa or MasterCard as the main account and add your Maybankard 2 Amex to it. However if you want your Maybankard 2 Amex to be the main card for the account, when you first log in to register username add 0 to the 15 digits of your Amex card. Maybank2U for Maybank Credit Cards - You Don't Need To Have A Maybank Current or Savings Account.

However, if you are new to credit cards, I strongly recommend that you DO NOT opt for the paperless option (i.e. receive our monthly statements online) until you familiarize yourself with Statement Balance, Outstanding Balance, Minimum Payment and Payment Due Date.

Maybankard 2 Cards FAQ:

1. Must read - GST information
2. This is a 2 cards combo - AMEX together with master/visa, you CANNOT cancel the master/visa and activate the AMEX alone.
3. The rebate is calculated according to the CALENDER month and not per your monthly statement cycle.
4. The rebate is usually credited to the AMEX card on the 1st or 2nd of the month.
5. No more GST for Maybankard 2 Cards (both principal and supplements) starting from 01 April 2015.
6. If you receive the cards through postage, you can activate it online through M2U (though some reported activation is not required). If you get your cards from the bank/credit card center counter, you do not need to activate it.
7. You do not need to post back the acknowledgment copy when you receive the card by post/courier.
8. The weekend rebate capped of RM50/month for the Maybankard 2 Amex is shared between the Principal and Supp cards.
9. If your M2U shows that you have a Maybankard 2 Cards Account, congratulations, it means you 'll be getting the cards soon. Call Customer Service if you do not want the cards or call them anyway to confirm.
10. You don't need to have a Savings Accounts or other Banking Accounts to have a M2U account for your MBB 2 Cards. You need to go to the branch to sign up for M2U to view your transactions online. Some branches are known to be unable to link both cards into a single M2U account.
11. If you cannot swipe the card at the merchant, call Customer Service number behind the card.
12. Fastest way to get the Maybankard 2 Cards is go and apply at MBB Card Centre at 1U or KLCC where they are supposed to process your application within an hour (Monday to Friday).
13. The 5% cash back on weekends (Saturdays and Sundays) for MBB 2 AMEX includes Petrol and is additional to the 5X Treats Points. However it is reported that some online transactions on weekends DO NOT earn the 5% cash back as it depends on the timing the merchant processes the transaction.
14. Maybank Platinum credit cards including MBB 2 does not grant free access to KLIA or LCCT Plaza Premium Lounge.
15. You earn 1x TP everyday with your Maybankard 2 Visa or MasterCard and including Petrol. Good for stations that does not accept AMEX.
16. If you link your paypal account to MBB 2 AMEX, it will take 2-3 days before it is shown in M2U.
17. This is what is mentioned behind our Maybankard Statement - Foreign Charges converted by AMEX apply a coversion factor of 2.5% to the converted amount plus 0.5% administration cost imposed by Maybank.
18. The Maybankard 2 AMEX earns you 1x TP for every RM charged to your card by default. The rest of the TP is recorded as 4x bonus TP (written as MAYBANKARD 2 AMEX 4X BONUS in your statement), making it a total of 5x TP for all charges made to your MBB2 AMEX.
19. To earn the 5% cash back, TRANSACTION DATE shown in M2U or statement must be on weekend (Sat/Sun), posting date does not matter.
20. The 5% Cash Back payout MONTH is subjected to POSTING DATE not transaction date. You will always get the cash back on the 1st day of the following month straight after the POSTING DATE. Here's a detail example by ronnie

Rule of thumb:
PAYPAL + Amex + RM = no go
PAYPAL + Amex + foreign currency = good to go
PAYPAL + Visa/Master + RM/foreign currency = good to go

For PAYPAL with MBB 2 AMEX to earn 5% cash back (Non RM Transaction Only).

Of late, every time I use PayPal to pay PayPal merchant, the payment wouldn't go thru. I need to call maybank Amex CS to "unbarred" payment from 1 day up to maximum 1 month in order to proceed with the payment. I asked why need to call CS to make a PayPal payment even though the amount is less than usd10, CS replied this is new security measure.
You guys faced this situation before ?

yeah, i called maybank and they said the same thing, and they say especially for paypal transaction becos paypal very easy kena fraud.

For Booking Your Hotel Room via Agoda.com with Maybankard Visa/MasterCard versus MBB 2 AMEX

Confirmed by nuodi on 09/01/2014 and cempedaklife on 22/06/2014: Additional 5% usual cash back for M2 Amex during weekend

QUOTE(nuodi @ Jan 9 2014, 01:20 PM)
Did 2 agoda bookings with amex in the past 2 weeks.
Both transactions captured as weekend transactions... so extra rebate 5% was given.  smile.gif

Perhaps they have changed their system to perform transactions on weekends. Posting date as usual is always late about 3-4 days later, so just be careful if making month end transaction.

Guys, things have changed with Agoda now. From now on, always choose MYR as your checkout currency as Agoda's rate is now better than ever! And you will save even more if you have MBB2 AMEX. And because your card will be billed in MYR, you do not have to worry about AMEX's high foreign exchange rate! I have just booked a room through the Maybank Agoda promotion landing page, paid with my MBB2 AMEX, got 7% off + about 2.5% (5x TP) + redeemed 12,500 Agoda rewards points (equivalent to USD25). Save myself quite some money.

This card is auto reload, you cannot reload yourself.

After that auto reload is available for smart tag line

Hi Guyz,

Redeem at midvalley, 1u or menara maybank would be RM 10 = 2500 treat point
For online would be RM 10 = 2700 treat point

So RM1000 would be 250000 points only compare to online require additional 20k points.

But only selected voucher avaialable like aeon, kfc, mcd petronas and aeon big. Parkson not sure.

also do hurry up n dont wait last minute as they can say finish on certain voucher

Maybank updated the GST FAQ: http://www.maybank2u.com.my/WebBank/GST_FAQ.pdf

Q36: Will I be charged GST when I make a redemption using TreatPoints or Membership Rewards?

Yes, you will be charged GST if you redeem a standard rated item (indicated in the redemption catalogue). The total points required to redeem the standard rated item is inclusive of GST.

*
To clear this clause 36, it is only right when you are doing redemption for items, be it e-mail, call card center by phone or even in card center(like in 1U, Gardens) that require postage.
Redeeming cash vouchers, gift cards(to make it simple, direct redemption) from card center will not be charged GST. On other places, it may subjected to GST.

in addition, GST will only be charged when making purchase.

Case 1: Redeem voucher
No GST charged because this is like converting money with cash voucher, no purchase yet.

Case 2: Redeem products
As if you directly buy something, so GST is applicable here.

Yes, you "buy" something from card center yes, but redeeming cash vouchers no unless you redeem Parkson vouchers in Parkson, that will be charged.

Use your M2U to register all the normal payees you have.
When select the Bill Payment, choose AMEX, if Astro accepting AMEX, you will able to pay, else have to use the other card.

Yes, you "buy" something from card center yes, but redeeming cash vouchers no unless you redeem Parkson vouchers in Parkson, that will be charged.

Just redeemed pakson vouchers from sunway pyramid last week 2nd April, no additional charges, 37,500 pts for 150 cash vouchers.

Some said is being charged. I also not sure how true is it.
But then for me that have a family, groceries are important for me as it can cost 60% of the monthly family spending, so I only go for AeonBig gift cards, will have value of rm110 on 28th each month.

Lol! Thanks for answering...
Because I'm thinking bank would always wanna earn (more) money

And, most bank will only offer free annual charge on the first year...

If it's really free for life & without any hidden charge, i don't mind to keep one (as I'm owning 3 credit cards at the moment) tongue.gif

About online transaction in yen, I never done it personally. Maybe someone with experience can answer you.

AMEX for Yen should be fine, and if you go through PAYPAL or not, the same SOP applies, that conduct the transaction after 2pm Saturday to get the 5% cash back (Effectively 7% now... until.... 6.25% on 1st of May).

And if you go through Paypal.... don't use Paypal's conversion... let the bank (Maybank) do it...

Also.... in May ... paying by Public Bank 6% cash back would be slightly better than M2U"s AMEX 6.25% , AMEX has higher transaction fees

With points it will only add up to 6.25%.... but with PB you get approx 0.5% more....

Example: Maybank 6.25% would likely be around 4.25% back, while PB's 6% is likely effectively 4.75% back ....

p.s. ^ For Foreign transaction....

3x is supposedly allowable according to BNM.
So, banks usually give 2-3x.

And also, Maybank is famous for being stingy on CL. So yeah, 3x is considered good.

My last CL increase request was additional 80% from my initial CL.

Then, when I switched to Plat recently, it is another additional 67% from my last CL. smile.gif

intothefantasy Check out this thread as well. If you do a lot of transactions in JPY on weekdays, I think the Aeon Watami is better because of the low admin fee. AMEX one is pretty high at 2.5% minimum.

Anyone have any experience using the MBB2Cards in a country that uses PIN instead of Signature? hmm.gif MBB CS told me I have to settle it in a MBB branch, but when I Googled around a bit others said they simply won't ask for your PIN and will proceed with signature instead.

At China, they need to input PIN.

But when swiping our cards, the terminal won't ask for the PIN.

I use a lot when I was in China. I just told them it doesn't have pin and they will process it. No issue. By looking at your card, they know it's not a local China credit card.

Just paid my Maxis bills via Maxis-Pay-by-Phone today and was informed that effective March 2015, Maxis bills can now be paid using AMEX via Maybank2u (previously cannot) rclxm9.gif

No need to get their callback during weekends anymore rclxm9.gif

P/s: If you previously (before March 2015) added Maxis bill as favourites, it won't appear under AMEX when you do Favourites Bill Payment. You have to delete the bill from favourite and re-add it, then it'll now appear under AMEX when you perform Favourites Bill Payment.

You are not the first nor the last under AMEX. But in Lowyat forum, guess you are the first.
That's why I don't really encourage AMEX holder to leave their card's info online(even in Paypal).
My AMEX currently are locked for all online transactions unless I call to unlock it.
Not to mention oversea spending, I call card center in advance on where I going to spend the money.

May give a try, no harm.
And you have to redeem it before 30th April.
That's the reason I fly back from Qatar this month, just 2 days to settle everything.

Gardens I'm not sure but KLCC no longer issues cards within an hour, regardless which day is that.
I remembered asking the officer earlier when I accompanied my friend to sign up M2Cards, she said only 1U has.

I'm not sure if this has been posted by anyone else, but www.agoda.com/maybank 7% discount for Maybank card holders promotion is no longer valid. I now go through www.agoda.com/malaysiaairlines to earn Enrich Miles instead when booking hotels.

Gardens I'm not sure but KLCC no longer issues cards within an hour, regardless which day is that.
I remembered asking the officer earlier when I accompanied my friend to sign up M2Cards, she said only 1U has.
*
Applied in January at 1 Utama, took 3 hours to get the card.

I'm not sure if this has been posted by anyone else, but www.agoda.com/maybank 7% discount for Maybank card holders promotion is no longer valid. I now go through www.agoda.com/malaysiaairlines to earn Enrich Miles instead when booking hotels.
*
Not valid in the sense of? Site still accessible and I'm sure you do know that not all hotels are eligible for 7% discounts. smile.gif

Well, I'm not sure. This was told in October last year.
Though Maybank promises one hour but sometimes they don't due to delay in receiving approval and etc.

My latest was a booking to Le Meridien KK on 9th April and the 7% discount did not come up after entering my Amex card details prior to confirming payment. Tried a few more times and results were the same. So ended up going through Malaysiaairlines promo instead.

Edit: I always thought it was for all hotels.. This means Le Meridien is not eligible?

I realised when I applied that the 60 minutes was not advertised anywhere inside the centre, nor did the staff promise anything like that. The only place it was advertised was on the big screen outside, which was still showing the old advertisements. So if you ask me, I don't think Maybank is promoting the 60 minutes thing anymore biggrin.gif

Somehow went to this link: http://www.agoda.com/visawedmy as posted by Gen-X, it shows it has expired and straight redirected to normal Agoda website.
However, in this Agoda website it has a VISA logo on the top right... Err... blink.gif

p/s: Ignore the above. Somehow direct clicked from Gen-X's blog shows expired but if go straight to this website, it has no issue.

Just for asking,

if currently i lost my card and i call CS to block current card and replace new for me,

is it my m2u card information also will be changed?

and my existing card transaction will be transfer to new as i can view my new card on m2u and not the existing card number anymore?

I can tell you, I bought so many iPhone 6 from Apple online store before this and there was one encounter which I nearly didn't get any rebate. Lucky for me, I bought it on Saturday, but it was processed on the next day (Sunday). So I still got my rebate eventually.

My current limit is only RM5000, and I have got no delay in paying at all.
I applied to increase my credit limit, but it seems like it wasn't approved. My salary is RM3000.

I think they will relaunch their online redemption once the new redemption rates take effect on 1st of May.

maybank is quite stingy in giving cl. if they rejected your application, then you shall only apply again after you have salary increment.

Usually within a week upon approval.

If you wanted to collect from them, you should have informed them that you wish to pick up from branch or card center instead of delivery when you applied.

Better still, if you have access to the card center, the card usually can be collected within 1-2 hours.

thanks for the clarification.

so i can try to call CS and ask whether i can self collect at the nearest card centre?
i stumbled upon this thread AFTER i applied through the nearest branch, not knowing there's an express way via card center doh.gif

another thing, is there an activation process or i'll just have to swipe the first time to activate the cards? thanks notworthy.gif

Has anyone redeemed their treats points at Sogo KL before?

If so, do you redeem and get physical paper shopping vouchers?
or is it similar to RCUBED where you need to purchase something and use treats points to give you discount on the spot?

as long as approval before 1 Apr, banks are obligated to charge RM50 service tax.

approval from 1 Apr and onwards, no service tax.

clean cut, nothing to argue.

It's stated very clearly in the TnC that the max cashback you can get from the campaign is RM100. They will take it back no matter if you report or not tongue.gif

Yesterday I booked two hotel accommodations via Agoda, one in JB and another one in SG. Both of them are not entitled for 12% because not in the eligible countries. Anyway, I got 10% which is still a good deal.

Honestly speaking I logged into two pages, one is the Visa Wednesday promo page and and another one is the normal Agoda page.

However, the normal Agoda page has lower prices compared to Visa Wed page but of course after the promo discount, Visa Wednesday has slightly cheaper price than normal Agoda page.

My point is though it gives promotion price but it doesn't look sincere to me. laugh.gif

p/s: Before somebody asks me why didn't I book using my AmEx on weekend is because I'm staying in the hotels tomorrow and this weekend. laugh.gif

Could have check the page for agoda.com/maybank to check the rate just in case after 7% might be cheaper than the 10% visa wed promo.

From the treatspoint catalogue that was attached in one of the earlier posts, it is about 14k++ for RM50 voucher for AEON Big, Tesco, etc.

Is this the same if I were to go to the Maybank HQ in Pudu and redeem or is less? I recall reading it is 12,500 or so.

Anyone still having issues with unavailability of vouchers? I am not going Maybank Card Centre,, should have higher chance of being available?

No. It is not the same. If you redeem the AEON vouchers at Maybankardd Centre, the rate is only 12,500TP for RM50 Aeon vouchers.

And I was at Maybankard Centre The Gardens just last Saturday. Plenty of Aeon vouchers still available.

You are correct. I have been noticing this for long time. If you are a member of agoda, then you compare between visa wed or maybank agoda, they are all different pricing. what's important is to check what the final price is. and honestly, the cheaper final price for me is always for the direct agoda members. but of course as a wise user, always compare all before decide smile.gif

Is it via the Insider deals? Or you just log into Agoda?

Actually 10% is a good deal. rclxms.gif The insider deal sometimes just give RM10-20 lower than the normal price.

Also if you have Visa Infinite, that's 5x points for you.

it really depends... sometimes insider deals. when there is no insider deals sometimes a bit cheaper. i normally check all available options for me. so my purchase with agoda varies between all the options.

Just curious, still possible to get MBB 2Cards by pledging a certain amount for FD?

I did it once quite long ago. Now not sure can or not.

And finally, is the 60 minutes Application and approval still around?

Thanks biggrin.gif

So guys, I received a ridiculous letter from Maybank about 2 weeks ago telling me that I am not entitled to earn TreatPoints just because I went on a shopping spree using my AMEX card.
I am seriously disappointed with Maybank. Anyone else received such stupid letter from Maybank?

What should I do??

Btw, I am not making any illegal purchase or making any unlawful transaction or reselling the items I purchased.

vmad.gif  vmad.gif  vmad.gif
Interesting. How many times you swiped your card?

If you have evidence that the items you purchased are for personal consumption, then furnish to them.

yea, interesting, first time know that cannot use AMEX to purchase goods for resales.
Are you owning a retail convenience store and use AMEX to puchase 5 digit of goods before GST implementation day?
How much have you swiped?

I don't recall. Maybe like 4 - 6 times a week on average? But does it matter how many times I swipe???
Take this as an example...
If I have 4 cars at home and decided to go petrol station and pay using my AMEX, can Maybank tell me I cannot use my card?
*
Perhaps Maybank has its own detection pattern so if you can prove that they are wrong then just furnish the evidence.

well...they did say LARGE and numerous transactions. So I don't believe your 4 cars petrol transactions is valid as those are not consider LARGE.

as per letters, they have the rights to do so under their clauses. if it's really for your personal consumption. furnish it with evidence and shoot them..

else....you cant do anything except to follow their clauses.

Im planning to redem my treatpoints.

During redemption, my TP is based on the statement or my current points up to the point of redemption?

So guys, I received a ridiculous letter from Maybank about 2 weeks ago telling me that I am not entitled to earn TreatPoints just because I went on a shopping spree using my AMEX card.
I am seriously disappointed with Maybank. Anyone else received such stupid letter from Maybank?

What should I do??

Btw, I am not making any illegal purchase or making any unlawful transaction or reselling the items I purchased.

5% cash rebate on weekend is still good.

How much u can earn from the cash rebate with this card?

Another point is no annual fee for Maybank 2 Card (Amex).

contact maybank customer service and inform them that your personal information / maiden mother name is compromised. See what is his/her advice. Personally, I would get the card suspended and get it replaced.

This is worst than a scam. Next time, describe your situation clearly. You forget to mention that you have not received your card.

This is what i suspect. Your card which is under delivery, got stolen. Like I have mentioned, report this again and this time, get it suspended.

This is really bad if that's the case. I will call to suspend immediately and ask for replacement, then you request to collect from the nearest branch.

you better check your credit report from bnm after few weeks later just to make sure whether you have any loan(s) or credit card(s) attached to your name but not applied by you. then make a police report and call the bank(s) involved to terminate those loan(s) or credit card(s) using the police report as a proof.

you confused until you mistaken yourself with your mother. they need your mother's maiden name not yours. i think they are using all these information to apply credit card(s) on your behalf. they will use your cc to swipe but in the end you will be the one to pay when the bank(s) come after you.

Before deduction but you must go in from the Visa Wednesday website and not general Agoda site. Also, not all hotels are eligible. So, you will need to see the hotels which have "Promotion Eligible" tag.
I believe Visa debit card is accepted as well.

You will only see the discount when you input your Visa card number. smile.gif

HLB got any good offer? Only thing I like about this MBB AMEX card is the 5 x TP it offers.
Any major difference between Maybank 2 Cards Premier compared to the Platinum cards I'm using?
Already wrote them a letter. Hopefully they will reply/call me back.
Hahah... I wish that would be me also. That guy must be earning crazy mad TreatPoints for that!

Not to say is "good" offer, but if you can spend rm985-1000 sharp every month on the same thing(petrol, groceries and mobile), this bloody STUPID card from HLB are worth to apply, since you are getting 8.6% of cash back.

Payment gateway of amex exists.

but when going into the screen, entering in my nric number, system show Tiada Rekod Pembayar Cukai.

but when go to efex payment gateway, key in ic, got record...

which means credit card payment gateway is somehow down..

can you try and revert back the result?

Just key in the ic and see whether u can go into the payment page..

Rather then looking for a good deal, its better to find item that you need.
Since my TP already low after last redemption at centre, then I had not much choice.
Just look for something that you think its worth for.

There are Maybank centers which open during weekends, so you don't need to go after work.
I went to the one at Gardens.

don't you think it's worth it to pay monthly to get 5% on weekends? i would advise if you still need maybe rm100-rm400 to achieve rm50 voucher, but rm800 for me is a bit too much.

http://www.superbuy.my/maybank2urewardspoi...jk-320/p/125386

Assuming 12500=RM50, this is sold at RM47 compared to Lazada at RM33.  rclxub.gif

http://www.lazada.com.my/trio-20-liter-jug...hite-81531.html
*
The price is almost the same.

Lazada - if you buy that jug only, u need to top up RM15 for shipping fee, 33+15 = RM48

Superbuy - RM47 (free shipping).

*
I've called LHDN it seems they need to add in manually from their side if showing no record.

Hmm in view of the points inflation, is this still a good credit card to have especially since Treatspoint now comes with 3-year expiry date? I only found out about the expiry date recently. Looks like it will be difficult to save enough points for a decent gift now.

even with the inflation, the rate is still decent, though as points.

just treat the points as bonus to ur card spending, but not as the main feature... well, amex's 5x is still attractive to speed up point collection while getting 5% cashback along the way smile.gif

Just noticed I still have 25845 TP after redeeming RM 600 Aeon vouchers and RM 200 Harvey Norman OTS redemption. biggrin.gif Now I will redeem another RM 100 Aeon vouchers for 25k TP.

So what can I do with 845 TP?

Just recalled I swiped another RM 860, so I have another 4300TP. Any idea how to make full use of it? laugh.gif

a) Holders of Maybank Visa Credit Cards not issued by Maybank;
b) Cardmembers whose Maybank Visa Credit Card account(s) are delinquent, suspended, cancelled, or in breach of any terms and conditions herein and/or Cardmember Agreement during the Campaign Period;

Nope, not yet.

Actually my MasterCard Ikhwan Plat was rejected by Maybank for unknown reason, suspected is due to my BT with Aeon which affects my credit history. I still have one more month to go and after that only I will start applying for different cards.

My CIMB Plat is also still pending for approval, I think I will slow down now. Kinda disappointed that Maybank rejects my application for Ikhwan... I can only apply 6 months after that. sad.gif
