just a question, i saw there will be 2 cards issue for this case. So i must pay the annual fee for both? or both will waive? since the gst is here, the rm50 no more already?

and i saw only amex card give 5x treat points. I usually do online transaction in yen. not sure if amex is good on this?
*
AMEX for Yen should be fine, and if you go through PAYPAL or not, the same SOP applies, that conduct the transaction after 2pm Saturday to get the 5% cash back (Effectively 7% now... until.... 6.25% on 1st of May).

And if you go through Paypal.... don't use Paypal's conversion... let the bank (Maybank) do it...

Also.... in May ... paying by Public Bank 6% cash back would be slightly better than M2U"s AMEX 6.25% , AMEX has higher transaction fees

so does this means that public bank cc would be much better ar? but with this maybank i can earn points as well
*
With points it will only add up to 6.25%.... but with PB you get approx 0.5% more....

Example: Maybank 6.25% would likely be around 4.25% back, while PB's 6% is likely effectively 4.75% back ....

p.s. ^ For Foreign transaction....

Not to say is "good" offer, but if you can spend rm985-1000 sharp every month on the same thing(petrol, groceries and mobile), this bloody STUPID card from HLB are worth to apply, since you are getting 8.6% of cash back.

Minus annual fees?

Nope, it will only shows on your next statement.
If you are thinking to get the TPS for April purchase, then you may forget about it.
*
Not true... it takes probably 3 days after the transaction.... check your point on the reward section as you log on to M2U... you have 2 days and a few more hours to redeem,,,,

As soon as the points are in you can use them.... essentially you have some money back even if you have not pay your statement yet...

"The bank that issued your card didn't approve this transaction. Please contact the card issuer's customer service department if you have any questions. Or you can add a different card now to continue"

anybody else encountered this problem? i managed to link my visa no problem.

tried to call CS; they left me hanging for 15 mins  doh.gif

You have to call CS to enable paypal transaction on your card.... limited time allowed up to 7 days...

it it only for AMEX? my visa debit and visa gold linkage process went smoothly without any problem
*
Maybank security.... typically only one paypal transaction is allowed before blocking... then you need to call CS to open it for a period of transaction or number of transaction... maximum period open is 7 days...

Treatpoints you will definitely get.
For cash rebate, make sure you do it on Saturday's evening or night, as sometimes PayPal follows US time zone.
I always do on Saturday's night and never failed to get cash rebate. smile.gif
*
You should read the first page.... Now, Paypal transactions by Maybank follows Malaysian's time.... I also forgot my own experience/statement (with one transaction early this month).... too many cards mixed up the timing/time zones...

Another tip... CIMB follows Paypal HQ's time zone.... Maybank AMEX used to follow AMEX HQ's time zone (but no longer)

I don't know and won't take the risk.
*
You can test it out without risk.... Do a transaction @ Sunday morning @ 0.01AM.... it'll be Sunday and not Saturday...

Is it the case that only new Maybank Amex cardholders have this problem? I've been using my Maybank Amex online all this while without any problem. Maybank never block any transaction. I use it on Amazon, Paypal, etc.  unsure.gif

QUOTE(spikey2506 @ May 22 2015, 02:54 PM)
I am not a regular user of Paypal. So I dont know. I only had one experience of calling MBB to unblock my card for Paypal. At that time the CS asked me how many hours do I need to use the card for Paypal. I just told him give me a couple of hours.
*
Maybank Amex CC holder since 2012.... Maybank blocks PAYPAL everytime after the first initial transaction... If you perform only one Paypal transaction a week, Maybank will not block it...

so let say i pay my tmnet using maybank amex on saturday or sunday, the TRANSACTION DATE shown in M2U or statement will definitely on saturday & sunday? or will delay until monday?or i have to pay tmnet bill on friday nite to ensure this transaction eligible for 5% cash rebate?
not clear with the meaning of :

5. 5% Weekend cash back when spend on Maybankard 2 American Express Card capped at RM50 per customer (including Supp Cardmember) per month. Meaning TRANSACTION DATE shown in M2U or statement must be on weekend (Sat/Sun) to get the 5% cash back.

That would be 12.00AM on Sat.... until 11.59pm on Sun..... unless Sat or Sun fall on the last day of the month, in which hopefully they will rectify and include it...
