chrome door lining:

http://www.aliexpress.com/snapshot/208141551.html

(maybe nowadays can find cheaper due to more supplier offering it. suggest to replace the existing 3M tape with new one with better coverage)

paddle:

http://www.aliexpress.com/snapshot/208141550.html

(need to drill, i sent to nearby shop, rm10 for installation with some rivets)

chrome door cover

from ebay.

DRL

http://truckfancy.com/index.php?main_page=...&products_id=57

use coupon to get 25% off. Inside the link got. This EchoMaster DRL, when the main headlight light ON, the the DRL brightness will reduce 50%.

manufactured by: http://www.echomaster.com/index.php/ford-focus-drl-10foc-gl

noticed in Aliexpress, they already start offering it. At the time i bought, not yet available for gloss version. But noticed the packaging quality seems much diff compare to EchoMaster.

rclxms.gif Congrats for the new Focus thread... I already test drove the Sport + and i'm really fall in love with it... the interior feel very familiar with conti cars (my mom hv a E46) and the handling is tight and solid... still saving money to get a focus... my target is the Sport without the + tongue.gif

suggestion:
1.remove the 2 big picture on top and replace with 1 picture that got focus and focus st (*hint* ford focus malaysia fb cover pic brows.gif )
2.remove one of midnight sky picture leaving only one (or maybe you got time to combine the two picture into one)

and tadaa, you could put the two ST colour

as i know, anything involve in wiring might void the warranty, so better check it with SC first

I did check with SC, anything involved power supply will void warranty.
even though plug and play or not open port, it still void.
but one thing is,just found out SC's mechanic selling LED and DRL too
Same things they selling and same way the install it, but they say "its ok"
of course the price for item much more expensive!!
What he mean?

Actually I'm mechanic + focus owner + seller , all i know is the same thing
but because of they work in SC , they are banker........
As i know, ford at other country they mob their focus like crazy,
whatever DRL, LED, Head unit ETC, i didn't hear any complaint beside non-experience
installer, open ports, or LED or Bulbs without can-bus system.
if there is a problem with changing DRL or something plug and play, why there are so
much available stock? Those item sell to who?
who gonna buy it? everyone afraid their car get void warranty, so do i !!
But why people still mob it?

I had sent an email to ford US about this case, why different country different story?
is it malaysia ford's quality lower or malaysia technician don't have enough experience yet?
so if anything happened then blame the aftermarket parts?
That's not fair right? who don't want to make their car looks better?

So bro... Please do something with it, at least send an email.
We have to teamwork, If there only Me do this guess US ford won't give a Flying F*** for it

Thank you, Sorry if my word offend any of you

Bro
Actually this treat is sub treat (continuous) from previous ford user treat,, all negative and positive feedback already discuss over there
For me a user for pass 2 months, no major negative feedback owning the car,, only that i just claim warranty on my 3rd brake light (masuk air)

And there is 4 factor why a treat is quite
1. Not much user of focus in the forum
2. No problem on the car (cause people will only post if there is a problem,, and will make noise about it, you dont even need to come here,, just google and can find the negative feedback)
3. User got their own group forum or platform to discuss ie FB
4. And last but not least,, the car is not popular or sell well blush.gif

My rattling problem returned.. same location, at the steering rack. I noticed that everytime the steering position was changed the sound will come. But if I release the lock that hold the steering position the sound disappears.. sad.gif

Muserella,
I think we have the same symptom an I am going to sc on 22nd. Do they manage to solve it for u last time ? What is u change the steering position ? Will it solve the problem ?

I want to get it rectified but worrying to let them open up my virgin car 😱

Yeah indeed it is about the SDAC, Form google I found out that it doesnt seems to have a positive review. How about the after sells service? The availability of parts and how high would it be? As for the resale value I already got the idea....n ready to absorb it if i'm taking the Fofo...

TDCI is of course better la.. depends on what kind of driver u are.. speed demons will opt for TDCI.. anyways have u drove/test driven the two? if not then go and experience it yourself.. both are very different from the other.. BTW im not sure if the TDCI got stock anymore.. those not sold yet is the last batch..

Ideally? The all new focus with TDCI or Ecoboost.. which wont happen for quite some time..

Likely to be a pretty long wait as it won't come in until our diesel fuel standards get revised.

Sometimes, I don't know who to believe when I ask SA about stock availability.

Some say 2012 Sport+ all sold out, only left Sport with 2k discount. Some say 2012 Sport+ still available, even Candy Red still available with 2k discount. Some say no discount at all. Jeez...

I've finally narrowed it down to Sport+ as the car to buy, but I really don't know which showroom to go to. I'm planning to get it mid-March or April.

Anyone can recommend a reliable SA?

Just back from visiting Ford Taman Midah to see with my own eye (and to poison my wife) the ford focus titanium.

I went there with my wife and my daughter using our 4 years old viva elite. To our surprise, even with our low profile life, we were greeted by the sales person starting from the moment I parked my car (he already asked me beforehand, to prepare for my arrival). This is very very good first impression hehe Luckily the guy didn't open the door for me LoL!

The guy that served me is Gary. Very very friendly guy and knows a lot about the car that I have my interest on. Explain all the things that I asked him without doubt.

Would like to recommend the shop to all the have their interest in Ford cars!

Price increase not a good step on a model that still struggling to steal grip from T&H.
Hopefully will not affect ongoing booking or people will end up canceling like what happen to Polo GTi

I like the Sport version. The semi leather seat can get hot when you park expose to direct sunlight?

Secondly, I see many white car turn yellowish but not sure about Focus. I really like the white but I mostly park at place without shade. What you guys think?

I also bought from Gary n Edward...slight delayed delivery of my car n the rm500 tint voucher they dun give you.. need to go to the 3m shop near their showroom to claim n do. The 3m shop will then give you discount rm500...they didn't even give me full tank petrol..was empty till the empty tank signal came on. But Edward was nice to give me rm50 to go fill myself. Overall their service was not bad...

This is for the Fiesta, but since the Focus uses a dual clutch powershift as well it should be applicable.

Powershift transmission common sounds a driver may notice are:

• Double clicking metal sounds. These noises can likely be heard while driving on very smooth surfaces during a 1-2 upshift or a 3-2-1coast down. The sounds occur with every gear engagement, but generally cannot be heard over the background engine, road and wind noises at higher speeds. Most noticeable if the windows are down and the radio is off, these sounds are of the shift forks moving and the synchronizers engaging a gear (similar to a manual transmission). These shifting sounds are part of normal operation.

• Coast down whine. A slight gear whine while slowing or coasting is normal.

• Clicking sounds after the engine is turned off. As the vehicle is powered down, the transmission will cycle the clutches to the released position so it is ready for a safe restart of the engine. This is part of normal operation. Clicking sounds from the transmission immediately after the engine is turned off are normal.

• Low speed grinding. A slight grinding noise may be heard at about 2 MPH. This noise is more evident during “trailer-hitching” events (see below). This noise is caused by a normal bearing rotation and does not affect the durability of the transmission.

• Reverse gear whine. Some PowerShift transmissions will exhibit gear whine in reverse. The level of whine has been significantly reduced in later build vehicles, but can still be detected to some level. This is characteristic of many manual transmissions, and is not a defect or a situation in which a repair should be attempted.

• Trailer-hitching feel. Some customers may experience a trailer-hitching feel (or a slight bumping feel). The trailer-hitching feel may occur in lower forward gears – particularly if the customer is off and on the throttle quickly. It may be more noticeably in a parking lot or when a customer is doing multiple on/off throttle pedal maneuvers. This trailer-hitching/engagement feel is a normal characteristic of the dry clutch-equipped manual transmission design. Conversely, conventional automatic transmissions are equipped with a torque converter. The torque converter is a fluid coupling device which dampens these positive engagements feels.

i am no preparing my docs for loan application.. but parents still want me to wait at least until the election. they say if PR won, car tax might be abolished. but i doubt it will be happening anytime soon since surely got a lot of debate and paperwork to do. the earliest maybe Jan next year..

not sure to go for titanium+ or non-plus. the only thing that i feel worth in the + model is BLIS and active city stop. parallel park is easy enough for me. cruise control might be handy in light traffic but wont help much while traveling during festive season..

halogen and bi-xenon headlights got a lot of different?

the lighting diffrent sometime between halogen and Bi-xenon smetimes is still up to personal preference

Firstly from te outlook ....both headlamp will make the car looks diffrently ? you have to view it yourself.
Second for output quality of cause Projector HID(+ model) better lighting with good focus maybe this you can ask around ppl that driving projector or non projector car ...
Third....budget cos both model cost are diffrent...

I've booked my FoFo Sport 2012, SA said the one I booked is the last one, Sport+ no more stock, have to wait for Sport+ 2013. Not sure why people say it's not selling well, but why SA keep saying no more stocks? Heard Malaysian FoFos' are assembled in Thailand?

Congratulations on your booking rclxms.gif
if your information is true then i might as well cancel my sport+ booking that i make with no discount and start looking for SA that willing to give discount for 2013 sport+ model tongue.gif

I also had wonder about focus's sale. Nissan had proudly announced the newly launched almera had exceed 1000 bookings, but ford had repeatedly refuse to answer at all about focus sale. Maybe quota of focus allocated for malaysia is small to begin with. And yes Malaysian FoFo is assembled in Rayong Plant in Thailand.

Anyone know best selling CBU car in Malaysia? How much do they sale?

Finally got my Candy Red Ford Focus Sports!

Had been driving it for like 100km through KL and around Putrajaya/Cyberjaya... all i can say is, i really love the car!

It handles fast cornering with high stability and the steering is very light and responsive.

Other than that, the Microsoft Sync is quite responsive with voice command and it syncing very well with my Galaxy S3 without any issue.

I will report more if something interesting is going on with my new baby tongue.gif

Hi, I just got my panther black fofo sport last Wednesday and I'm not regretting it at all!

Would like to know if anyone knows where I can get rubber mats for the car? I went to a shop at Ttdi and was quoted rm300 for customized rubber mats. The material they use is from 3M. Thanks.

Good to see someone not regretting getting a Fofo tongue.gif

I'm also looking for rubber mats, i guess custom made using 3M rubber for rm300 is quite reasonable.

I think 7k for 2012 car is not worth esp for cold car.

what make u had a hard time to decide?

after 1.5 years owned a mazda 3 , I switched to focus.... the performance and driving exp away better than mazda

Well ford in general does not have very good reputation in terms of reliability but no doubt It has the best in terms of handling.tested both and i feel that the mk3 focus is definitely more refined..just worried about the untested 6speed dct whereas m3 has been around for some time and there is no major issues with car although it doesnt offer the latest tech available..

I will be using the car for the next 5 years and i travel average 30k km per year..so reliability is very important to me..

So the dilemma is between an older but tested car vs a newer but untested one..would be grateful is anyone can share their exp

first gen tdci using the same gear box (6 dct) and most of the owner already traveled more than 100k km.Most of tdci owner are heavy footed and some of them even tuned the engine up to 400Nm and the gear box having problem free.

most of them recommended to service the gear box at least half of the stated in service manual (for spirited driver) due to the different climate in our beloved country.

Don't worry to much , u hav 5 year warranty rite?

i got 20k discount for 2010 car when I bought my car during Mei 2011

IMHO:

hot car= hot among theft , toyota , honda , good resale value

cold car = not good resale value , even u left the key inside the car , theft may be took of for joy ride only

never across a warm car

Isnt the previous tdci running on 6speed torque converter?
And how much does it cost to service the gearbox?isnt it a dry clutch that does not require oil change?

Hi guys, wondering if anyone faced / knows what this warning indication means. When I exit and lock my Focus, I get this Information sign that appears between my fuel and temperature gauge (attached). It flashes in red colour.

This only appears when the car is locked. I tried reading the manual or check for messages via the system but nothing. Did a system check as well and it said all is ok.

Just curious and a bit worried on this. Thanks.

Thanks.

interval service is same for petrol n diesel (10k )

My next service is 60k and still FOC so I hav no idea

rough idea up to 60k for both variant:

petrol rm3705 (Mazda)
diesel rm3950

it is highly recommended to service the diesel every 5k instead of 5k , so another rm450 must be allocated esp if u re always stuck in the jam.

just prepare around RM6k-7k /per 100k km

It will not blink if we

Bro, may I know if your new ride is the S+ or S version?
If yours is the S+ version I don't recommend changing into ST bodykit,
'cause they don't come with sensors hence you will have to make holes in it.
And the bodykit itself is kinda pricey, not worth to buy such piece and drill holes in them.
Anyway, I do have supplier for Focus Accessories, PM me if you are interested. nod.gif

As for my personal opinion, the car itself is already a beauty.
Maybe you can start from something small first.
What I did at first was powder coating my rims to matte black.
And lately I installed side mirror visor, door chrome lining, added rear bumper protector,
changed my pedals and changed my nuts to blue to match the Ford logo lol.

The car is still new, not much bodykit available yet.
I recommend you to change your bonnet to Carbon Fiber ones. ( When the are more choices available )
It will match your black, plus it lighten the car hence speed tongue.gif
One thing I know for sure is I am looking forward for more changes to my ride too!

Yeap, the ST got it too. ( That's what I read online too tongue.gif )
The cost for ST bodykit will be more or less 9k, it is really pricey.
It does come with the exhaust pipe though.
My supplier has them, but I doubt many would want to spend that much, especially S+ owners.
No one wants to spend almost 10k on a bodykit and drill holes in it.
Well, that's just what I think anyway smile.gif

Hello Hello

I booked the Sport+ model. I really prefer the hatchback model but one feature of the sedan focus I wish to have is the day light built in the head lamp module.
Anyone out there installed this daylight in their Sport model?

There are minor imperfections deeper in, but for a FOC and partly-DIY powder coating,

You can try Coated by Dynatec in Shah Alam. Price around RM800+ but need to leave your rims for 1 week.
They will only accept rims, means you need to take of the rims & tires by your self. They won't do it for you.

Would like to know the estimated cost for the maintenance (minor & major) for this car. i know that for this version is still quite new and most of us is still under the warranty. Maybe, the owner from previous version can give advise on this?

i think it was 1.0 ecoboost vs 1.6 NA , but surely still behind of most 2.0NA

I would prefer new tdci engine with 16+ ps , minor mode could reach 200ps

AFAIK, all the car which manufactured on 2012 out of stock d...so if u book now...most likely u will get 2013 car...but as per informed by my SA , the earliest maybe late march....if u book now u will get the car on march or april lor...

the advantage is u will get the 2013 car which got better value compared to 2012...the drawback is u may not get the discount n the price might increase...

Not only Focus has problems lah, I suggest you to look at LYN VW subforum... even germany's cars also have ton of problems... especially their gearbox which can cost rm15k to fix... thats why 5 years warranty will keep you peace in mind.... at least for 5 years lah...haha tongue.gif

Should be this one

Ford Focus in Malaysia FB

Been visiting the page few times a week from the birth of the page, i wont say there is no problem with the focus. But to say its on scary level maybe exaggerating tongue.gif

Too bad ford wont reveal how much fofo mk3 is already rolling on the road. If we know the figure maybe we could guess how many happy owner compared to number of disappointed owner.

In Ford Focus mk3 owner group there is 40+ owner; none yet had reported thier fofo stranded for weeks at sc. There are some recuring defects report, most were common problems that also occurs to other manufacturers too.

Every car have the problems. The scary one will be those until that required recall like some T-brand and H-brand for their certain models.
To say FoFo have tons of problem until scary level, it will be too much exaggerated. U owned one?

I'm a owner myself, aside from jerking issue, I don't have any problems. Jerking only during less than 5k mileage, after that hardly noticed. Any jerking pretty common for dual clutch system cars. Including VW cars.

Not to defend my purchase of this car but I felt satisfied with it. Every time I passed a new Honda Civic I felt more satisfaction due to i pay less with better spec'ed car, more fun to drive car, better safety and etc but js abit low RV due to average Malaysian mentality.

U wanna check the rv so easy bro...u can check online such as oto.my, u can get a rough idea from there...for e.g. 2009 ford focus roughly ppl sell at rm 69 - 70k while 2009 civic still can go till 100k..

Again..if rv is ur concern, then ff is not ur choice...better get japs car (T & H) biggrin.gif

8.2l/100km since owned for a month. Average travel distance/trip is 35km with speed around 60km/hr. are u happy with the figures here? If you have a lot of short travel distance with start stop many times, it will Makan a lot of oil.

I am proud owner of ford focus mk3. My driving experience with FoFo is great. Only recent counter with warning message *transmission hit stop engine 9 minutes* when stuck in the slope with heavy traffic. The warning message was disappear when I escaped from traffic in the slope and back to normal road with slight jammed in traffic. Believe the warning sign is a protection to the DCT instead of real problem on DCT.

Jerking is gone after 1000km. Auto assist parking is a wow factor when I park my car in office. But not really practical in public road. But the bliss system is really good.
When travelled with high speed around 140 to 150km/hr, nobody notice it and still sitting comfort. the wind noise is very minimum at this speed too. Sync is working well except not ready for Chinese character and pronoun cation.

The transmission hot warning appeared when my FoFo was creeping on 100m hill slope around 30 minutes. Badly jammed during that time where all cars slowly going up the hill. The car transmission looks like sensitive with this kind of road situation. After reach the hill top, the warning disappeared immediately on flat road when searching for parking. Nothing unusual on my car engine after parked my car.
i will search for answer from ford sc on my 1st service.

Where did I bought? : From a friend in Facebook. (Focus MK3 Club, look for Wai Yip Sin)
Price? : Ask him.. tongue.gif
Installation? : Plug & Play, do it by my self at home in 30 minutes only.
Any installation guide? : Yes, but it's in Chinese. But hey, if I can understood it (I'm Malay) that's means it's very easy to understand the guide.
Warranty void? : Well this is the most famous question. By default, yes it will void. But as long as you knew how to swap back to original (which only around 15 minutes), then do it before you send your car to the SC for servicing.
Why WSW 2.0?: Hehe.. it's the registration number of my previous ride (Details Here) which I've re-assign to my new FoFo. ( I missed my old ride so much! cry.gif )

this is just a minor issue.. it happens when u press the brake for a long period of time in D mode.. so the trick to tackle this is pretty simple.. put your car on N or P when u anticipate a long idle.. cheers..

Another tips on dual clutch
Never let your car dragging by itself on D,,
We ussually do this at heavy traffic jammed,, we put at D then let the car roll itself slowly forward,, put small amount of preassure on the fuel,, this one very hard to master blink.gif
Then never ever ever shift to N if the car still rolling (some people do this even at high speed during turun bukit,, they said to save minyak rclxub.gif ),, make sure the tyre stop rolling then only shift to N

The test car ECU might had been confused with different type of driving pattern from various tester. I believe it is normal for a test car that often jerking.

Come on, even if this is ecu "confused" like you said which I never heard this before in my life, the car shouldn't jerk like this, it jerk every time, even I just release the brake (gear in D) from stop, the car jerked & jerked & roll slowly forward..... Confirm is the gearbox issue like many ppl complaint world wide & also in Ford Focus Malaysia FB

bro,

where did u go for test drive? i did mine at showroom jalan Ipoh, and did it with titanium + didnt notice any jerking whatsoever.

btw to all sifus,

is it necessary to go for the first service after 1k mileage? i've read somewhere (not sure in LYN or FB) that the unschedule service will not covered warranty and we need to pay for that service....

What are you expecting owners here to answer? If they agree with you, you won't buy it. If they disagree with you, you will insist that you are right, and you still won't buy it.

My advise to you: if you are disconcerted by the complaints on social medias eg. gearbox issue, then forget about the Fofo and look elsewhere.

Too bad for you got to experience the worse for fofo early on test drive, ive only seen complaint from owner before.

If youre still having hope for fofo, the last thing i could suggest is join the owners tt. and maybe you got to hear 1st hand experience and if allowed maybe even test their ride.

now a days most of the "smart" car ecu will have ability to learn the driving habit from the driver, and it needs at least 2 - 3 days to adjust to the optimum......the same technology is in Mitsubishi InVecs III that I known off......

Every car also have their own issues, maybe contis more so due to new tech available in the car, not just Ford but also VW, BMW, Merc etc. etc.... But that doesn't mean it is 100% sure you will encounter problems if you own one.

If you are worried about reliability, forget about contis, just stick with Sushis with their 10 year old engine and 4AT gearbox. Old tech, but proven tech.

I dunno about other cars, but Ford's ECU doesn't take 2-3 days to adapt to you driving style la, at most a few minutes.

I did a test drive at the showroom at sprint highway.the car has 8k on it and the gearshift was actually smooth when i was passing through light traffic, moving from a slop and even better when there is straight road..but it did shudder a little bit when i intentionally brake and accelerate to imitate driving in a traffic jam...just wanted to feel the shuddering that ppl have been complaining about..its not that bad but it is there in certain driving conditiion

I suppose u need to adapt yourself to drive a dct as it is not like a regular torque converter.some forumers have pointed out ways to drive to reduce he shuddering.this is just based on my test drive exp and i dont own a fofo

Congratulations!

The jerking issue is only apparent while creeping slow speed and even more while moving from standstill on hill area.
If those situation avoided dual clutch is an awesome transmission.

seriously? My first tank of fuel only left last 25% but the milleage is only 315km. so i think full tank will only make it around 400KM+. is only half of what you do.

but the average fuel give me 5 pedal, how to get 800+km?

My focus already 4 months with nearly 6k km on odo,, its a weekend car
On how to gain more milleage,, its all depend on ur right foot,, and maybe im old already,, no more boyracer attitude
My first tank can go up to 400km only, then slowly gain milleage after some time

Yup im also shock at first,, tell my friend also they dont believe,, i calculate manually to double confirm,, it will plus minus around 30km the different,, i post picture of my odo at our FB page recently,,
And i believe its all up to you on how to enjoy the car,, if u dont give a damm on FC and want to release all 170kuda then by all means go for it,, me also sometime push the (WOT) fuel to max ussually after toll booth
and me also dont give a damm on FC but like i said im old already,, now the way i enjoy my ride is different, the good FC is just a bonus for me

I just done a 400km kl<-> Ipoh with half tank, so i guess 800km is possible and perhaps like you said my car is still new and need time to gain the mileage over time. now only on 600km

should be exactly the same spec with 2012 and with history of being sold-out, naturally no discount will be given; unless in competition between branches and dealers.

Hi all bros, I am wondering if there is a free 1000km check up the new Focus? When is the first time you guys send your car to Ford service center?

Just got my FoFo before CNY. Go to work always jam, mileage at 700km, average speed only 22km/h, fuel consumption at around 11.3 l/h, reset at each refill. Anyone has any stats to share?

Correct
New paint no need polish,, better go wax or paint coat such as sierra glow etc
*
why u think new paint no need polish?
some of the imported car even worst ,
because have to park under the sun for few weeks or months before it delivery to the owner.
and most new paint got orange peel issue,
and for sierra glow , they do polish your car first to get mirror like finish before apply coating.

and even rolls royce will polish the car b4 it deliver to the owner. smile.gif

I hate those driver who think he is the only driver in hurry. Keep high beam others even he know that no place for other cars to go.

Today I really pissed of with one MK5 . I think he is the hurry coz keep high beam me n others. I let him go and then following him very closed until he hav to turn down and let me pass. Maybe he wanted to see what type of car that keep chasing him at the high speed. to be surprise he not in hurry anymore after I pass him , just drive at normal speed.

if not the MEX highway..I surely dont want to chase GTi...surely makan asap.

I love this torque monster..

thumbup.gif good job, that'll teach them

I also had the same situation last saturday while driving on plus highway, a lancer cucuk me when there were 2-3 cars infront of me driving at 120kmh, after cars infront give way, i floor the paddle straight to 180kmh in no time, then the lancer already eating my smoke and i saw he drove slowly in the middle lane when im exiting the highway...lol

we the fofo owners dont like to fight2, but we deserve some respect on the road, atleast tongue.gif

308t is overflowing with youthful vibe, the curves the performance, cabin comfort is awesome too
And the panoramic sunroof is simply awesome. The limited edition 308t Griffe looks awesome thumbup.gif

408t got more business-like luxury, performance of sport car and comfort of family car brows.gif

But both dashboard and center console is rather plain. And the view from behind.... I just dont like how peugoet design the back of their cars; too plain for 408 overdoing it for 308. Looks is subjective anyway.

Fofo should a a balance of sports and family car, will need to adopt dual-clutch driving style brows.gif

Not much i can say, do go for test drive.
Also consider the distance and reputation of the sc youre going to service, repair and claim warranty later icon_rolleyes.gif

If youre referring to fofo mk3, 700km/tank for mixed city and highway drive is possible.

Automative magazine Autocar Malaysia december 2012 issue achived 836km/tank in thier local test drive.

The tank is 55liter btw

i dont think there will be a free 1000km free check up as the schedule is at 10k.....it will be considered as unschedule service and it will be charge on the service. correct me if im wrong......

How much is the charge for unschedule service? is it there is a warranty? As this issue is already being normal, Ford should bear the responsible and not to charge...

Greetings!

If all goes well, I'll be trading in my 5-year-old Toyota Vios S spec with a Ford Focus this coming Friday.

Question is: Sedan or Hatchback?

Personally, I love sedans and hatches are not my kind. However, from what I realised (I test drove both the sedan and hatch):

- The Titanium+ interior colour is beige full leather (I don't like the beige colour, and this is a very big factor for me)
- The Sport+ interior is black semi-leather (I love the black, but I prefer full leather)

- The Titanium+ comes with auto-adjusting seat for the driver.
- The Sport+ comes with manual adjusting seat for the driver.

- The Titanium+ comes with a blind-spot assist
- The Sport+ doesn't have that

- The Titanium+ only has 16" rims
- The Sport+ is fitted with 17" rims

- The interior space of the Sport+ feels bigger than the Titanium+ (could it be the bigger boot space allocated for the Titanium+?)

Anything else I missed out?

As much as I love sedans, I'm leaning slightly towards the Sport+ sole due to the interior colour. Can I confirm with you guys that the Titanium+ only comes with beige interior?

Tested it in the PJ SC.

Anyway, what are the common problems for this Ford Focus? Anything I should be worried about?

Read some comments that the Ford Focus parts are expensive as your BMWs, Audis etc., and the apparent poor service from the SC isn't helping matters.

Anyone can confirm this?

Ok thanks..dint know they already have stock for the ford focus sport.I have been waiting for 2 months cause they told me the new arrival will be at end of march. Not too sure about the pricing of the parts but maybe you can get the price list from the sc for common parts like brake pads, oil filter, side mirror and etc for comparison?

IMO there are no difference btw hb and sedan interm of interior space....the rear seat almost the same (sedan looks more spacious inside bcos of color (baige)...but for the rear bonet, of course the sedan more spacious ...my 2 cents thumbup.gif

Hey guys.

I believe most of you are owners of the Focus. Anyway, are there any major problems you are experiencing with the car? Or any problems with SDAC's service quality?

I went on the Ford Focus Malaysia FB page and it seems like there are loads of complaints (more about SDAC's service rather than the car itself).

My family owns a 10-year-old Ford Focus, but we send it to a 3rd party Ford specialist for servicing so I'm not too sure about SDAC.

Any advise? Any major problems with the car (other than the jerking issue which will apparently go away after xxxxkm)?

please don't get confused. they're all 2012 model. the difference is whether they are 2012 stock or 2013 stock only. if you're lucky to come upon 2012 stock, you may get up to 10k discount like some of our forumer here perhaps tongue.gif

Hi guys!

Just came back from SDAC PJ. Paid my RM500 deposit for a 2013 Ford Focus Sport+, Midnight Sky colour.

Just a question, my SA told me that the bank will call me on Monday, and I'll have to fax/e-mail my loan documents to the bank myself. He said that SAs are not allowed to handle customer's documents because of too many complaints of mis-using of documents etc.

Is that true? Or is my SA just plain lazy?

Will also be trading in my car and the Ford dealer quoted me a price. Is there a way to ensure that he won't change the price when the day comes for me to pick up my new ride?

Many thanks!

sometimes depends on Branch, Bank and SA......

Is better you deal with bank directly...but kept your SA in the loop to speed up the process...
Normally if everything OK loan will approve within 2-3 days due to currently is non peak period for car market...

Alright thanks!

BTW, my brother was interested in the Ford Focus ST and we test drove that too in an open-air car park.

Jesus Christ what a sweet ride.

This morning went to cheras Trio mantap to have a look whether got any 2012 model FOFO sport but all out of stock already.

the sales man was really good over there, patient and give me all the detail that i need, unfortunely i don't have the pleasure of test driving it. Some one drove it before i could try. So far no promotion going on for FoFo sport sad.gif but he said can give me discount sikit sikit only, better then the puchong ford.

anyone getting 2013 fofo got any this problem?

My SA told me today that my car will arrive latest by May.

Could be April, but he said latest May as he doesn't want to make empty promises.

We shall see. Will be submitting my loan documents to the bank tomorrow.

The loan repayment not much difference between Sport and Sport+ to be honest.

My policy has always been, "when you get something, make sure you get the best, or else don't get at all". Hahaha.

Is your SA submitting the loan documents for you or do you have to fax your documents to the bank yourself?

nope, im submiting the document to SA, he will try n apply loan for me, he said mostly can get 2.4X not sure how much is the market now 2.5% interest right?
after submit then the bank will give me a call to confirm.
well for me Sport n Sport + no different , so my policy is "if i can do it i will do it myself" like the side parking assist, rain n light sensor, follow me home light.... except for the air bag.

let me go calculate and see see can i afford a sport + or not , my repayment is 9 years, should be Rm50-70 different.

Damn, I've to submit the loan to the bank myself cos the SA claimed that "we are not allowed to handle customer's documents cos a lot of complaints regarding misuse".

I got a RM1k discount off my downpayment.

I think RM100 is a reasonable difference to pay, if you can afford it. The difference between the Sport and Sport+ is too huge to ignore.

i went cheras trio mantap they give 2k discount

well the RM100 different for me is huge as i still got house loan going on , saving as much i can, i mean Sport got cool feature but sport + got cooler features, i guess i will scratch that itch off my back 1st , or myb after few years down the road, FOFO get more awesome then i will buy the extra cooler version.

Anyone drove/owned a Swift before changing to Fofo? Is the difference in driving sense/fun level is that much? I am driving normal Swift now and for me it is one fun car to drive, but watching and reading alot from reviewers saying that this edition is very nice. I am very much poisoned already.

When I say, fun level, does not mean speeding like crazy guys do, but more towards your confidence in handling it around roundabout corners with speed (legal and safe) without feeling like it will go out from the lane and whatnot.

My family has a Ford Focus MK1 at home, my sister-in-law drives a Suzuki Swift and now I'm buying the Ford Focus MK3.

For this segment, nothing comes close to the Focus when it comes to handling.

Torque Vectoring Control is the major difference here. When I test drove the car, I made a sharp cornering at 70km/h, I didn't even wince.

Hi , Just wanna find out whether the fuel comsumption stated in the specs is true for new Focus. something like urban: 9.4L/100km, extra urban: 5.1 L/100km & combined : 6.6 L/100km. or is it close to what it claims. I just booked 1 titanium + for my wife.

Highway you can get 7.9L /100KM or lower depends how heavy is your food and how you deal with others car on the highway.

8 seconds.

By the way, just got a call from the bank, my loan is approved!

Now, my SA told me that there's nothing I need to do except to wait for the car to arrive. He said all the documents will be prepared when I collect my car. Is this true? What about my registration number? He doesn't know what number I want yet.

Congratulations!

I could only wonder what document else? If agreement for the loan, then yes you could wait until the car arrive.
If you want to i think it could be arranged to sign it now; I decided too see the car 1st before i sign anything.

For the number plate, you should inform you SA now and fork out money for the cost ASAP too.

My history:
Booking: 1 nov 2012
Loan Approved: 3 nov 2012
My desired no plate released: 27 dec 2012
Car arrived: 10 march 2013

Feedback appreciated. Low speed jerkiness, jumping out of gear and wide open throttle low gear acceleration. Software patch not needed for 2013 models? Noticed reduced but still complaints on fofo FB.

What? I think you mean it's not LED. DRL stands for Daytime Running Lights, and I'm pretty sure those are DRL.

Still patiently awaiting my new car.

Does the regular Fofo has the same engine sound as the ST? I thought

during my test drive, the engine sound was nice. Maybe not as loud as a

V-Tec but for me, it has a nice "growl" to it but not artificial like if you

install custom mufflers and whatnot. Perhaps it was just my mind too

excited to drive a Fofo, although the test drive unit not exactly Malaysian

unit.

The Focus ST has a active sound symposer at the intake manifold to amplify the engine "growl" when high revving. Conversely, it switches off when cruising to minimize engine sound. It was implemented in the ST specifically to make the engine sound more aggressive when driven so.

I don't thing the normal Fofo has this.

Got your car already?

Well, you can always refuse to sign the loan agreement.

Unless you've signed it before you view the car.

2 months is pretty long. Which SC you booked it from?

I called up Persada Auto in Damansara, the manager told me 2 weeks. Sadly, I've already placed booking with SDAC PJ.

I think normally loan agreement will be sign before getting or seeing the car....unless if you buy cash then you can decide whether you can accept or reject the car.

if you see the car first and somehow the scratch was made during JPJ inspection or car wash the how ?? reject the car ? anyone did that b4 ?

Before collecting your car, ask your SA for the chassis no/VIN and goto Ford ETIS home page, enter the VIN and u will get a very detail info abt your car, like manufacture date, location, for which market & also detail features + functions that come with your car.

Wish I could buy Fofo now. I did asked the SA during my recent test drive. So far, it is pretty much confirmed that 2013 stocks will have increased prices. How much? Not sure yet. Plus he could only give me the "default" RM2500 discount for 2012 stocks.

I don't have any source for you guys but someone did mention about this in previous posts. So I just happen to

remember about it, and decided to ask the SA at my local branch. He agreed and said the prices might increase "a little

bit". Dont know how much though. Have to wait and see then. Just take it with a pinch of salt. Might just be another

way to get customers to buy the 2012 stocks off their warehouse or something. laugh.gif

Ok just spoke to someone in Ford. It's not finalised yet but the price might increase about RM2k because the demand is very high.

He also said that they will honour the booking, once you book then you'll get it at the previous price.

I guess everything is just preliminary right now, nothing concrete about price increment yet.

Great news on the high demand. Hope that would mean better service by Ford (most spare parts are available without having to wait for too long, reasonable price for parts too etc.). This should, hopefully, translate into even better models arriving in Malaysia, same as the likes of Kia. Better choices for us as well.

Well apart from financial, I am waiting for new Mazda M3, Kia K3 and perhaps the new Honda facelift Civic. All should be within the same price brackets. Perhaps, there would be changes as well after GE, depending on who actually won I think. A few factors at least, but if I am able to buy today, I would choose Fofo over current choices from other makes.

By the time the M3 or K3 comes out, there will be newer models out there again. It's a never-ending cycle.

I say, just go for what you love right now and don't look back. The Focus is currently the best car you can get for the price range.

I dont think there is anything major in near future for M3 other then skyactive technology, looks most likely be the same. K3 will offer lotsa gadgets and accesory but handling and trasmissions i dont think will be able to surpass fofo yet.

What if by the time M3 & K3 release ford also announced they will release model with accesory and performance package? You will be waiting forever.........

GE is around the corner, but changes will not be overnight. Drafting and debating might take month, and you cannot be sure they wont introduce other charges to maintain cash flow. Politician is still politician whichever side they are. A good discount now might be better then whatever price-cut the goverment will offer later.

If you dont really need a car it is a good thing to wait or not buying at all, debt is not really a fun thing to hold tongue.gif

Yeah true, never ending cycle. Either way, I also hoping they would come out with facelift version as well a'la Fiesta.

I agree, for the price, it is one of the best. I like the handling and the interior looks actually. Although I have to say

CRZ interior is nice too tongue.gif . Just the hybrid part and the very-much lacking of backseats makes it a less much of a

choice compared to Fofo.

I agree debt is not a fun thing, but if we do it safely so to speak, we could enjoy things within our own capabilities. Like

driving a Fofo wub.gif
