Just back from visiting Ford Taman Midah to see with my own eye (and to poison my wife) the ford focus titanium.
I went there with my wife and my daughter using our 4 years old viva elite. To our surprise, even with our low profile life, we were greeted by the sales person starting from the moment I parked my car (he already asked me beforehand, to prepare for my arrival). This is very very good first impression hehe Luckily the guy didn't open the door for me LoL! The guy that served me is Gary. Very very friendly guy and knows a lot about the car that I have my interest on. Explain all the things that I asked him without doubt. Would like to recommend the shop to all the have their interest in Ford cars! |

i am no preparing my docs for loan application.. but parents still want me to wait at least until the election. they say if PR won, car tax might be abolished. but i doubt it will be happening anytime soon since surely got a lot of debate and paperwork to do. the earliest maybe Jan next year..
not sure to go for titanium+ or non-plus. the only thing that i feel worth in the + model is BLIS and active city stop. parallel park is easy enough for me. cruise control might be handy in light traffic but wont help much while traveling during festive season.. halogen and bi-xenon headlights got a lot of different? |

QUOTE(lowkl @ Jun 26 2013, 12:45 AM) My humble opinion on the issue of the FoFo's "bad" resale value: +1000 to this well thought opinion. totally in support.- firstly, all cars depreciate in value over time. - I estimate (based on 4-7 year-old cars as listed on online car markets) that the FoFo is selling at between RM10K (most optimistic) to RM20K (worst case) less value compared to the purported market leaders of the same class and the same age (Toyota Altis/Honda Civic). - You also have to factor in the fact that for 2 liter variants, Toyota/Honda is actually priced about RM10K more than FoFo. So there's a bit of additional cost-of-funds to consider. - Furthermore, if you are talking about the new FoFo, you get 3 years maintenance free.... that's worth let's say RM3K? - Taking all of the above into account, the additional "cost" of choosing a FoFo is something like (on average)RM15K "paid" over 5-7 years. That works out to be RM2K to RM3K extra cost per year.... effectively less than a pack of cigarettes per day (a common amount for many smokers). Now... in my personal view, the additional joy that I get from driving a car that makes me happy for the 2-3 hours a day I am stuck in it EASILY is worth more than a pack of smokes! Let's see.... I get: - a higher performance car - better handling - turns heads (it is more unique and rare than luxury cars like Merc S-Classes or BMW 7-Series! In Malaysia, those are a dime a dozen!) - TRUE JOY SO....when you look at it this way..... is the additional cost so unreasonable? |

last weekend i just completed my very first 1,000km. going from KL-Penang+Kedah-KL. mileage at 1.6k now. the jerking getting softer and softer. expect to be completely gone by 2k (i hope so).
during the travel, highest speed i attained was 160kmph. wind noise can be heard starting 140kmph. however, the car very stable. steering not even shaking. and even my wife can handle it at around 140kmph. i tinted my car using 3m. total damage was rm1.5k but it was awesome! worth the money paid. |

QUOTE(alvinfcj @ Jul 16 2013, 12:29 PM) Thanks for the advise on puchong branch bro... from my 1 week experience with pure city driving, the number is around 12-13 liter per 100km.. very bad. but, my car just clocked 1.5k km now. maybe the number will improve later. i think all 2.0 car will return with poor number when stucked in jam >.<How abt the fc or the fofo ah? Im comparing it with civic.. Will it be better than civic or worst or roughly same?? I usually stuck in jam for abt 1hr plus.... Is the dsg good for jam jam??? Im afraid of the gearbox too... as for the gearbox, some owner in the focus mk3 facebook report that the system inform them that the gearbox overheat. but the solution is quite simple. if stuck at one place for a long time, better shift the gear to N or P to prevent it to overheat. |

QUOTE(SuperKL2020 @ Jul 16 2013, 06:44 PM) Hiya fellow FoFo-lovers, 1) my new car also have the jerking problem but no such sound as you described. try clocking around 1k km. if the sound still there, better sent for diagnostic.Just to share my experience, I finally got my FoFo T+ from SDAC (Jln Ipoh) last Sat. I guess i was pretty lucky. I made my booking on 30 June and managed to get my car within 2 weeks. According to the SA, different dealers or sales office get different quota. So far i have only clocked 300km.. just a few newbie questions to ask.. 1) I have read that most fofo experience jerking/shuddering at low speed. Mine's pretty loud to the point its like a mild knocking sound.. Is it normal, or is that anything i can do other than to clock a higher mileage? 2) When the car is stationary, and there is nothing around the car. When i press the parking sensor button, sometimes it emit a solid beep tone and 2 red markers showing in front of car at the panel. This problem is intermittent and difficult to recreate and it seems to occur more often in stop and go traffic but it can happen anytime. Anyone has this problem? 3) Lastly, i realised this car comes with only 4 car mats, 2 in front, 2 back. It doesnt come with a centre mat for passenger seat. SA said no centre back mat. 2) i dont have the stated problem. have you check around the sensor area? maybe there are some build-up or anything around it. just my random guess. 3) are you referring to the coil mat or the fabric-like mat? my SA gives no free-gift so i dont have the coiled mat |

QUOTE(SuperKL2020 @ Jul 17 2013, 05:02 PM) On a side note, just did my tinting (Vkool + Solargard). Noticed that there are some bubbles. The tint guy says must wait 3-4 months for tint to cure.. then bubbles will automatically go away.. mine was tinted with starblaze 3m. no bubble even after application. however, the guy did say a bubble might appear but will disappear in a week time only. never heard of it taking that long to vanish.Must really wait that long??? |
