So far I have called up Maxis twice, and reconfirm again with them. Only need these for iPhone pick up:

1) I/C
2) Confirmation letter
3) Deposit receipt

*Those who registered for the phone under a supplementary line will need to bring along the principal line (with I/C) owner during collection.

Maxis will register the mobile # that you want to tie with their plan, but the catch is the mobile # must be registerED under your name. Same applied to Hotlink. No sim required but the number must be register under the buyer's name.

If you don't have a prepaid and do not want to buy a prepaid card, basically you can give the free data to your family members or friends by changing the prepaid register name to your name.

Changing of name is free but must be done in Maxis center. (The original owner must be there
to change the registered name)

- It comes with iOS 6.0.1

- No

> Can I jailbreak the iPhone?
- User's preference. Warranty will be void unless a full restore is done before sending it back for warranty

- A trade-in counter may be available at the launch event

> Can I use it with other telcos since it's unlock and any forumers using?
- Yes. There are forumers using on different telcos.

> Can I use it overseas?
- Yes, on officially unlocked 4/4S/5 iPhones. Place the simcard and and you're ready to use. You can use the services of various GSM based carriers around the world.

> Can I purchase iPhone 4/4S/5 from Maxis without subscribing to any sort of contracts?
- Yes. You can purchase your iPhone via Hotlink (Prepaid) plans. However, you must first be registered for a postpaid iPhone 4/4S/5 plan.

> Can I purchase iPhone 4/4S/5 from Maxis via the Hotlink plan but use it on my Maxis postpaid or on other telco (Digi, Celcom)?
- Yes. That's the beauty of official-unlock/outright purchase. However, the Hotlink plans do come with a free 500MB data usage per month, for a year. If you decided to use the phone on another plan or telco, you're basically 'dumping' the free data bundle that comes with it.

> I'm currently on Value Plan/Plus 50, 80, 150, 250, 500, can I switch to any of the iValue Plans and get the iPhone 4/4S/5 at subsidized price?
- Yes. Contact Maxis Customer Service or Maxis Centre for more details.

> I'm currently on Value Plan/Plus 50, 80, 150, 250, 500, can I subscribe to iValue and maintain my supplementary line(s)?
- Yes. You can still keep your supplementary line(s).

> I'm currently on Value Plan/Plus 50, 80, 150, 250, 500, can pair my current plan with iData and get the iPhone 4/4S/5 at subsidized price?
- Yes. Do choose from iData 30, 50 or 99 according to your preference or data usage pattern.

> I'm currently on a supplementary line. Can I switch to iValue on my own?
- No. You will need to request your principal line subscriber to book on your behalf.

> Can I pair any of the iValue and iData plans together?
- No. iValue is a standalone plan and iData can only be paired with Value Plan/Plus or any supplementary lines.

> I'm currently using an iPhone 2G/3G/3GS/4/4S/5 from Singtel/overseas, am I entitled to get the free 500MB data bundle per month if I have/get a Hotlink prepaid number from Maxis?
- No. You will need to have/get a Hotlink prepaid number and purchase an iPhone 4/4S/5 from Maxis to be entitled for the data bundle.

> Policy-wise it is not clearly spelled out, so some people may not do it. For those who will do it, by terminating the service (eg. iData 2) to assign a new one (eg. iData 3) will trigger the penalty to kick-in, which will require a waiver which will require approval.

> Is iData/iValue's 500MB/1GB data bundle sufficient for casual surfing?
- Yes. Based on feedback from few forummers, Facebook, YouYube, IM, Surfing, Apps download and updates take up roughly 500MB per month. Just an estimation though. If you're an heavy user on downloads and YouTube, do take up higher capacity data bundle.
(Note that the allocated data per month is fixed for every month and cannot be carried forward)

- From a reliable Maxis source, it is confirmed that even the Unlimited Data Plan for RM99 is also capped at 3GB, which means it's exactly the same as iData on the capped usage (3GB).

> What will be the data usage charges for all the iData plans if I've exceeded the free data bundle given?
- Additional usage will be charged at 0.5 sens/kb.

> Does the iValue plan includes any SMS usage?
- No. You will have to pay extra for any SMS you sent, 10 sens/SMS
(You can subscribe to RM8 SMS package from Maxis which allows you to send up to 500 SMS per month to Maxis numbers)

> I'm currently on Value Plus 50 and have supplementary lines on Family Plus 30, calls from main-supp, supp-main, supp-supp are free. If I switch to iValue, will I still able to enjoy free calls with my supplementary lines?
- Yes. With the new revised iValue plans, calls & SMS made to and from your supp lines will remain free. (subjected to Family Plus T&C) (UPDATED)

> What will be the call charges for all the iValue plans if I've exceeded the free minutes given?
- The call rates will be at a flat rate to all networks. (including to Maxis numbers)
- eg. iValue 1 (Free 333 minutes): Additional calls made to Maxis/other networks are 15 sens/min.

> How long is the warranty period for Maxis iPhone 4S/4?
- The warranty is up to 2 years from the date of purchase and cannot be extended. (ACPP might be available, to be confirmed)
(Even if your contract with Maxis is for 2 years, the warranty is valid for 2 years)

> What kind of damages does the warranty cover against?
- Just like the policy of any other mobile phone distributor, the warranty covers against any software/hardware failures and damages that are not self-caused or due to self-negligence. (eg. drops, water damages)
(Warranty will be void if you jailbreak your iPhone. Do a restore before sending in for warranty)

> If my iPhone is faulty, can I send in to Maxis and request for 1-to-1 exchange?
- In most cases, 1-to-1 is done for faulty sets. But you might need to wait if the specific centre don't have ready stocks. And take note that for the experience of past Maxis iPhone users, a refurbished set will be given for the exchange.

> I've just bought a used Maxis iPhone 4/4S/5. What do I need to do when I wanted to send in my phone to Maxis for warranty?
- To claim warranty you need the person who bought the iPhone which is under his/her name to be present. Requires I/C (of original owner) and warranty card.
*UPDATE: According to a personnel from Machines, having the Warranty Service Card is suffice for warranty purpose.(credits to tinkerbel)

- It all depends on your monthly usage of calls, SMS and data. Below are some recommendations:

Postpaid users
1. Utilise more calls than SMS per month, utilise data usage as well (substantial or not) and don't mind being contracted, go for iValue plans.

2. Would like to use your iPhone to do some casual surfing and don't mind being contracted, sign up for the iData plans, choose one which suits your data usage pattern most.

3. Utilise quite a substantial amount of data usage per month but not willing to being contracted under iValue or iData, you can get your iPhone via Hotlink, keep your current postpaid plan and subscribe to Maxis's RM99 Unlimited Data plan. (not under iData plan, but still capped at 3GB per month)

Prepaid users
1. You would still want to enjoy 500MB of data bundle every month for a year (without being contracted), get the iPhone under Hotlink plans.
> Get the Hotlink Youth Club simpack at RM8.80 if you're under 25 and you'll get 4 years validity (with minimum top up of RM10 per year) or
> Get a normal Hotlink simpack, subscribe to Hotlink 365 (maintain prepaid line validity for a year) for:
Subscription is RM33 (one time) + RM30 (min top-up within 1st 6 months) = RM63
**Both will ensure your prepaid line will be valid 24/7 to receive the 500MB data bundle!

3g logo disappeared .. and need to restart phone to get the logo back ..

Sounds like a common bug for now.

mine and my dad phone having the same problem ..
more over after disconnect with wifi , can detect back 3G connection

I dont think they throttle enough. Speed is just awsome! Now exceeding 300mb! Initially yesterday i thought maxis will starting to slow the speed by today. But as u can see from the speedtest the speed maintained!

I finally decide to get I5 even after reading a lot of negative comments bcs my 3gs got problem that why i have no choice to get it. I just want to confirm when i go into Maxis tmw to get a set if i see the set have scuff and not happy with it i can just reject that set, right?No problems???Maxis wont force me to take it.

Dont think is an IOS bug
I have used both celcom and U Mobile on mine unit - never faced such issues
Do not discount could be phone problem or simcard problem
Such issues is irritating if it occur - I can never accept these as normal

well, this is a commonly reported problem among in group of friends.

I don't really see an issue to be worried. It's just a commonly reported problem.

Besides, you said you are on Celcom, this is a Maxis discussion thread. I'm telling you its normal for a Maxis user to feel such minor problem. Even my fren on digi has to restart his phone occasionally when the 3G icon disappear when he drives.

Besides, it's not really something major to fuss with. When the next iOS update comes and it disappears, it proves the point. If not, let's all go exchange our sim cards and phones and see whether it changes or not.

Have you ever lost the 3G signal when you enter into a lift and after exiting the lift, it does not automatically come back and you need to restart the phone to get it back?

I would like to share my experience in resolving 3G signal lost using Maxis latest carrier update 13.2

I have this irritating issue which even after network reset is also not consistent. Then, after reading few feedback in MacRumors with regards to this issue, I have decided to restore my phone via iTunes as a fresh new phone. I get all the contact back up from iCloud.

Now, it has been a week since I performed the recommendation approach and I could say it is perfect. I dont have to toggle the airplane mode or restart or hard reboot the phone anymore.

Anyone of you may want to consider this approach which perhaps working fine to solve your issues. It is not a guarantee it will 100% resolved the issue but at least it did to me.

I had to sign the agreement form that indicated that I received the phone in good condition at the payment counter. After that, I had to go to another counter to get the nano sim card. While I was there, the person told me that if there were minor scratches, no replacement would be made on the spot unless it affected functionality. Just pray hard that you get a near to perfect set!

But if i'm not happy with the set can Maxis return my money or give me new set b4 i sign that paper???

Well, previously asked Maxis CS on the capped speed and they said it will be throttled to 1/3 of normal speed. So yours should be a fine example, since mine can get 15Mbps when still unthrottled.

Good news for Maxis customers then. Even the capped speed is equivalent to the Unifi speed already. I just hope that people don't bombard the network with torrents and torrents. Well, I know ISPs should be neutral regardless of type of traffic, but then let's just say that we shall never let them to have an excuse to throttle us further.

I did not want to make any hassle with him, so I signed it, and when to the other counter to get the nano sim card and also prayed super hard there wouldn't be any scuffs. However, mine does have a slight rattling sound when you shake the phone real hard, I have no qualms with that however.

Maybe you could get your way if you were to be much more persistent/insistent than I was?

I thought the same as well, but as I looked at another payment counter, I saw another guy opening the box at the payment counter, so I may have just been silly not to open it at the payment counter or the other staff member at the other payment counter was kind enough to let that customer open it. I walked in into Northam Tower last Saturday at 10 AM. They had stock for 16GB black which was that I wanted. I did ask if they had 32GB, and they said no.

I did a booking the day before at QB, but still no call from them till now (and thats including tweeting @MaxisListens to book one for me at QB). It's 16GB black. I was rushing a bit for time as I had to be else where so I did not make a fuss about signing it first, but like I said, being insistent could get your way hehe.

anyone sent their iphone 5 for 1-to-1 exchange? i just bought mine but i've found out there's a rattling issue inside of the phone.

I was told by the sales rep at Maxis Sunway Pyramid that there's no 1-to-1 exchange. is it true?

What I can see from the Maxis website is only MayBank can sign for 24 months EPP.

who had successfully activated & USED maxis visual voicemail (VVM) ? any tips/guide on that? i've activated but yet unable to use the VVM. (activated & deactivated many times)

Just got my ip5 from midvalley maxis roadshow.
Got problem already - when i turn on edge or 3g, bi internet access although i can see the E and 3G icon at the top. Anyone encounter this? I'm gonna call maxis tomorrow but got a bad feeling its not telco (since got E and 3G icon)

Aiya urs white set also got scuff ar? Even the second set have a scratch. Izzit maximum they can open 2 new set only? Did you complain about ur 2nd set? If you wanted to change another one, would they? Bcs paying 2k for it I would be very unhappy if my set is not perfect.

At first the Visual Voicemail doesn't show up though, clicked VM and it just dialled 121. Then I've tried leaving myself a message to my iPhone number, now it works.

is there anybody know how to make the home button or other button become malfunction?
