Chrome after the update today is working better now. Tested whole day no hang or whatsoever.

after playing around with this phone for 2 hours ++ and i notice that the battery is damn good!! and i also notice this phone is damn fast....compare to note 1 custom JB this is damn better 3 fold.!!!

i have actually tried clear the cache and still my messaging apps does not working. . I don't remember doing something with the app...
Now so sad..T_T
Maybe I need to soft reset my note 2... can someone help me with this. ..

from the specs it is just slightly but when i put my old Note and new Note II side by side, Note II really looks much slimmer. Our eyes really can be deceiving. biggrin.gif

My battery life today

I notice my battery life characteristic changed

when 100% drop very fast but when it reaches 30% and below very slow to drop

S3 kept for daily usage but with Nexus 4 coming..most probably gonna give it a try. If it's good then gonna dump S3 and use Nexus as my new daily usage phone.

Just found out..when you plug in the stereo head phone..the main theme will change to multi media player theme..top window music player and bottom window video player and the bottom button change to media player short cut button..when you unplug the head phone..it will back to normal theme..

I dun FB much so i mainly just login from browser. Stock browser is not as smooth or user friendly for me compared to dolphin and chrome.

Hmm, looking at your CPUSpy report, it seems that there is some usage time not fully accounted for. But if you were playing games, it's quite telling that the CPU isn't at all taxed very much, since only around 20mins was spent at 1600MHz.

Samsung seems to have optimized Android very well for this beast machine. All activities are taking place at 1400MHz and below.

However, I do notice that your daily usage graphs show a very distinct triangular shape meaning that the rate of discharge is fairly constant.

On mine, with very very little use, the discharge rate seems to be about 25-30% within 8 hrs, then when I hit LYN ( icon_idea.gif ) the rate drops faster. Today, with 2h45m SOT, I'm still at 52% after 13hrs unplugged.

Damn good.

My hootz today at Holiday Plaza, RM23, valy cheap...

Was finding the whole mall for a flip case that has padding, no magnet, doesn't need to to remove the back casing...

All the more deserving for Samsung since they took it from the bottom up.
They achieved all this via traditional methods, and did not need to rely on any so-called "iconic" personality that projected a reality distortion field whereby inferior features were swallowed as "magical" and "only we can do this".

chrome just got new update yesterday...but still not yet try...chrome really hard for me to surf desktop mode on facebook...sometime quite frustrating ...haha....prefer dolphin and stock browser thumbup.gif

I want to ask if anyone has played with any NFC apps. Samsung's AppStore has a couple, and I loaded up something called NFC Taginfo.

It CAN READ OUR PASSPORT and a variety of other tap-to-beep cards like door entry, parking etc.
I'm sure other apps have a WRITE function...

I am using the same case, same color. Sold by the guy who I bought my phone from @ RM20. Just using it temporarily.

Did you notice that the top part, its hard to reach the top of the phone , in order to cover it?

Try NFC Task Launcher . You need to get some writable NFC tags.

You phone can detect passport, mykad, touchngo card, Rapid KL token, Mastercard Paypass but cannot write on any of them.

NFC Retag or Anytag NFC Launcher are useful in this case.

In regards to your question, yes no Radio nothing from Samsung. You just need to find the flashable zip and flash it and you have them back. A bit leceh but if you are hardworking, you can mod the rom to have everything that you want only.

Pretty cool but VERY time consuming.

The top part fit close easily n fake usually no cut out for the usb port. Fake is pu leather not genuine leather

benny, i got myself the note 2 after your convincing lol. but my note 2 is running hot. definitely hot, comparable to note 2, if only sleightly better. battery still testing it out (my better battery stats seems to be going bonkers a bit). when u mentioned your device runs cold, u on any particular kernel/rom?

Your unit has problem if you feel is hot
No difference on whether stock or custom roms
What is your temperature like - should be averaging 28 idle to 38 degree C in use

BASEBAND VERSION n7100dxalj1, what is updated in this update?
and i feel that the battery drain alot faster? and how do i reverse the update?

People need to learn to NOT look at baseband version because that is just your modem version. The rom version is in the BUILD NUMBER.

been using it for about 3 weeks...one issue bothering me very much....it got hang about 4-5times black screen..it happen when i put in my pocket traveling out..I seldom go out recently due to my newborn......is like, i go out 8 times..4-5times when i take out my N2 it show blankscreen ..then i need to hard reboot it....

i disabled most of the motion feature like the 'Quick Glance' ...will it cause by the bluetooth??? cos i turn it on to auto connect to my car audio as hand free..any sifu can advice or anyone experience this before????

What is a simple way to do an on-the-spot testing whether the NFC works fine, when i purchase the phone? Just place mykad at the cover, or do i need to click any setting? Thank you.

This will be useful when buying the ori flip cover too.

Add: also for the USB On The Go, if i connect it one side to the phone and another to laptop, i should be able to transfer files using windows explorer (laptop) right? applicable to both internal and external storage?

if there's an NFC app, it will launch that app. I'm not sure if there's a default app in Note II.
If possible, you can download app like NFC Tag Info and launch the app before you tap your mykad/touchngo

It depends entirely on your taste and needs. I kinda like the Nillkin hard case. Most likely will settle on it. Initially thinking to use it temporarily and wanted to get those flip case like my previous SGP Valentinus for Note.

Please download NFC Tag Info app, at least you can read some info out of them.

Now, about the passport, this is interesting. I never try this as I do not have the newer eMRTD passport, the older ones are not readable.

Try use the app above and see if you can read out passport info. You might have to key in basic info like passport number, birth date, passport expiry date.

Better break the seal and check EVERYTHING was there and working perfectly especially the phone..while you still in the shop. Once you step out from there..you can say bye bye for any 1 to 1 replacement policy (phone) if any defects found later on

I find Samsung keyboard one of the most complete in terms of swiping, typing, writing, prediction and language. Like an all in one keyboard.

I dont know. Maybe i am just old school. Haha swype is great and ben using it. Just that not used to it. Somewhat small and...not really a fan of swype.

Dont get me wrong, rom is great and battery life is crazy. Just that i am lazy and prefer go back to somr stock feel (hinting to try monx)...haha

Yup, was able to read my passport info, including the pic. Need to enter passport number, date of birth and expiry date for the key to be generated. There was a beep for my Touch n Go card too, but unable to read anything

Yeah I checked a couple of Samsung outlets, and they don't seem to have any in stock yet.

Also, the S Pen keeper function on the Note 2 (mine at least) did jackshit in telling me that the stylus was not attached to it until 24 hours later rclxms.gif

Basically, flip cover without nfc chip would be cheaper and you can't transmit data over other device. If flip cover with nfc chip, you can transmit data over other device. With nfc chip is slightly expensive. Most of the flip cover in market need to remove the original back cover and replace with the flip cover back cover. The official from samsung comes from nfc chip if not mistaken.

just install omega v6 rom..
- install back stock boot and shutdown screen..
- install perseus 25.4 kernel..
- transparent multi window.

not much different with v5..
still cannot feel smoother than ARHD rom..

Hmm, have been using cm10 since yesterday... some small comments....

-everything works flawlessly. had a few issues with the first build, but the only "issues" with the first build but the only issue with the second build is slow toggling from rear camera to front cam, so practically flawless I would say.

-scrolling is smoother than stock, especially YouTube.really nice, but unfortunately all kinds of 2d animation such as the transition animation is very laggy, really annoying since this phone is generally smooth everytime haha.

battery is good from the start, even without a full charge cycle. And now I've been playing a few minutes with 3g on, and the batt still 100% if s2 now 98% ready laugh.gif

So far very satisfied with stock rooted cobdition. Everything works perfectly as intended. Guess I'll need some time until some uber crazy custom rom comes out. And the battery life is simply amazing. Playing asphalt 7 for 1hour, only 10 percent drop.

Erm...reasons is (maybe), been doing like what you said since day one. I am no tech geek so some things i didnt remove it as worry got issue down the road. Using slim rom is great as they are totally slim. Only problem is that i still use some samsung apps and thus, create a bit of issue for me. Not a big problem as need to search around for those apps needed and flash back.

And slim rom doesnt work well with samsung apps restore which makes life a bit interesting lol.

I know...i am just too free or over android-ing

I'm on stock rom..no worries any unwanted files.
Only worry is the thumbnails videos cache that take quite some space silently in my internal storage. The thumbnails cache files is hidden and cannot be found in MyFiles. I delete those and get back my 3.6GB internal storage space. But the thumbnails slowly regenerate again. Any way to stop the animation in stock video player..?

Just installed monxdified rom..
Woh..very smooth..smoother than omega full rom..
Semi light rom..
Install Android keyboard extract from omega rom using root explorer.-no fc.
Try to install accuweathet widget- fc
Will use this rom for a while..

hi.. i have a few questions to ask.

1.
as the page 1 mention, the hissing sounds from charger is not normal.
so what should we do?
Go samsung center and request to change the charger? any problem if our device is AP or SME?

2.
I got my note 2 from digi. They told me they have register the online warranty things for me. Should i seek any evidence that they have done the registration?

ep-630 is already bad now? how much u bought your soundmagic earphone? i always consider my ep-630 is the best already haha..

if no different i would use stock earphone as it offer extra buttons..(received calls..etc.. ttpod even allow "next & previous song"" feature)

Thanks. I'm aware of the security in contactless payment cards. However, tag emulation will be good for all the other cards.

The small small hold is good for heat ventilation. No dust after use 2 weeks. Even got, just blow it will clean.

iDefence Pro, I used this before when I bought my SGS2.

Too bad the result is not as good as promise. The film start to turn yellowish and also start to collect dust...

In the end, I remove it from my SGS2 within few months.

I think the download cancels when the processor goes into deep sleep...maybe keep a wakelock?

hi.. i have a few questions to ask.

1.
as the page 1 mention, the hissing sounds from charger is not normal.
so what should we do?
Go samsung center and request to change the charger? any problem if our device is AP or SME?

2.
I got my note 2 from digi package. They told me they have register the online warranty things for me. Should i seek any evidence that they have done the registration? Is there any problem in the future in warranty in case our phone is not register by them?

If ap, send to the shop you buy and ask to change. If sme set can change at sc.

Once registered,you will grt an sms from sasung stating the date of the warranty. Could tske up to one week to receive it.

Good idea, but if he is using 3G, then jialat. However if he is using the office wifi, the network admin might block some sites...

All I can suppose is to keep some kind of wakelock, easiest is a screen wakelock with some kind of pdf reader software (ezpdf does this).

Can try?

Nvm yesterday i left 65% so i use data. Flashed at about 6am with full wipe.

Guys, what's the best way to root? From what I've gathered, it seems to be CF-Auto-Root v1.0. However, I'm a bit sceptical with the various reports of the flash counter having issues.

There is no best method. CF auto root is fine
Just use triangle away app to remove flash counter
If you are in doubt n worry than don't root
And for your assurance 99% of the time Samsung service center never bother about rooted flashed phones

Thanks for your assurance. I've had some experience with rooting (Incredible S during the gold card phase), but I feel this time around I more sayang my new phone, so I wanna be more sure of what I'm about to do tongue.gif

Anyone facing wi-fi connection problem? my note 2 connected to wifi even overnight but somehow at midnight ( while i sleeping), somebody tried to call me via Line but keep on failed de? what setting or thing happened har? seems its dont have connectivity while i not touch the phone? @@

I checked already, it shown always o, thats mean not this problem....however, i noticed that my wifi signal detection like weird weird, it should be strong signal but can be suddenly drop to 1 bar strength then cant access internet @@ When i use mobile data no problem at all....gosh

Hi guys,
Im really new to Android since Note 2 is my 1st android phone (i juz have bought it for 2 days). I have some questions that really need the answers.
-When i hold the home button, there is a garbage icon so what is the function of this one?
-In the task manager, there are 2 options that i really dont know what is the difference which are "end the active application" and "clear ram"?

if im not mistaken got 4 colors for different events :
RED = Charging
GREEN = Charged
BLUE (Slow Blinking) = Booting
BLUE (Fast Blinking) = SMS/MSG

on a side note anyone rooted with the chainfire CF method? i manage to root it, then proceed with the triangle away apk by chainfire as well, but it shows me a "1", which initially was a "2"

anyone manage to bring the flash counter back to "0"?

tried changing the colors, but doesnt seem to change the notification color, kept on giving me green from the previous settings, is there like a test app which can run through all the led colors?

Gentleman. I need your help. I have both mobile data and wifi. Will the phone prioritize to run wifi when available? Cause I notice it still pulling data from my 3g. Iphone is able to do this without any modifications.

yea WIFI priority over 3G and how to confirm this just unplug the telephone line you notice even 3G connected the page dont load even still connected to your WIFI router

Thanks guys. Just to share for new comers who are migrating from ios to Android.

download a free app on the iphone called 'my contacts backup'. Its a really easy program, you just click 'backup' then 'email', send it your own email address (i sent it to my gmail address), open the email and open the.vcf attachment on your android phone and it will import your contacts.

Maybe some of you did mention on the earlier post.

thanks for sharing but at the moment google account once you sync it will be backup. You can access all this contacts from your gmail contacts account. Future u just need sign in to another android phone your contact will auto sync.

i don't recommend to tick all la... esp enable gpu rendering.. its a permanent tweak.. it can't be unchecked in the developer options(even though it shows unchecked).. might have problem with older apps. ext4 tweak.. can somtimes cause random reboot.... dont really like this...

yeah.. but i never sync my contacts with google and never connect my phone to itunes. most of my contacts are either in exchange server or in the phone. well anyway, it's good to know google sync is also a good way of backing up.

This phone is a beast. Last time I need to browse in landscape and still cannot enjoy the surfing experience. now in GN2 the real estate is awesome. no need to change to landscape, portrait display is way sufficient to display everything. Now trying out all the features.. no plans to root yet.

Not necessary. I never bother moving among roms
Select wipe data as last resort in recovery mode again if you have reboot or many FC issues

Dont use the resolution off the web . Set it back stock and try opening . It will show a message " unsupported resolution **** x *** " ......... Use that value to change the folder , 5 files total if it's still the same as X5

ARHD 4.0 + stock kernel + bloatware removed ----- prettty smooooothhhh

im skeptical about sharpness fix on perseus kernel... can't really compare coz im using a matte sp over the display... i know i know... it's fugy .. im still waiting for my case... spigen...

Even without matte sp fugging it up more, you need a MICROSCOPE to tell the pixels a part....so is it a placebo?

I remember seeing that Samsung keyboard swype is affected by app services in accessibility setting. Dunno if it is the same for the Google keyboard.

sharpness fix is an old thing...
note 2's display, on default, is crisp,clear, bright and white is whiter!!!

I wonder if over time, the credit cards that jut out will leave a kind of ghost impression on the screen? This is because the cards are touching the screen directly.

BTW, what theme are you using? Nice clean icons.

A weird thing happen to my note 2..

Was playing game and then trying to close the game..return to homescreen..

After that hang a while the phone restart itself..then boot in only can see status bar..hang a while again..phone wont boot anymore..take out battery and boot again still same..unable to boot in recovery..

Reach service center..phone able to boot in..but binary counter is 1 and phone status is modified..unable to check update..

After that decide to factory reset while waiting..phone status back to normal and able to check update..

Anyone face this weird problem before?

Yup..they resetting everything back again.
If totally cannot power on..had to leave the phone there. Same if you still having the same problem again after this trip. They will hold your phone for more extensive checkup.

hmm always keep a stock .tar firmware frm samfirmware... any problem that u cannot rectify using factory setting can be possibly sovled by flashing stock firmware via odin...

2 days ago i screwed up my wifi ... firmware basefiles kena d... flash stock rom.. problem fixed

Should be basefiles corrupted or motherboard..actually this is my bro damn new phone..i dont want to flash..everything keep as stock as possible..flash through odin will effect the binary counter right?

The button is hidden at the back while it is closed, which is the main reason why I got it. Makes it look more of a guy's case. brows.gif

From what I understand, the RM200 is only for SPECIFIC shops, so if they were to insist and selling it at RRP, with the RM200 off... it would still be RM2099

But of course, it's just speculation. I don't see why need to wait as there is gonna be lot's of T&C.
Just get a good deal from lelong, the directd guy is selling at very reasonable price and his reputatio, from what i observed it's quite legit.

If wanna go for 36months 0%, SenQ is good, no charges. Can partially use treatpoints (if you are a maybank cc holder)

Ask u guys. Regarding the stolen set of note 2. Will samsung manage to rrace if the ujit was activated? I means thr moment they start register google acct and use....even if not yet e wareanty register? ? Samaung got such tecnology?
