what is the latest day someone got the 20% curve dining cash back? I only dare to spend on the 1st day because I feel like no way the pot can last for more than 1day.

You can pay via Interbank GIRO from other banks (charges range from RM0.50 to RM2)

thanks ronnie for your reply.
it's better to use Basic Saving account for the payment. it's RM0.50 for first 2 interbank transfer of the month. meaning 50 sen +50 sen for 2 transaction.

Looking at my statement makes me wonder how you guys can pinpoint which of the transactions give 1% rebate... I have some given 1% rebate but I have no idea at all which of those made it to 1% rclxub.gif Well.. I do have few suspects in mind though..

i) Can any of the member confirm if transaction made in Fah Lian Herbs and Foods gives 5% rebate as stated on the first page under groceries?
ii) Does reloading prepaid phone via Digi Centre in Garden gives 5%?

Thank you

As i said in another thread, i wasn't aware of any credit card that is not associated with MAS that gives you free access to MAS Golden Lounge, be it in Malaysia, Singapore, London or anywhere in the world where MAS is operating their own airport lounge. And it is no different with this OCBC TMC either.

You need fly in MAS Business Class, First Class, be an Enrich Gold Status member or above to get invited into MAS Golden Lounge. Very soon, OneWorld Gold Status member (and above) will be able to use MAS Golden Lounge too. Alternatively, if you have the CIMB Enrich World MasterCard, you'll be given two Golden Lounge vouchers a year which you can use to enter MAS Golden Lounge. Hope this clears.

Guys, I have 1 question to ask

I applied for OCBC CC Titanium at The Curve on April. I was told by the agent that I will get 1st year GST waived if I apply from The Curve. Looking at my 1st month statement, there is no waiver for GST. They still charge RM50.

Do they waive it the 1st month, or will it be the 2nd month? Thx for all the sifu clarification first smile.gif

okay i am about to pay streamyx bill via TM Online. One thing that rose my curiosity. Does the address details need to be the same as billing details of the streamyx bill?

My OCBC Ti is currently tagged my home address as my hometown in Seremban and my current streamyx bill is belong to KL's home.

Do I entitled for the 5% rebate? Please enlighten me if anyone tried on this before. Am about to settle bills thru OCBC Ti smile.gif

billing address does not matter. only merchant. besides neither tm nor ocbc has visibility on the address of your CC vs your bill.

2nd month

Well, I only appealed once but somehow I think my agent didn't help me to follow up and I was also busy due to work commitment. So, I'm not sure how this thing was stuck since 17th April 2012!
Then, I have decided to call them up one fine Friday and got my approved the following Monday. biggrin.gif

Is the 20% cashback still on this week? Planning to go Starbucks The Curve to reload my card this weekend.

Seems good to me. I applied mine like 2 weeks ago through an agent and I called the CS and my status is Pending for documents. Do I need to wait for something from the bank side? I am wondering how are they going to contact me about this issue.

By the way, it this program offers the same benefits as the current Titanium card? No extra special feature tongue.gif ?

You got two choice, first call up CS and ask what documents. then email the documents to them
OR
wait for their snail mail stating which documents they want.

tongue.gif I rather choose the first one.

If you don't have CCRIS record for a whole FULL year, don't put high hope on Citibank CC application. Agent from Citibank told me that, those applicant without 1 year CCRIS record will auto reject, you can try to ask at those Citibank Kiosk, this new rule effective last month.

yah, the agent also told me something in a similar mold...but doesn't that mean Citibank will lose out on those who are new to the workforce if they adhere to such a policy?
I'll admit I'm new to the workforce, new but not that new, been working for 2 years already, for my case for sure I won't have any records anywhere lol

I still didn't receive the pin number and called to OCBC CS just now, they will resend again.

Managed to check my statement date and due date with the guy.

Statement date: 13th of the month
Due date: 1st of the following month

I tried to change my due date because I'll use GIRO and usually pay my CC at one shot when my salary is out at the end of the month but the guy said once I change it I'll lose all the promotions for my Titanium... sad.gif

The GST is already charged to my card by the way...

I don't know... Probably the buy 1 free 1 at GSC, the 20% at The Curve? I didn't ask much.
In the end, I didn't change it also.
So, I can't have heavy transaction for my OCBC Ti. laugh.gif

That's not very very true.
Changing Statement Date does not affect any OCBC promotions. You don't get selected promotion because you do not match their criteria.

Is it? Let me call again tomorrow and hopefully another person picks up my call and I'll ask the same thing again.
TBH, to have due date on every month's 1st is very inconvenient for me. Thanks for the heads-up. biggrin.gif

Not sure with OCBC but for MBB, it's allowable. I believe it's just a small matter.

Hmmm, sorry to ask: Isn't having due date on 1st of month meeting your objective of "pay my CC at one shot when my salary is out at the end of the month"? Why would it be "inconvenient"? I am in the same boat as you. So I pay a couple of days before due date which is end of month after my pay is out. smile.gif

At this moment, as a contract staff, my salary will be out only on the 29th. I use GIRO, and it needs time to transfer the fund to OCBC. For small value of amount, I don't mind to pay earlier but what if it is a huge amount? I might need my salary to cover up a little bit. smile.gif Not too common though, after 3 years of using CC, not even once I need my salary to cover up. Just in case. biggrin.gif
Anyway, I'll be converted to permanent staff and my salary will be out every month's 20th or 1-2 days earlier.
Guess, I'll need to bear with it for temporarily if I decide not to change the statement date eventually. smile.gif

i'm planning to get my statement day delay by one or two days too...

I've 2 insurance policy that are billed quarterly, it's a pain in the arse that both got billed on the same statement month, one of them billed on the last day of my statement doh.gif

btw, anyone know how to opt for not receiving hard copy statement? at this age, i'm more and more conscious on reducing paper usage, and those statement really as of no use to me, every month tore them up and throw them away makes me feel bad...

i've already disabled most of my monthly expenses that send me statement, left ocbc only...

Don't change fruitie. Your ocbc statement date is 13th and your Mbb is month end and this is the perfect combination for a better spending management and planing to max up the rm50 cash back for each card.
Just give a thought over this question:
You want 30+13 days to plan your spending and max up rm100 cash back or you want a shorter 30 day to max up rm100 cashback for both cards?

Nice thought... I have similar thinking for a while too...just for sharing...

I listed 3 objectives for consideration:
1. ease of monthly expenses analysis
2. full payment of cc statement after payday
3. available cash rebates round the month

My thinking of the above 3 objectives:
1. I feel like having all my cc statement date as month end to ease monthly expenses analysis as all expenses are total by each calendar month. smile.gif

2. If all my cc due date just a few day after my payday. This will maximise cashflow. I use to hold some amount, says 2-3k after payday waiting to clear the cc due at mid next month. This end up keeping fund in low yielding saving acct; as compare to moving due date to after payday. Then I can put that 2-3k into FD or other higher yielding vehicle. So, at each payday, after clearing all cc and withdraw cash for use of the coming month, I put all balance into FD or other higher yielding vehicle than the payroll acct. rclxm9.gif

3. Now that i have mbb cash back end at monthend (which cant be changed) and ocbc cash back end at 12 of month, which probably a nice cross over between the 2. e.g. if I max out mbb RM50 by mid month, then I have ocbc just recresh by 13 of month; if I max out ocbc by end month, I got my mbb refresh from 1st of month onwards...cool cross-over, huh? icon_idea.gif

After several iteration of thought, I put the priority as follow:
1. full payment of cc statement after payday -> maximize cashflow
2. available cash rebates round the month -> feel great to have cash back most of the time
3. ease of monthly expenses analysis -> analyse from current statement date to next statement date

At the end i choose to have all cc due date at month end just after my payday. just my 2 cents... icon_rolleyes.gif

In that case, you don't even need to change date. Giro can be cleared in the next day if u transfer it in the morning. Also, ocbc allows 5 days grace without penalty interest charge after the due date.

Beginning of every calendar mth, i will only use amex as 1st priority card and ocbc is backup card. When the amex cash back max up, ocbc takes over amex for the 5% cash back merchant only till rm50 max up.

There is no official policy on this from ocbc. I discovered it from my own experience with ocbc when my payment was late by 5 days n no late payment penalty charged to my account. Similar to Citibank, it gives 7 days grace after due date. I guess ocbc should be 7 days too.
Pls try it at your own "risk" to give a second confirmation account on this matter in this thread. icon_rolleyes.gif

hey fruitie,

i called the CS just now too.

yeap, only hardcopy statement is available now...want to disable pun tak boleh, not that i want opt for my statement to be emailed doh.gif

on the "not getting promotion" if change statement date, the CS clarified that you just dun get the promotion brochures/leaflets together with ur statement by mail, like what we usually get, however you are still eligible for those promotions.

If you are refering to the 5% rebate for dining/petrol/utilities/groceries, yes it is a permanent feature subject to RM50 cap per statement month.

I think better to have 2.
OCBC max is RM1000 for RM50 rebate.
then later use MAYBANK one if overspent.
Provided you able to use your cards more times to waived the annual fees.

OCBC max is RM1000 for RM50 rebate.
then later use MAYBANK one if overspent.
Provided you able to use your cards more times to waived the annual fees.

I think sovietmah was referring to maximum spend of RM1000 per statement month to earn maximum RM50 rebate cap per month.

ya i am referring that, i think is min RM1000 right? Since the maximum rebate is 5%. and possible to be 1%.
so at least i need to spend RM1000 to entitle the max RM50 rebate?

How long does it take for the card to arrive at the mailbox once it is approved? I checked at CS just now and finally got approved.

Lucky as this is my first credit card and worked for a year plus after grad.

Latest Update
The Carrefour - Tropicana City Mall falls under the 5% Cash-back rebate for Groceries (now using MCC Code 5411).

Just called to verify the details with the OCBC Customer Service.

p.s. still should have used my AMEX instead to get ~7.5% cash-back

Anyone else having this same problem as me?

I registered Telekom Malaysia as a registered payee.

But when I select the bill payment to own account / registered payee, I dont see it there as an option. However when i go to the edit payee options, i see it there.

Got my OCBC TMC today, last 2 weeks apply through agent "the curve" waived RM50 but need pay first then 2nd month only get rebate.
Got their call to verify on last week.
From apply until get the card, around 2 weeks only, really efficient.
Also, got much higher credit limit than current cc i have such as MBB, SCB, HLB & PBB, really surprisingly

I guess the card still on que for approval/decline status.

Applied exactly last 2 weeks through our forumer OCBC's agent. Only yesterday OCBC card center call ask for agent's name and to confirm that I applied the card. I just call the center and the machine said " card is under processing". Hope everything will go through to enjoy free 1+1 GSC's ticket. rclxm9.gif

By the way, can TS edit the OCBC hotline number. You lack one zero (0) at the end of the phone number.

Got my card finally rclxm9.gif First card and first time apply, semi-fresh grad smile.gif.

It took about 3 weeks from application till card arrival. The delay part was at the pending document as the agent didn't inform me that I need to submit a document.

Activation is pretty direct. Now waiting for the PIN to arrive. Any idea usually how long it takes to reach?

My PIN took more than 14 days, during my 11th day, I felt something amiss. Called them up, they resent again. My mum just received it today.
I will register mine later. biggrin.gif
Oh and the first PIN came only on Wednesday but too bad the new PIN will supersede the old PIN.
So be patient. biggrin.gif

They can't really reveal the rejection reason, so I think the best thing you could do is to appeal now.

For the SMS Transaction alert limit, is there a minimum amount for it?

I read around and seems like there is no minimum amount. I prefer a SMS alert for every transaction I use.

Too bad there is no alert for online using 3D secure site.

I did open the link and it shows the pdf file. I saw the min is RM500. I wanted lower but I am uncertain if there is a hard limit minimum threshold amount.

Sigh. Guess I call the CS and ask them. I read the FAQ and there is no mention about it.

Called OCBC's CS.
They approved my application on 30th May 2012. According to CS, they will send my card via normal mail within 8-10 days after my card approved. After received the card, I need to call them to activate the card. Is that the normal way?

For April that one, the rebate is there after 12th (statement date) of may, so in actuality it only affect the amount I pay for end of June.

So for June's transaction, I guessing it will be appear after 12th of July, which affect the amount I pay end of August.

hi guys, im considering which credit card to apply at the moment.

i just started working for 1.5 month, but i am still eligible to apply for OCBC Ti rite ? as the website only stated latest 1 month salary slip is required not the usual 3 months for other banks.

currently have a sup card from citibank but gonna apply for another one for personal use. my common monthly usage would be 300-400 on petrol, 300-400 on f&b, will be using it for astro, digi, tm (about 500) auto billing to enjoy the 5% cash back. so basically OCBC Ti is the most suitable card for me instead of maybank/uob rite ? thanks

oh ya, any ocbc booth that is giving out free gifts for new application at the moment ? but free gifts could be just sling bag/thermos/umbrella right ? laugh.gif

Not to manage but simply to add it into M2U system so you can choose to pay for any bills via M2U that accept VISA or MasterCard using the added card issued by any other banks in Malaysia.

I think most cc also got charge admin charge for oversea transaction. At least every cc that I go thru.

I think e-billing mainly meant that u receive ur bill electronically. Nothing to do with payment method.

OCBC quite slow in updating transaction in their internet banking portal. Use my card for GSC & dining last Friday but still didn't update in their internet banking portal. Called CS and they confirm the transaction.

The CS also inform me just know that I will get further 5% (not normal 5% rebate) for all phone bill payment through their portal. However, the 5% will only update on August or September statement. Can anyone heard about this?

Also change my billing date statement from 1st of every month to 8th. Accoding to CS, I can change since I haven't got any bank statement from them.

The OCBC Online Banking will show the transaction after it's been posted.
But the Available Credit Limit is very up-to-date.... even for unposted transactions

Is there a special additional 5% rebate for Phone Bill payment ??? haven't heard this before.

The cap is RM20 per month or the whole promotion ?
RM20 bonus rebate at 5% is only RM400 of bill payment.

BUT TM Bill cannot pay via OCBC Bill Payment with OCBC Credit card.

You should try paying TM bill using OCBC Titanium through OCBC internet banking now. thumbup.gif thumbup.gif
Just done TM bill payment but must be careful filling up the account number. There is no other information except account number.
It can be done better by adding phone number or name at least.

OT: one should still getting auto billing rebate even after the card terminated. tongue.gif

Does the Phone Bill = Only Bill? (Call charges & Data Package?)
or is it includes the payment for the Phone payment as well (which pay-ed on 12 or 24 month easy payment)?

I applied since MAY 16. not yet approved.
Below is my email

Me: I would like to know the status of my application, got rejected?
OCBC: Regard your application is still in progress. Now is the final stage to waiting the higher management to approve your application. I will get to you once the status come out.

I don't think there is any problem with my credit scoring

I applied since MAY 16. not yet approved.
Below is my email

Me: I would like to know the status of my application, got rejected?
OCBC: Regard your application is still in progress. Now is the final stage to waiting the higher management to approve your application. I will get to you once the status come out.

I don't think there is any problem with my credit scoring

After 1 month still processing? That's way too long man. Normally 2 weeks will get the card after submit.

Unless the 3rd party can guarantee u application is going to be successful.

Thank god, just get to know that my card was finally approved....hope the card is on its way now.

such a long process of doing it.

Thanks for the sample email from the TS.
Thanks for fruitie for the advice.

No offence to other agent , but if you apply thru agent make sure you get a good ones.. as my agent didnt bother to give me a shit and lead me thru the wrong way and i did all the appeal by myself.

Perhaps getting a 'ngam' and nice CS is important as well.

I think you need to follow up with the agent. Or maybe call OCBC customer service to get your status application. I applied on 14th May and my application approved on 30th May.

But the Available Credit Limit is very up-to-date.... even for unposted transactions

Is there a special additional 5% rebate for Phone Bill payment ??? haven't heard this before.

Dude, they are other expenses not in the 5% button 1% which is essential in life.

Insurance, normal family outings, car service and maintenance, bla bla bla. Even dining or outing once in awhile with partner and family is understandable.

Not to mention, some of us might help to pay for utility for parents, sibling, spouse and so on.

Perhaps u never did those, not even occasion outing, staying in ur cave. Or u r foreveralone or a introvert, caring not on other ppl in ur life.

No wonder u cannot grasp the concept of using cc to save money. Go on. Pls continue using cash. Peace.

Ok, example: in one household, TNB 400-500, TM Streamyx 180-200, FAMILY CELCOM & MAXIS 500-600, WATER 20-50, IWK 20, ASTRO 150.
That would easily cost RM1000. You do not have such commitment perhaps your dad and mom pay it for you.

So your CC would just use for petrol, dining, shopping, redbox, etc.

I rarely shopping.

Petrol i will fill on weekend via MBB2 AMEX, the overflow of 1k all charge to MBB MASTERCARD.

i paid mine using m2u interbank giro. as i have Basic Saving Account that allowed me to do the transaction with only RM0.50 per giro transfer, limited to twice RM0.50 transaction per month, the 3rd transaction will be RM2 in general.

Just giro to the account number of your credit card number 16 digits then you're good to go smile.gif

*
Sorry to disappointing u, I already moved out and have my own family.
So, your assumption "perhaps" is not right.

actually all spent should go to MBB Amex when possible (even after 1k) as it is still 5x points while the mastercard is only 1x.

The Unbilled transaction will on be shown 1-day after the TRANSACTION IS POSTED by the merchant.
You can check your Available Credit Limit (that's the most up-to-date as it includes unposted transaction)

Sorry for the incorrect information.

Weird. If I am not mistaken, you just pay the value of one ticket and get the other free. Read the T&C. Did you signed the receipt for RM24?

I never actually try the promo, but since the cashier can actually click the promo for OCBC (from their screen), you ought to pay the price of one ticket only, and get the other free, nothing to do with rebate.

Since you only signed once, call up OCBC and file a dispute.

You have been CONNED by the Cashier..... no rebate is given in your statement. You get 2 tickets at the price of 1 ticket. i.e. Swipe and charged RM12 in your statement.
Do you have your ticket stub to verify ?

u can also track ur transactions in excel files, put in what transaction u think will get 5% and 1% respectively.
if there's discrepancies from the total rebate u get, try to move around the transactions that u suspect is wrong.

The OCBC Titanimum card is the only card that in an event salesman con you on the features... you will still enjoy a win-win situation.

It offers you like no other card does.

Although I agree this kind of salesman, you have to file a complain.

If other cards, I might have called to cancel directly and not allowing the salesman to receive any commission!

i think this is a bit wrong, since the rebate for bonus still capped at rm20

i'm not too sure here, there 2 additional rebate in month 3...
in t&c, just say capped at rm20..
so 5% capped at rm20 another 5% capped at rm20
or both combine capped at rm20? sweat.gif

Sept max rebate is RM40.
Thus, max bill amount will be still RM400, equal to 5% + 5% rebate.

yeap...looks like it...

excerpt from FAQ:

Q: What is the maximum rebate that I can earn?
A: The rebate payable is subject to the following limit:
i. 5% monthly rebate is subject to RM20 per month per customer,
ii. 5% bonus rebate is subject to RM20 per customer.
iii. 5% OCBC Titanium rebate is subject to RM50 per month (or such amount
specified under the product features or Terms and Conditions),

just to add, so they wun be alot of questions floating:

Rebates will be credited as a single payment into customers’ account (OCBC Credit
Card, Current or Savings account) by 30 November 2012.

@zenquix - pay in advance can meh? Like can dump RM400 into Maxis and it'll be deducted for future bills (so future months no need pay)?

I applied online, they immediately reply email and now the sales rep called me (the next day) to confirm some things. Wah.... so efficient meh? Hopefully application successful (only got 2 months pay slip but sales rep says shouldn't be an issue).
*
I faxed over the application.
HE didn't have any acknowledgement.

After one week, I checked with self check phone.
The auto phone said no application for this IC number.
The application was left over there with nobody to handle it. mad.gif

I talked to any CS.
First, the lady said haven't received.
After checking, immediately she called back and said that she had received it.
Within 5 days, she approved my card.

It really depends on which CS you deal with...
Efficient or not is not the common practice of OCBC.

There are 2 types of rebates offered in this Campaign:

Well, you can fax them a photocopy of your PBB savings passbook actually. But of course you'll need to update it first. I believe they just want to see if there really is salary credited into your PBB account smile.gif

i think what ronnie said is actually...pay ur bill amount, before ur bill statement date....so when they auto debit from ur cc, the bill amount payable is 0 or maybe a few ringgit..

however, u could advance pay up to rm400, to fully utilize the rebate if you want too...

Didn't expect it to be so fast man!

edit:
Anyone knows if we still will get auto-billing rebates, eg. DG RM5 rebate if we make advance payment first?
*
Yet to reciv mine. 10workin days have past. by the way, i would like to know bout whether we still considered autobilling since we pay advance (rm400 / any amount) to gain the extra rebates

Yes, you need to pay in advance before your bill end date.
Pls make sure pay via Ocbc internet banking website.

I'm very very disappointed towards OCBC's credit card approval team. Jan/Feb this year I applied for the TI card, I get rejected. OK fine, I don't think about this card anymore.

End of May they called me, offer me a pre-approved TI because i'm having housing loan with OCBC. Ok, good... I accepted it.

After 1 month no news at all, I check my online banking credit card status check. Once again, I get rejected again!!!

WTF? They offer me a pre-approved card and now they telling you, rejected...what is this??? Waste my time to fill in the application form!!!!!!!!!

This OCBC Titanium is one of the TOP 2 CC to own... it pays for it's own Annual Fee + GST (without needing to call their CS) just by swiping it.

Is it because twin seat? because to my understanding, twin seat consider as one.

Or do you buy at different time but on the same day? hmm.gif

Not twin seat. It was standard seat. I got 4 standard seats for the price of two. In one single purchase, same ticket counter, same ticketing staff, seat numbers all next to each other.
