Last month I got charged RM50 tax on my Citibank Clear Card, so I called Citibank and asked if I can cancel the card and the RM50 waived. I was informed that I can cancel the card and it will take about 3 months for the government to reimburse the RM50 and I need not worry about the outstanding amount. So I told the CS to cancel my card.

I have too many credit cards, now starting to collect Debit Cards as it is tax free and same time get same benefits or even better compared to credit card from same issuer.

I'm sorry if you feel this way. That's not the point of my post and frankly I don't even have such cards from CIMB.

why you want CL that high?

What if your card kene fraud.

RM100k gone.

High CL gives cardholder better flexibility especially if you travel a lot and high spender.

Fraud? Banks aren't that stupid and they are fair in dealing with this. So, no such thing as "I don't want high CL because takut kene fraud."

Speaking of frauds, I must say cards issued by the second largest bank in the country are prone to this. I was victim of this twice. People around me also feel the same.

CIMB Enrich World Mastercard will be more exclusive then since it is by invitation and card usage above RM 500k per annum.  drool.gif

Maybe one day classic card becomes exclusive as few people are holding it. tongue.gif

Hahaha this very well be the case now even!

no problem in midvalley or 1utama as they only accept GSC credit card, no cash allowed on that counter
*
Actually, it does happen all the time in 1utama. I'm a frequent customer there as I'm staying in pj. They do have cash there since ppl who did phone or online reservation collect there. There are 2 lines side by side, 1 gsc EON and 1 for reservation or epayment. Basically they merge both when there isn't any EON gsc cardmember.

It's easy to know if the customer is paying cash for reservation or not. If they are there standing talking on phone or asking gf bf where to sit, there you go... For cards like uob, they accept too because of the visa wave thingy...

Added on October 19, 2010, 12:11 amI think they should leave the gsc line ready without merging when there isn't any customer or else the gsc card seems worthless other than the small rebate. It's not that we can't afford the exta rm1, it's the queue thats matter...

1. I am one.
2. Not necessarily. You can log in to CIMB Clicks even though you have only CIMB credit card.

I was told by the CS that you need to pay the GST first, then only can be canceled.

Damn, the one who told me must be lazy to do so.

If I were you, I would take the CS officer's remarks with a pinch of salt. Do update us 3 months later.

There's few situation.

1. You have only credit card with CIMB
You can log in to Clicks only to view statement

2. You have Clicks with your CA/SA but it's not linked with your card
You can still make payment using option Transfer Funds --> Transfer To Other CIMB Account

3. You have Clicks with your CA/SA and it's already linked to your CC.
Just click Account Details --> View All My Accounts ----> Click on your CC acc ----> Pay Statement Amount

If not mistaken, I started my CIMClicks account with my CC first. Subsequently, my existing CA/SA was added (by the system, not my request) to the list of accounts.
But I still can't pay anything via my SA/CA on CIMBClicks. Strange ....

truth_seeker_09:
- SCB which will pay the RM50 for the first year PLUS Free Usable Cash up to RM138. After 1 year, wait for another card with similar offer
- OCBC will pay the RM50 if you spend RM10,000 within the year.

You must re-register for CIMBClicks using your ATM card. You'll be able to see all your accounts information including SA/CA but if you have not registered using the ATM card which is linked to your SA/CA, you won't be able to perform any transactions online. You can only view your account history online. It is just this weird system CIMB Bank is practising. And if you have two Savings Account/Current Account with them and both of them come with a different ATM card, you must do the same too which is to register for online banking using both of the ATM cards separately.

Account executive victim of latest credit card scam

I need to clarify something. How is it that having the pin numbers to her credit cards enabled the fraudsters to withdraw monies from her 3 savings accounts? Aren't the cc accounts separate from the savings accounts? I thought only the atm card could access the savings account, no?

The scam involved withdrawing money from SA or CA. The cc part was just to instill fear in the victim to make it sound real and make the scam work.

Actually the government should do something about all these impersonation and impose a serious deterrent penalty (Emm ... perhaps like nothing less than 10 years in prison?) then these scams won't happen.
