To EONBank GSC card users, have you encountered people who line up at the gsc eonbank concession counter and pretend that they don't know the counter is only for those with the card?

Had another experience yesterday and it's really annoying because they're slowing down the queue. After turning away a few customers without the card, the gsc staff announced loudly 'excuse me, this line is only for gsc eoncard users' yet some still try to talk their way out of it. I've seen the staff giving in a few times, fella had to go to another counter to register the purchase.

Suggest you write in a strong letter of protest to GSC as its an outright abuse of their system, not to mention a blatant waste of time mad.gif

I was in Pavilion KL today to do some shopping and I saw at least ten people paying for their purchases with either CIMB Visa Infinite or World Mastercard. Somehow, it's like a common sight that doesn't make both cards look exclusive anymore! Soon black will be the new platinum just like how platinum is the new gold! Mind you that also means having a minimum CL of 100k is so common these days!

Put it this way, I was at Econsave last evening, and there were 1 couple paying with CIMB WMC rclxms.gif

Guess CIMB finally achieved their objective of mass market penetration with their cards. What better way than to flood the market with perceived "prestige card" which are in fact just a well packaged joke on their card users laugh.gif

But seriously, since when has CL ever been equated with prestige, especially when no one knows what CL you are having anyway (I believe Mbf was the first to introduce this idea with their "Gold" card back decades ago) hmm.gif

Just noticed something new. WHile Alliance Bank's Visa exchange rate is through the roof (well covered in this thread and my blog), I found the Mastercard exchange rate to be quite comparable to the other Mastercards and current exchange rate. It is starting to look like a system/programming/policy problem?

What ? RM80 ? That's a new high ! The highest i've come across is just RM50.

Minimum RM100 at "Mr DIY" a few months ago. The requirement has been reduced to RM50 when I revisited the shop last week.

I had swiped RM5 at Jusco before. sweat.gif

It is probably due to the ongoing promotion for CIMB/DA WMC and VI in Pavilion. There is currently a Big Spender contest for these 2 cards specifically in Pavilion only.

Perhaps this statement is correct. I noticed my SCB VISA USD rate is comparable to CIMB Mastercard despite the perceived premium of SCB forex rates. I can't compared this apple to apple yet ... will try to do so if there's an opportunity.

This happened all the time especially in GSC 1Utama... (Tropicana sometimes)
It's kinda annoying that i need to wait those ppl in line to slowly choose the seats, pay cash and walk away like every customer behind the line owe them...

usually i do last minute grab on the reservation seats after it's open 45 mins before the show starts, and there you go those ppl argue'ing with the counter staff to pay it by cash for 5 mins or so.

I did complain to the counter staff about it, they just smile... (And i'm showing my annoyed face)
i don't feel special at all having the GSC card.

All these are due to lousy training by the Managers of GSC.
The same goes for those cashier counters at Tesco/Giant/.. which allow anyone to queue at their express counter.

Yeah it was at 1Utama. No such encounters at Tropicana so far, most probably because I seldom watch movies there.
I'm guessing it is even worse in Midvalley...

It is a common physchology that humans feel uncomfortable when other ppl also possess something that they think only they are deserved.

I swiped the card at WIP Bangsar Shopping Centre. It is a pub cum bistro. And yes, my spending at WIP gave me 5% cash back.

I also spent at the pub inside a hotel in Kota Kinabalu. However, I charged the bill under my total hotel bill. My lodging bill was entitled to 1% rebate.

no problem in midvalley or 1utama as they only accept GSC credit card, no cash allowed on that counter

CIMB Enrich World Mastercard will be more exclusive then since it is by invitation and card usage above RM 500k per annum. drool.gif

Maybe one day classic card becomes exclusive as few people are holding it. tongue.gif
