i was trying to make an online purchase but the merchant requires 3D security for my credit card and my citibank master card was not accepted. called the customer service but they have no idea about it. anyone here has any experience with this 3D security thing? thanks
The 3D security thingy is known as either Verified by VISA or MasterCard SecureCode and Citibank Malaysia is offering neither.

Thanks for the info, but can't understand why Citibank as an international bank doesn't offer this.

Any other options on how can I make the payment? I have only the Citibank card + Amex but the merchant doesn't accept Amex. sad.gif
If the website insists on only accept credit card from banks providing the 3D security feature, then i guess you have no other choice but to use another credit card, book your room through phone or change hotel.

haha.. actually I want OCBC Titanium but my annual income not yet reached that level...

Actually the GST not a big issue, just wan to know which bank more generous... hahaha..

1 thing i don't like CIMB DA is the bonus point only carry for 3 years FROM THE CARD ISSUANCE DATE!! That's meant watever i spent on the "2nd year and 11 month", the bonus point will be forfeited without any time for me to redeem it... haihh... but i cant see any others better credit card choice for me..
Are you sure ? I used to be a CIMB Bank card holder and i am almost 100% sure your bonus points earned is good for 3 years from the month of accumulation.

This card and CIMB Visa is 0.5% cash rebate for all transactions?
Yes. The CIMB VISA Infinite will give you 1% for all transactions transacted in foreign currency.

Visa Infinite? Not normal CIMB Visa Card? My income not so high yet... cry.gif
Then you can always apply for the CIMB Petronas MasterCard. You can still apply for this card even if you already hold their regular MasterCard.

Hi,
I got a some question about Credit Card.
Let say if i want to buy a laptop using flexi payment installment plan, do i need to make sure my account balance to be enough for the purchase? will it be the Current account or Personal Account?

Thanks for the info, when does the balance reset? early of every month?
available balance should be calculated daily, it's
your total credit limit - all your outstanding balance (posted and non posted transactions)
Certain banks will only release the total hold amount until you have fully paid up the installment.

I received a FedEx card offer from Maybank 3 mths ago but I never activated it although a MBB officer did call and ask if I received the card, which I just responded yes.  End of conversation.

Today I received a statement charging me for the RM50 service tax. How can MBB do this?
Do they even have a FedEx card ?

What ? RM80 ? That's a new high ! The highest i've come across is just RM50.

If not mistaken, I started my CIMClicks account with my CC first. Subsequently, my existing CA/SA was added (by the system, not my request) to the list of accounts.
But I still can't pay anything via my SA/CA on CIMBClicks. Strange ....
You must re-register for CIMBClicks using your ATM card. You'll be able to see all your accounts information including SA/CA but if you have not registered using the ATM card which is linked to your SA/CA, you won't be able to perform any transactions online. You can only view your account history online. It is just this weird system CIMB Bank is practising. And if you have two Savings Account/Current Account with them and both of them come with a different ATM card, you must do the same too which is to register for online banking using both of the ATM cards separately.

unlike "the red low cost airline" which IMHO ... their adverts are often misleading.
laugh.gif That is because there is no specific law requiring them to publish the net fare in their advertisement. And they learn that from Ryanair. Well, it's actually even worse with Ryanair. They could tell you your flight is going to Frankfurt but when you arrive there, you'll realize you are arriving at Frankfurt-Hahn airport instead of Frankfurt-Rhein Main. Frankfurt-Hahn airport is like 2 hours away from Frankfurt ohmy.gif doh.gif

Which is more cost-effective to pay your CC bills :-
A. via Interbank Giro (IBG) thru online banking
B. through cheque deposit machine ?
It depends ... if the amount need to be paid is more than RM5,000, then using cheque is definitely more cost effective.
