To EONBank GSC card users, have you encountered people who line up at the gsc eonbank concession counter and pretend that they don't know the counter is only for those with the card?

Had another experience yesterday and it's really annoying because they're slowing down the queue. After turning away a few customers without the card, the gsc staff announced loudly 'excuse me, this line is only for gsc eoncard users' yet some still try to talk their way out of it. I've seen the staff giving in a few times, fella had to go to another counter to register the purchase.
QUOTE(rayfoo @ Oct 18 2010, 08:41 AM)
so far no, btw they got a big gold colour sign hanging on top saying it's for gsc eonbank card holder only..which gsc cinema did you encounter this?
*
This happened all the time especially in GSC 1Utama... (Tropicana sometimes)
It's kinda annoying that i need to wait those ppl in line to slowly choose the seats, pay cash and walk away like every customer behind the line owe them...

usually i do last minute grab on the reservation seats after it's open 45 mins before the show starts, and there you go those ppl argue'ing with the counter staff to pay it by cash for 5 mins or so.

I did complain to the counter staff about it, they just smile... (And i'm showing my annoyed face)
i don't feel special at all having the GSC card.

no problem in midvalley or 1utama as they only accept GSC credit card, no cash allowed on that counter
*
Actually, it does happen all the time in 1utama. I'm a frequent customer there as I'm staying in pj. They do have cash there since ppl who did phone or online reservation collect there. There are 2 lines side by side, 1 gsc EON and 1 for reservation or epayment. Basically they merge both when there isn't any EON gsc cardmember.

It's easy to know if the customer is paying cash for reservation or not. If they are there standing talking on phone or asking gf bf where to sit, there you go... For cards like uob, they accept too because of the visa wave thingy...

Added on October 19, 2010, 12:11 amI think they should leave the gsc line ready without merging when there isn't any customer or else the gsc card seems worthless other than the small rebate. It's not that we can't afford the exta rm1, it's the queue thats matter...

Think there is a terminal called paywave that accepts both but I may be wrong.

Yup. Some of them actually accept both. They have visa wave and paypass logo.

KLCC San Francisco cafe for example.

Can anyone help me with this..
Is the uob one platinum credit card a real platinum card?

I just found that like citibank's cash back platinum card is not really a real plat card.

Thanks

No. That is definitely not a Platinum card.
This really is a Platinum card actually. Just a much lower standard Platinum card. You only need a mere RM48k/pa of salary or an existing Gold credit card with a minimum credit limit of RM10k to qualify for this card.

Hmm... thanks for the info... i was in 1U the other day and the agent keep asking me to get that card saying it's a plat. I was curious since my gold card is less than 10k and they prompt me for the One Plat Card...

thanks for the information smile.gif

Does it really matter if the card is plat or not? As long as the card suits you, even a classic card with great promotions all year long is already very good.
Some platinum cards cannot even match with titanium or gold card, the same goes to WMC/VI. Sometimes people are chasing so-called "status" rather than really looking at its benefits.

Of course I'm not pointing anyone here, just a friendly reminder what is the most important and why you need to apply a credit card, not because it is plat or world/infinite.

A useful link.

Appreciate your help with the info.
I'm not actually fancy'ing the card type. Since i'm not a big spender anyway tongue.gif

Just that i wish to know what i'm applying for and what card it really is. (Since most card sales agent in the mall isn't that honest and only pushing whatever card that earns them better commission.)

By the way, i have the intention to cancel both Amex from MBB and GSC Eon because of some 'bad' service i encounter. Just wondering anyone have any complaint or comment on UOB / SCB's customer service?

Dear all, i had tried to search those whole thread, i doesn't able to find any solution on this, hope someone can help to answer, kindly please direct me to the correct page if i miss the part...

with the OCBC titanium card, i understands 5% goes to most bill.
Does autodebit gives the 5% too? (not register through OCBC)
For example, i register my digi, astro as well as telekom through the respective shops/centre.

Many thanks.

I got both my UOB One Plat and OCBC Titanium card approved today.
I'm so happy as it's my 2nd attempt for applying cards from foreign bank.

Initially Citibank rejected my application 2 times in a row which i applied within 2 years period.

Anyway, just to share with you that UOB is really generous in giving CL. My UOB at 10k and my OCBC at 4.5k... such a big difference...

Oh ya, i recalled that the sales agent at 1utama telling me that if i apply 1 autobilling with my UOB card, they will give me Rm50 Smartcash to off set the gov charges, but i wasn't able to find it in UOB's website.
Anyone applied an UOB card came across this promotion?

But still it's a lot faster than signing. I actually love the feature, tap and go. But yeah, mist of the places with the machine but it's not working. They should promote it to avoid long queues..

Hi , Does Anyone Knows about visa pay wave,,i know that its like touch and go,, but sometimes it will ask you for a pin Number,, what pin number is this and where to get it?,, tried looking the Previous Threads for credit card and also search on the net but could find any info on this
*
i've been using this feature at Carrefour, Jusco, GSC and sometimes San Fransisco cafe for more than a year with my GSC Eon Visa but i did not encounter any of that. It's neither i'm wrong or the cashier thought you are talking about a debit card (which need to key in PIN)

Try to check with the bank by calling their customer service... nod.gif

I have a question to discus with.

I did a lot of online transaction with my Hsbc, so I registered securecode for it.

But now I wanted to create the visa verified thingy for Uob, I can't find it is the website.

Is it all banks have that feature?

Yes, it is confirmed that MBB has the lowest forex exchange rate for overseas transactions. If MBB's admin fee is 0.5%, then admin fee for SCB and HSBC on forex exchange should be around 1.5%, and not 1.0% and 1.25% as reported by both banks respectively.
*
In this case, does Amex card without maybank's logo falls under the same category? Eg: Amex gold CC, or green charge card etc..

Or Amex have their own forex rate?
