Statement Date = 15 October 2010

On 17 October 2010, I did Cash Advance withdrawal from ATM for RM100.
From 17 October to 15 November 2010, will there be DAILY INTEREST (18% p.a.) charged on the Cash Advance withdrawn ?
*
100 also wanna witdrawn from cc?

You will kena cash advance fee of 5% or RM50 whichever is higher. Daily interest is calculated until full payment.

I'm just showing RM100 as an Example... maybe RM5000 is better choice ;-)

How is the daily interest calculated ?
A. from 17 October 2010 until full payment is made
A. from 15 November 2010 (statement date) until full payment is made

huh!? Is that correct? Does that mean cash withdrawal of RM100 from cc will kena RM50 cash advance fee? wow!  shocking.gif

Paiseh.. OCBC is the lowest among bank industry.

The cash advance fee is 5% of the amount advanced or a minimum of RM15, whichever is higher. This is imposed for each cash advance/casino chips transaction.

Finance charge on cash advance or casino cash chip is calculated from date of transaction until full payment.

Last month I got charged RM50 tax on my Citibank Clear Card, so I called Citibank and asked if I can cancel the card and the RM50 waived. I was informed that I can cancel the card and it will take about 3 months for the government to reimburse the RM50 and I need not worry about the outstanding amount. So I told the CS to cancel my card.

I have too many credit cards, now starting to collect Debit Cards as it is tax free and same time get same benefits or even better  compared to credit card from same issuer.
*
I was told by the CS that you need to pay the GST first, then only can be canceled.

Damn, the one who told me must be lazy to do so.

Eon bank is really good.. Last 2 months I wished my cards and already e-mailed them the cancellation letter.

Someone called me to ask for reason and offered me 50GST rebate with condition of swiping 3 transactions within the next month without any minimum amount.

I accepted it and they waived the GST for two of my cards.

Now they have launched the e-statement... so that is very good so I do not need to file their statements every month.

Who got rebate from Maybank if they ask for cancellation on the reason of the GST?

But the bad side is, we cannot view the monthly credit card statement via internet banking anymore, right?

The monthly statement will only sent via email if we subscribe and un-subscribe for paper based monthly statements?

Can get 2 cards for same bank? ohh.. i just knew it...
*
Can la.. still can view the past 3 months statement online (not under e-statement)

VISA and MASTER = 2 cards

Wonder why Maybank is so good. I have two Mastercard with Maybank that the later one was the upgrade card from the first card.

I subscribed my first card for auto debit payment to my insurance. I canceled that first card last month in order to save the GST.

Today, I called the insurance co and wanted to ask the procedure to update the new cc.

However, the insurance co told me that Maybank has sent them a letter to inform that the card has been canceled and has been replaced by the 2nd card.

So the auto debit will be in effect using the 2nd Maybank cc... I was shocked.. It sounds so good!

I emailed Ambank for service tax waiver but they disallow as they mentioned those tax is payable to Gov.

They asked me to use 10k points to redeem for offset.

I would rather opt to terminate their credit card service.

If you don't wish to get charged GST, you must cancel the card at least 2 weeks in prior.
However, for my case, I cancelled a supplementary card which was supposed to be charged RM25 on 24-11-2010, just one day in prior, and I was safe.
I omitted to realise the card was expired this month until seeing the GST appearing online.

You shouldn't blame the bank. You should have read the GST notice available in every bank's official website.
*
I didn't blame them. Just that they did not consider what a loyalty customer is. How much FD I am with them etc...

Will you continue using the card until next GST due?

If, I say if. If you didn't forget the GST due date, would you cancel the card to avoid GST?
*
Yes, I will since OCBC and SCB already have great deals and offers.

OCBC - 5% discount and waiver of GST from 1st year onwrds.
SCB - 0.5% discount, plus with reward point + waiver of GST every year.

Yup, Business Visa also got RM188.
It's just not applicable to "Principal Classic / Titanium / Preferred World MasterCard / Visa Infinite".

Are u sure SCB waives GST every year? Any condition?
*
I forgot.. I remembered that they will waive for you every year with phone call and they credit you some bonus or points to offset.
