Yeah it was at 1Utama. No such encounters at Tropicana so far, most probably because I seldom watch movies there.
I'm guessing it is even worse in Midvalley...
*
no problem in midvalley or 1utama as they only accept GSC credit card, no cash allowed on that counter

well.. it depends, when u pay with a higher prestige cc while paying, u will be more sort of "confident". (imagine all people at the queue take out VI/Plat while someone take out a piece of norm cc, in case u in the high class places) This kind of self-boasting, although not really good, but sometimes are just useful.

Although i agree with u that in reality benefits are more realistic, even u only have cash back silver card.. smile.gif
*
i rather own a ugly card with 10% cash back rather than some prestige credit card, i think most of the LYN'ian care about reward and benefit laugh.gif

No cash that's why need plastic cards loh  tongue.gif I was having dinner with a rich man recently and found out that he don't even have a credit card, he pays with cash or cheque.

As far as I am concerned, people who have status are those with AMEX Plat Charged Card where they wiiling to fork up for the annual fees. Where is Dozz? That is one guy we know that is loaded.

As for Plat cards, there are so many in the market and not all the same. The better ones offer Protection Plan for purchases and good travel insurance coverage.

Alliance Plat card is pretty good where you get 1) cash rebate & reward points 2) Protection Plan 3) Accss to KLIA lounge 4) Free auto annual fees (with conditions) 5) Timeless reward points and 6) 2X reward points for overeseas.

For purchasing airline tickets, Citibank Visa Plat and HLB Plat insurance coverage are pretty good. HLB covers spouse and children up to RM1.7m and free RM300K PA.

The point is, you get a card for its benefits, that's why a lot of people here with want OCBC Titanum which is a lower "class" compared to Platinum tongue.gif

most senior citizen doesn't own any credit card, it could be their habit

but credit card can be useful if u know how to utilize it, is still back to the basic of a person of knowledge to handle his own finance

esso/mobil that give 2x points:
grand saga highway (both side),
cheras perdana (entrace flyover near 90cents toll),
bangi sect 10 (near plus exit - kajang),
kajang town (next to KPJ / kompleks kota kajang).

best for kajang/semenyih/bangi/balakong people.

last year they gave 2x points without terms & conditions.
this year 2x points will be given 3 weeks after swipe min rm200 within a month (i usually fuel min rm400/month).
promo is from 7 sep - 31 dec.

oh free tissue if swipe inside (cashier) min rm40. i usually swipe at pump. just twice go inside so far.
the tissue box just small one only. but then, its free ~ smile.gif

i am staying in kajang  thumbup.gif
*
so nice, too bad Subang area doesn't have this kind of promotion
i only took 2 tissue box so far

The bank did provide several solutions to me.
Either spend RM2k in 2 months' time OR subscribe to one Autopay service will do. At that time it was impossible for me to fulfill either one condition.

Talking about cancellation of Shell card recently, the bank did not even advise/persuade me, straight away proceed shocking.gif  OK lor, cancel then cancel lor biggrin.gif
*
for what i think, that shell card is pretty much useless card, very low cash rebate given compare to others
and some forumer having difficulty to waive annual fee for the subsequent year

This starting of the month i applied PBB Esso-Mobil credit card, there is a tier rate of rebate, add on another 3% cash rebate, REFER HERE

So this month i spend RM221.70 for Esso-Mobil fuel, so the cash rebate should be 2%+3%, but the statement show that only 2% rebate given back to me, of course need to phone up their customer service hotline for enquiry

this is the moment that pissed me off, called twice on 11am today and made another one just now and nobody pick up the call at all, the most fed up things is i almost waited almost 10min for each call and yet nobody pick up at all, all engaged
doh.gif
1st time deal with PBB already like this, i wonder how it would be in the future, totally dissapointed doh.gif

including RHB too, not sure about all branch but my nearest branch is still using envelope when i remit EPF payment on behalf of my uncle. Plus, I found out that my area of easy rhb branch don't accept cheque  blink.gif  because they don't install the cheque machine yet.
*
Easy RHB mostly for personal loan, which is why they don't have CDM

btw, i applied OCBC Titanium TWICE NOT APPROVED! cry.gif

1st time applied using >3 years DA Plat. got letter unsuccessful without any reason.
so i apply for 2nd time (next week after that) with all supporting documents (pretend as i dont have cc yet).
both applied at OCBC Kajang branch.

dont tell me since using Plat then cant use the Titanium?
but if not mistaken, i did noticed some people here using Plat also can get the OCBC Ti?

my record are clean. NEVER had debt. cc all paid full/more.
i dont have any loan (house/car all paid cash) - this also suprised the OCBC officer who took my application, since at the form i thick residental status - own, then she ask house loan from which bank, i said no loan. car loan? no car loan also.

really need that 5% rebate for petrol+bill+groceries  sad.gif  sad.gif  sad.gif

my mom told me, maybe, the bank think i'm able to pay, then no need la give me 5% rebate doh.gif
*
btw did u have RM36k pa salary?

if u are desperate for that card, try put in RM5k deposit to apply that card, it might work
